  • What an incredibly beautiful tribute. I only regret that my father was not able to hear these words. We were privileged to take a Band of Brothers tour in 2007 with some wonderful people, including Babe Heffron. Dad served in the 101st Airborne, 321st Glider Field Artillery, and, like Babe Heffron & Bill Guanere, survived his snowy Bastogne foxhole that dreadful December. Thank you so very much for this tribute to them, and all those who have fought and are presently fighting for our freedom.

  • Thanks for sharing this...is so beautiful and yet poignant.....

  • R.I.P Shifty and all others that died in the war thank you all :)

  • This is very good! Amazing! RIP to all fallen...

  • @SpainBlood001 I think..."Requiem for a soldier"..it was sung too by a female singer in a UK event, you'll see it here in ytube too.

  • This is beautiful. I loved the series and I always loved the theme music - I love being able to hear someone sing the song, and for you to put it all together like this - bravo!!!

  • very good!

  • got to take my hat of to these men , at the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them

  • God bless this men for the opportunity they gave us, who knows what would had happen if they would have not done the job they did. We take that for granted sometimes, and this is a good way to realize the sacrifice they did for us. Can not thank you all enough God bless the Armed Forces.

  • Sorry - last post should have said we can not honor these men enough. My mistake , sorry.

  • Very well done, Thank you. We, as a nation can not honor these men, and all allied forces for what they have done.BZ

  • Rest in Peace Dick Winters

A man of Valor and Honor

  • nice music and back ground

  • Best serie ever made!

  • It's a long time since youtube made me cry (if ever). This is like being in the sprit world. I came on here to listen to a beautiful song from my own country. That vid had a suggestion - a war memorial song by the same artist. I download that. That vid suggests the Catherine Jenkins vid singing this requiem. As I love that song but have never made out the lyrics I was overjoyed to play that. And finally that vid brings me here...

thank you so much for posting this

    peace be with you

  • In my heart of hearts I feel the greatest love for these fighting men,and in my love for them I also feel love for what they defended...

  • I think the song is beautiful and i am glad to know there are words. The words are as beautiful as the music is. Thanks for sharing! I love it!!!!

  • god bless em all and thanks to joeyzaine111 for sharing the info about Shifty.

  • Best redone ever love it.

  • nice vid, and great song

  • The instrumental version is beautiful, but I also like this version very very much! Thank you for posting and greetz from the Netherlands.

  • His Ship was hit by kamakazis just to clear that up. i forgot to put that in

  • my grandfather wasnt in Europe but he was in the pacific fighting the japenese navy at midway, iwo jima, guadal cannal, and okinawa. he lived through Halsey's Typhoon and his ship was hit 5 times before the war ended. I was the USS thatcher a Fletcher class destroyer. RIP William J Eder WWII USN

  • band of brothers....is increibleeeeeee...fantasticcc

  • You killed the sieries for me!!!

  • My Uncle died in WW2, my Grandmother said they were not sure it was her son in the coffen. I told her it was someones Son.

  • MUTO BOM.

  • I get goose bumps every time I hear the text of the song. Give honor to the soldiers of freedom

  • Rest in peace All WW2 Soldiers ...

I respect all of em ...

  • How wonderful. I write this through my tears. My dad was at Omaha Beach and was one of the lucky heroes who lived to come home. We owe them so much.

His name was John Qualio from Indiana. He deserves to be remembered. They were just boys and they saved the world. Thank you so much.

  • shut you comie damn

  • Anyone who says war is fun, or cool, has somthing wrong with hem, Millions, 60 MILION people died in WWII alone! Do those people care for the sons and daughters or liberty, and the rest of the people that died during war? SALUTE, and pay your respects!

  • @newfrankferger

I agree completely. War is not a game, and it should not be potrayed as such. That is one reason I love Band of Brothers and The Pacific so much. They truly show how horrific war really was.

  • @RealDougal

Thank you. My grandpa flew in a B-17 bomber over Europe in 1942-1943, in the process, he was injured and got a purple heart... In 2005, he passed away, along with all the herific* thoughts of war. RIP

  • Brings the tears right to my eyes.

  • Excellent video. I am a combat veteran, (Vietnam) and history geek. Freedom of speech extends to the internet as well, and is one of the things for which these men fought. To allow people to express thier opinions whether they are informed or uniformed.

  • @bbjw56 Thank you for your service. I am enlisting into the USMC this february

  • its very touching my heart... and soo beautyful song vokal...

  • Churchill new once Hitler had the French navel boats the UK would be next and then the USA, French solders was forced in to destroying there own vessels to stop this from happening due to the USA wanting no involvement in ww2 at a first glance even tho the US and UK was allies . Some people should really read up on there war history before making any sort of comment

  • How did you do it.:)

  • i like this better than the other one..i like their blending of the voice...

  • @litteboxer

So then why waste your time commenting on it? I appreciate your feedback but you are like the only one who thinks that.

  • we're doing this song in Choir right now.

  • Does anyone know who the singers are, I haven't heard this version before... It's beautiful :0)x

  • acimi forever advertisment xx ppl like you never look for those..

  • Best song Ever!I honour the Dead even though they died, they are dying to help and protect their country!I honour The whole Us army for helping us defeat the germans

  • I dont really know if America ever was threatened by the Nazis huh ?they just helped the europeans from the devil claws of the Nazis.THE Jews in Europe though, were threatened by the germans.

  • well, yeah, the Germans didn't technically threaten America head-on, however, Europe asked for help, they would've lost a lot of trading and economic partners, After Germany took over Europe, they could've easily went over seas to try and attack America. and don't forget japan, who truly provoked America, who were allied to the axis powers a.k.a. Hitler

  • @ UesugiVincentibanez & others- Actually, Nazi Germany were developing a bomber capable of bombing New York. If he hadn't kept changing his mind on what he wanted so that his engineers etc would be able to design something properly, then he would have led in the aero technology. The V2 was also being redesigned. Theres a lot of stuff thats still classified, so who knows what we'll find out when these files become declassified.

  • well true, i don't doubt those facts however.... as you said, it is in fact classified, when those files are declassified i have no doubt many people will also list those as reasons for the introduction of America to WWII. However, as it stands, those are still classified, not many people would know about them, and who knows what truly happened. I prefer to stick to the textbook interpretation myself, although i'm adventurous also and would like to see those "classified" files ;)

  • no we were threatened i mean if europe and russia and most of the other counrtys would have been takein over by hiterls quest for world domination who would be next? you think he would just stop with europe?. thats what rosavelt thought so here we are 70 years later with millions dead.... sad but if we hadnt jumped in it could have been muched worse i mean britan could have fallen

  • now thats debatable, with out US arms and economic support, Britian may have fallen, but id not say that with out US troops we'd have fallen.

  • waahhhh...i almost cried!!!!

  • Awsome

  • Thank you Easy company, not just you., but the entire US army. Thank you for liberating us.

  • JUST BEAUTIFUL & INSPIRING

  • well done very well put together, i loved it

  • i missed the choir though

  • For all warriors in all wars past, we stand on your sacrifice. For us to live lives of honor, integrity, and respect is the least we can do to honor you and your eternal gift to us. Thank you.

  • This was really good. You were right to show the interviews at the end. Thank you.

  • God bless the fallen warriors!!

  • Amen. And May God bless those who are still here.

  • ok, do you have sheet music for this???

  • This is really cool! Good job to whoever did this

  • Thanks. The video is just the original band of brothers theme muted. I added this song so I really can't take much credit because it was very simple to make.

  • Who sings this?? It is awesome.

By the way, Shifty Powers recently died at age 86.

Hope this was played at his funeral.

    God Bless him and America

  • Amici forever 'Requiem for a soldier'

  • RIP Shifty you will always be remembered as one of the few..the band of brothers..

  • RIP Shifty.

  • Yeah, one quote from the book when they took...Foy, I think?? Shifty had killed a german sniper with one shot between the eyes and somebody commented "You know, it just don't pay to be shootin' at Shifty when he's got a rifle..." One thing's for sure: If heaven ever needs to be defended, God's gonna give Shifty an M1.

  • God Bless him

  • Nosotros pocos, felices pocos, nosotros, grupo de hermanos;

(Enrique V, Shakespeare)

  • 14 ramsteinshit 88 I read your channel so I know you are racist . Don't leave me a comment scum.

  • very nice

it will take me awhile to get used to hearing words sung in this otherwise terrificly patriotic theme

  • Btw, my thanks to Joeyzaine111 for posting this song with the lyrics.

  • Get the facts right. POLAND was a large civilized country when Germany was a rag-bag of 200 petty states fighting each other over pigs and sheep!.

Only later did Prussia, Russia and Austria gang up on and butcher the Polish state.

  • Your crudeness and foul language are completely out of place in this context. Hey, when you go to war twice within 30 years and end up losing both times there are going to be consequences, including the loss of territory which does affect thousands of uninvolved people. But, the loss of land is minor when compared with what some lost who are commemorated in this song and film.

  • @713davidh42 why is the price of peace so high?

  • Poland was part of both Germany and Russia

After World War I both countries had to give out that land that is Poland

  • beautiful lyrics :')

  • reqium for a soldier

  • AMAZING SONG!!! Thank you very much for posting it!

  • Band of Brothers is a tremendous mini-series, too bad they didn't include the words in this video in the opening sequence. What a great tribute to our fallen soldiers!!

  • Thank you for posting this version, I have been looking for this version of the song everywhere =p

  • I watched this in school and almost cried when we watched the intro... LMAO!!! this version and the original are both great versions!!! this music is soo GOOD!!! :)

  • Dude... It's a nice song if you don't like it then don't listen to it.

  • i cryed when I listened to this song

  • omg me too... and i almost cried in school when we watched this! :D but its amazing...

  • I cryed on this one TO ALL OF OUR BRAVE SOLDIERS NOT ONE OF THEM WILL EVER DIE,,THERE SPIRTS LIVE ON,,THEY ARE NOT GONE,,THEY WATCH OUR MEN,,IN THE BATTLEFIELDS,,UNTILL THE WARS END,

  • reat version!! thanks mate!

  • started listening to this and i got a wierd feeling inside. almost a sadnesss with teary eyes. 5/5 man great vid.

  • "We can live together

When all the world is free"

  • can someone tell me who the singer is?

    Thanks

  • great! really! great!

  • very beautiful song :´)

  • the ultimate and inevitable dream of war is ego .. nothing else

  • Not true. Dream of war is honor land and security only reason war has ever been fought sadly there all stupid reasons.

  • Honor is a stupid reason, land? Maybe. Security - definitely not.

Some wars are fought for self defence.

So - the reason for which BRITAIN fought WW2 was not a stupid reason at all.

  • I got chills. Band of Brothers is one of the best series ever to be on television.

  • *sorry... brazilian people is very grateful

  • really do not know what the world would be if you were not British and the Americans, do not know how many more people would have to stop those who die could have a little peace

make sure that the people in most brasieliro and I will always be grateful for that ... Day after day... forever ..

thanks to your parents and your grandparents

    be with God

  • oh man...is so beautiful

    i'm without more words

  • I hate tose anti-america comments. I'm British, but after all, we are allies. There is a reason for war. People say the world would be better without it, but what would have happened if we didn't declare war on Nazi Germany? How many more thousands would have died. OK, so mabe they are not all evil Nazis we were shooting in WWII, and they had been called up, but nowadays people join the Taliban because they really want to slaughter innocent people and soldiers.

    ^Wise words were never spoken!

  • Gundog360 you I and a few others are the only people who care. Most people don't there just ignorant or stupid. The great sacrifice Men who fought this war gave diserves respect. I just HOPE that one day "we can live together when all ther world is free". The sacrifice of the men who fought in Europe and the Pacific, and Africa will always be rember just as they should be. They gave their lifess for the country. USSR,Britian,U.S.A,Poland,France all are heroes in the eyes of the world.

  • Indeed, we are all one band of brothers.

  • If all the bad arabs and ppl in Israel would stop fiting like hell now than we are one big band of brothers ;)

  • THE singer. it's an amateur quartet and orchestra.

  • I agree with you dude, but just because the germans were the "bad guys" doesn't mean you should just forget them too, they faught for their familys, land, and too retake the land stolen from them after WW1. Not all of them were bad, yes i'm sure some were bad but some we're draged into the war.

  • "Land stolen from them after WW1"?

What land are you talking about, exactly?

  • Yes, that was the line Hitler "sold" to the Germans. And you have swallowed it, hook, line and sinker. In fact, from the eleventh century to the middle of the 16th century, Poland was an independent kingdom. Then, for the next 2 centuries, it was part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. It wasn't till the late 18th century, when Poland was divided up like a piece of cake by Russia, Austria and Prussia, that what later became known as Germany gained control over part of Poland.

  • The people spoke german, and most still do today. Regardless of if it was it's own country it wasn't at the time of WW1, During WW1 it was part of germany and it was taken away after WW1.

  • hehe this nazi born in the wrong country!!! try to say your ideas on a parade of WW2 veterans....., if USA go to war against Germany... you gonna shoot to your neighbours??? hahahaha.........

  • They didn't and they don't. . And it isn't even true that "during WW! it was part of Germany" because only part of historic Poland had been occupied by Prussia, Austria and Russia also stole parts of it. As I said, they divided it up like a piece of cake. Its independence was restored after WW1. It wasn't "stolen" from Germany.

  • Well I guess everyone should have behaved and not started a war then. If the Polish wanted to rejoin Germany that bad they could....then again I doubt Russia would ever allow it. Then we get World War 3 where everyone loses.

  • 14 ramsteinfun88 haha Where did you egg hatch ? Poland was in 966 .Wtf are u talking about ?????? You krauts are stupid like your führer and think you're better than other ppl but you're wrong. You had better read some books about three partitions of Poland before put the shit like this on YouTube.

  • listen m8 ur just some nazi wannabe bastard that doesnt belong on this earth, your rascist, homophobic and you belong in hell, you and your hitler ways can burn you gay mother fucker.

  • So let me get this strait. Because you clearly know everything about me and what i beleive in. I'm a gay wannabe nazi bastard? And i have a question for you, If i'm homophobic how can i be gay? You resulting to insults simply shows me you have nothing better to do then sit at home and degrade people you don't agree with. 14/88

  • dude your just some attention seeker like every other skin head nazi wannabe, whats the point worshipping hitler etc nothings ganna happen dude your not ganna turn us all into nazi rascist, homophobic, jew killing people, so why dont you grow up a bit and leave your moms basement and get a job. oh and im jewish so KISS my RABBI's ASS!

  • Actualy i'm not an attention seeker, I recall posting a comment about the song. I don't worship Hitler, But you being imature and making pointless personal attacks on me is starting to make being a skin head look like a good decision. So how about you continuing making pointless attacks, you find a point .

  • I dunno man. I dont think it's possible to like a guy who did order the killing of at least 12 million people. Because of this, there will always be a stain on the German people no matter if they supported him or not. What the Nazi party did in a positive light will forever be pushed aside by the genocide and horrible treatment of a people.

  • Without hitler the world you know today wouldn't be the same. Because of hitler pushing his scientists to make better war weapons they invented the jet (Messershmitt 262), and the rocket (V1 and V2), and countless others i don't know off the top of my head.

Good to finaly talk to someone takks to me in an educated manner instead of being an asshole not agreeing with what i beleive in. Have a good day. :)

  • you know, his scientists were jewish, and hitler himself was part jewish. i don't know why everyone is ragging on you, all that is true. the Germans made a lot of technology that propelled the world forward. not saying that what the Nazis used it for was right, it was horrible and they should all die.

  • Actualy most of his jewish scientists went America, and made the atomic bomb for the Americans. And no offence i'd just like to ask you. How is you saying "All nazis should die" Any different from nazis thinking all jews should die?

  • jewish people don't want to exterminate any certain race just because they are who they are. sorry i didn't mean to offend you. i know there are certain types of Nazis who don't have the same extremist ideals that hitler had.

  • Actualy, the jews are having there own holocaust in palistine and their own land, clensing it of musslims. Look up the video "Jewish war crimes" on youtube. They hate musslims. And musslims hate them.

  • so, do you hate the palestinians too? im trying to understand why you think the way you do, and i think im making progress.

  • In a way yes, but they only want the land taken from them back. Israel is the only country in the world that was made from the land of bits and pieces of another country. They were put there because the british didn't want them after WW2. And the palestinians had no choice. Ever sense then the palestinians have been trying to get their land back. So, yes in a way i hate palestinians for bringing and unneccisary war up, but at the same time, it's to gain back the land that they rightfully own.

  • and now, just because you hate jews because they caused a war with palestine, everyone says you are racist just because they are jewish.

HEY EVERYBODY!!! JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE JEWISH DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE IN THE RIGHT!!! they are not immune to hatred just because they went through a holocaust.

  • Actually, the Jews lived there for thousands of years before that (occupation by the Roman Empire in the B.C. years), and they didn't leave until well after the founding of Islam, when the Arabic tribes captured the area and killed everyone that didn't leave or convert.

This doesn't justify any wrongdoing on either side regarding the current conflict, but too many people have a short-sighted view on the reasons behind it.

  • Also his favorite music artist, aruthor and play write were also jewish. yet he let them be excused. Now Hitler was a great leader but he took a bad road. But whethier he was right or wrong depends on your perpective. Yes he did to terrible things but the world we live in needed Hitler and his men to create it.

  • A great tribute to an imfamous war

  • Beautiful.

  • War makes you wonder, who are really heroes, villains, and then who are just soldiers, humans following the way of the world.

  • Amen

  • i know i seen it but i thing these soldiers fighting with germans soldiers

  • i like this movie its so sad damn and all stroy is true hmmm they was good soldiers... :( god bless them all rest in peace and god bless (AMERICA)..... PEACE FROM KOSOVA....

  • Its not a movie... Its a set of 10 one hour episodes produced by HBO. And about Kosovo... Its all but not peace...

  • its good to see a pro-america comment, sometimes i see a lot of anti-america comments. its not that i dont think that they arent entitled to an opinion, its just that this war we are fighting is not being backed by MOST (not all) americans. because of President Bush, america now has an image of being pro-violence, and anotion that wants to beat everyone into submission. lets hope president elect barrack obama can restore americas image. if you disagree, please post a comment and dont swear.

  • Nevertheless... The fact that I hate everything that has to do with military doesn't stop me from sincerely saluting to those poor souls that lost their lives during all of the wars. The majority of them were just plain simple people simply put in military shoes and ordered to welcome any bullet with their bodies if required. To those people I do salute.

  • so you would be perfectly fine with hitler ruling the world if he took it over with out firing a shot?

  • No. I would be perfectly fine without people which blindly follow ideas lacking a simple trace of common sense. To pretend that any dictator alone was responsible for so many deaths is perhaps one of the silliest ideas existing. Strip Hitler of all of his instruments of control and what do you get?Just a crazy lunatic followed by people which tend to blindly follow any trace of (false) hope during hard times. Yes its true... The majority of people are just sheeps. They always look for a shepard.

  • That's not fair to say that the Germans were nothing but sheep looking for shepherds. Look at the conditions they faced: they were broke, lost all power, defeated, and forced to pay back reparations (something which was entirely impossible) for a war in which they were not the only culprits. ALthough Hitler disgusts me, he did do something good for Germany: they made Germans feel proud to be German. The Germans gained their self respect and pride back. That is why they followed Hitler.

  • Hitler wasn't the only cause... but he was the spark for every fire.

Churchill was anti-German long before anyone knew who Hitler was. Hitler started the aggression, though.

Stalin didn't trust Germany, he didn't trust anyone. But, they managed to agree to a non-aggression treaty... which Hitler broke when he invaded the Soviets.

There was distrust, and hate.... but Hitler threw the first punch in both cases.

  • Well actualy the stalin was massing troops and starting production of weapons and tanks so hitler dicided to swing first, he didn't exactly want to, yes he wanted russia, but not at the moment while he was fighting britian.

  • It wasn't "false" hope, any type of hope is real even if the source of the hope is unjust, Hitler made the german people proud again, after WW1 the german people were left with a huge bill they couldn't pay not to mention the allies stole land from them which made matters worse.

  • true. and he also got that land back and then betrayed Britian and France... but made a mistake when trying to fuck with the Russians... they were the most powerful at that time and we all know it... and if they didnt turn who know what would have happened...

  • I agree, thank god for the Russians and their determination! We Allies would not have won WWII if not for Hitlers mistake to try to take the Eastern front.

Thankyou all WWII vets that gave their lives!

  • As most of the people do I guess I hate war with all my guts and soul since I feel that none has the right to take another mans life for no reason whatsoever. To me the one that kills "in the name of the country" is either a prisoner of his beliefs or his stupidity. That is the only reason why I develop strong feelings while watching this movie and especially while listening to this hart and tear breaking score... If nothing the music will set you free... Long live the everlasting tremor of air!

  • We Stand alone together.

  • Awesome guy..Easy COmpany Rules

  • Who sung this version of this song?
