  • I tied up a few of these over the winter . I got a chance to give them a shot today and they look great in the water and do catch fish . I got a few bass, crappie, and a sunfish or 2.... thank you for the great pattern

  • Sweet tie

  • If i didnt want to use the tungsten body, what would be the best way to make the hook flip over?

  • Very nice fly! I've tied this in size 8 to 3/0 and gettin big hits with it! Thanks for sharing!

  • Tested the Bellyache on Mother Lake at Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch (Colorado) last thursday. Landed a dozen Donaldsonsstripping it along the bottom. Hooked many more. Smallest was 19 inches; largest 22 inches. Tried five other streamers with no strikes. The hook riding up was a serious advantage.

  • Like that fly man!!

  • very nice, great vid..very helpful

  • very well done video with exceptionally detailed description of the fly , it's use and a great segment of how it looks/acts in water. I will definitly use this fly for trout and wally's here in S.C.

  • good for pike variations thanks

  • Yeah its made by hareline dubbin inc and its called a ribbed tungsten body and comes in four different sizes, we used Medium, hope it helps

  • Russ, can you recommend someplace to get the "hal footbal" lead? My local fly shop has no idea...

  • Tied up 5 Tuesday evening & fished them with a client yesterday and ended up with 8 smallmouth 2 over 4lbs. This pattern mimics the shad fry that are coming down the Delaware this time of year and I thought it would work, thanks and keep on yak'en.

  • Yeah we fish it for bass both large and small here in colorado and when I visit home in Illinois...should work great for you.

  • I guide on the Delaware River for smallmouth bass and this like a great shad "fry" imatation....do you know of anyone that fishes it for smallmouth?

  • you can tie these as small as you want and they make for a great leech or small crayfish pattern depending on the color scheme.

    Good Luck

Thanks for a great looking fly
