  • that was a pretty sick mix, i gotta say

  • Yeah Jonny! Scorpios unite!

  • Anything involving Jonny Greenwood taking control is fine with me.

  • i'm sure this has been mentioned a thousand times by now but this was the closing song of the set and this was how they did it.

  • He didn't walk out because of anger or anything, it is part of the performance, going off one by one leaving the computers to make the music.

  • wish we could see the rest... :(

  • jonny greenwood is my hero.

  • @chileanrockerx sorry señor puto... You obviously misunderstood me. If Thom or Jonny jumped off a cliff I would be the first to follow... In my country we've got something called irony, a term you seem to be unfamiliar with.

I saw them in Copenhagen 06 - best experience ever!

Cálmate por favor and be glad that God loves his children yeah!

  • Control and Radiohead don't match...

    They are untameable and uncontrolable!

  • @soerenklaver you're an idiot...

  • around 0:47 if you look closely, it's a total cheesecake moment, if ya know what I mean. ;D

  • aww i wanted more after :/

    great set radiohead has :)

  • what song is this?

  • Everything in its Right Place, from Kid A. It's usually the encore song.

  • ...afeter radiohead...there is nothing....

  • LOL did anyone notice that jonny was feeling mad confident towards the end when he was solo-ing? lol, he puts the kaoss padd down when he noticed he coudlnt take it with him to talk to the drummer! lol. hes funny. 1,000 dollars to whoever can objectively tell me what he asked the drummer...ITS EASY!!!

    Answer: ___________________?

  • I'm guessing, asked him to play a short beat so he could record it and loop it?

  • Keep doing that, Phil!

  • That's my answer to what he says to Phil...

  • lol! thanks for the compliment

  • "If the universe is constantly expanding, then what is it expanding into???"

    I want my $1000...

  • nice

  • here, take this quarter, i owe you...

    ...

  • I accept Paypal :)

  • @barden1069 the universe is expanding infinitely in every directions posible. it's compresing and expanding at the same time.

  • Jonny Greenwood=Magician

  • If you listen to them you would understand each of Radioheads members has a very important part in the sound of it all. Not one member could exist without the other without compromise.

  • well said

  • @bobdobslob True

  • @bobdobslob Really? I always thought Ed was kinda expendable. Plus, you get the feeling that he really doesn't like the whole experimenting with electronic music thing.

  • @harish1105 I can understand the not really loving the whole electronic experimentation thing but do give the man some credit. He did write the street spirit riff after all.

  • @WatashiWaChuck True. And the riff for Lucky too. And anyone who has contributed to OK Computer deserves their place in the pantheon of music greats.

  • @bobdobslob <3

  • greenwood has a great career for the future, after radiohead.

  • i dont know if there will be an after, they are so amazing and constantlky changing their sound, idk if theyll run out of ideas, the only thing to worry about is split

  • @justinorville they won't =) They been together for more than 3/4 of their lives. Bands only split so they can become more famous, and they get back together after about 5 years for more fame. Radiohead aren't like that. Radiohead are Radiohead and they will be radiohead.

  • Johnny Greenwood is the true mastermind behind Radiohead.

  • I guess you don't understand Radiohead then

  • LOL ok kid.

  • Not to argue, its sampled and looped, but it isn't just "left on auto," johnny greenwood is compiling the samples in real time with a korg kaoss pad. If you've never used one, play with one ASAP, they are awesome :)

  • Its well known that Thom Yorke writes most of the songs. I see what you mean regarding this video and live performances though

  • he samples himself playing through the kaoss pad, kind of like what beardyman does with it

  • ..Thats what I said.

  • He is pretty amazing. He did the score for the movie "There Will be Blood" it one a couple of awards for it's unique style and it's just so crazy. Johnny Greenwood is a true genius.

  • Yea I read something about that. That movie was great i.m.o.

  • Yeah dude movie is awesome. Daniel Day Lewis great actor.

  • wheres the rest of it!?

  • why did thom walk off?

  • Its all sampled and looped through their equipment, then toward the end they just walk off and leave it on auto, they do it at most gigs, awesome

  • the rest of them leave to, its just the end of the set

  • Sounded like the sound guy had fucked the samples...

  • "crazy hand waving action"

    LOL!

  • Its Kaoss pad - Johnny has been recording what Thom has been singing and then he samples it back and fucks around with it on the pad.

  • Thank you....

    A bit late though...

  • I just loled

  • i was there.

  • Awesome (Y)

  • i want that touch pad

  • It calls Kaoss Pad. I want it too.

  • Johnny Greenwood is the controller

  • I was there! Perfect concert!

  • Man, this is stupid. Mallenia of developing the English language, and this mother fucker insists on turning "people" into ppl?

You need to listen to way more grammar classes.

  • Why? It doesn't harm the environment.

  • Haven't thought about this gig in a while. Beck's puppet show, Japanese insanity with Deerhoof, then Radiohead playing the best gig I've still seen in my life to this day

Your clip catches one of the best moments of the entire thing. Good on ye :)

  • i saw them playingthat song live .. Not in a video , but tonight and it was awesome !! Jonny's hair turn me on when it goes all over the place - and that song is impecable !!

  • I respect everything about Phil, from his drumming to his shiney bald head! I think that Phil is an amazing drummer so nerrr!

  • to me phil is amazing some of the greatest moments on OK computer are phil's fills (no pun intended) that brought the intensity in thoms voice

  • Phil's fills, oh that's a classic :P

  • he told him to stop with the snare hits. he couldnt get a sample of the drums cause the snare was unpredictable and was just random.

and he went aand told him to stop.. so phil gave up... but jonny just wanted the bass drum notes.

phil isnt the best drummer, the rest of the guys kid around that he cant play drums. he does his part though so respect to him

  • Listen to the fills in Subterranean Homesick Alien and then tell me Phil is a bad drummer.

  • did i ever say he was? im pretty sure i didnt. and if u think im lying when i say they kid around that he cant play drums im more than happy to post links. and the fills in that song arnt mind blowing sir. tasteful? yes, but nothing that would put him compared to others. his skill level is an important part of the band that doesnt flant skill but contributes to the music. <--- and thats what makes a good drummer

  • Ah. I consider him a good drummer for the same reason. I mean, why doesn't Jonny get any rap for not being able to shred like Zakk Wylde?

  • i dunno... hes really under-rated. he is some howover shadowed by genric guitar players that have n style of there own. jonny on the other hand is so out-of-the-ordinary you would think people woud be crawling all over this stuff

  • they are two different types of guitarists man

  • You both missed my point entirely. What I was saying is that is Phil is a tasteful, musical drummer, against, say Lars Ulrich, who is a very technical drummer. Jonny is a tasteful, creative guitarist, against Zakk Wylde. Phil gets rap for not being a good drummer because he can't play like Lars, but Jonny gets none EVEN THOUGH he can't shred like Zakk.

I don't like BLS or Ozzy.

  • Lars Ulrich a technical drummer? HAHA! HAHAHAHA! To say Lars is even a DECENT drummer is pushing it.

  • Exactly. Listen to the Pyramid SOng. Listen to Videotape live - that drum part is so intricate - try to figure out the pattern and drum along - it's extremely difficult - and the part is so so effective.

Wolf At The Door too, what about Exit Music. - His standard beats are verrrry simplistic (Karma Police, Creep) etc. but often goes really well beyond that

  • with reference to the "best drummer". what makes a good drummer? I say someone who can hold and control multiple beats. Phil does this - so whats the fuss? People seem to get fast and busy confused with talent.

  • thats how you spell it, 'Jonny'

  • haha it looks like he took his drum stick.

  • hum ,, actually, ed processes the keyboard with delay pedals and such, and jonny handles the voice...

  • jonny had phil on check!

    ROFL

  • please explain, sorry if its something obvious lol

  • @ 1:20 he gives him orders, ha

  • oh, boy. you´re so envie.

  • If anything, what Ed is doing is way more complex then what Jonny is doing.

  • agreed

  • Agree.

  • I don't agree. I own a copy of Radiohead live at the Eurockeens in Belfort, France and what Ed is doing is using his sampler to feed Thom's voice through and cuts it up while Jonny uses his Kaoss Pad to make the voice samples higher pitched, delayed, etc. I would say each other's roles are complimentary. But yeah, without what Ed does, Jonny couldn't do it. (The title should be Ed and Jonny take control or something).

  • jonny jonny jonny jonny jonny jonny !

  • jonny greenwood is god

  • u have no idea how much i agree!!!

  • that's the usual way they do EEIRP nowadays, nothing spectacular about it... "Jonny turns the place upside-down with some mental beats and some crazy hand waving action" wow....

  • yeah, old news.

sounds like an average EIIRP closer.

  • what is EIIRP

  • Everything In It's Right Place?

    8-)

  • RUN JONNY RUN!

  • thom wasnt leaving. they do this all the time. jonny has a korg kaoss pad which he does live samples on. when they close with eiirp, everyone walks off except jonny and he fucks around with the kaoss pad.

  • jeez, everyone forgets about all the pedal trickery ed o'brien's doing at the same time.

  • true!

  • jonny greenwood is the controller ^_^

  • o_o he is, he is... By the way, great reggae album : )

  • thom had to poop

  • wtf? :P ^-^ I agree!

  • LOL! I wonder what radiohead does when one has to go the bathroom? I could never play on stage, when i get nervous, i gotsta gotsta go! lol

  • and why did Thom leave?

  • HAHA

  • They always leave the stage one by one when they close with Everything In It's Right Place.

  • wow! jonny moves fast

wish I could have been there

  • yes indeed

  • I think he runs over and hits a note on the Rhodes

  • awh the crowds beign so nice. ha

  • what song is that

  • "everything in its right place" from KID A.

  • What exactly is going on? Lol.

I love Johnny. I love Thom.

  • did the effects pad cut out? he looks stressed

  • i think johnny wanted to sample the drums lol

  • HAHAHAH look at him run!

  • where was this?

  • *waves back* :D
