Hawaiian Airlines now has 5 Airbus 330 200 like this one. They have 16 on order and another 5 options. In adittion, Hawaiian also has an order for 6 Airbus 350 800 and another 6 options. The Airbus 350 800 will arrive to the fleet from 2017.
I love the Hawaiian culture , the dances and their language. I had the chance to be on your islands for 3 times and it was a trip of a lifetime. Many greetings to Mr.and Mrs. Milovina from Maui. You guys are fantastic. Domo arigato. Aloha from Berlin / Germany
Hello. Thanks for a nice video, I have a question: why did you opt for the 200 series of the a330 instead of the bigger 300 series? I ask because I know the range of the 300 is more than enough to reach New York or even Sydney. Wouldnt you have preferred the extra seats or do you prefer range flexibility?
@GreekLegend: negative, why, they have quite new B767 and their A330-200s are brand new. The 787 is of course newer and more economical but the a330-200 is perfect for the next decade or so. With the A350 on order, I don't believe HA will follow the queue (of 900 ordered planes).
@ikolkyo967 why? be objective please. those are more than 150 seats extra per plane (bearing in mind that a A330-300 is more economical than the B777-200 so they would order B777-300ER). They don't need those seats.
they should have used their a330's for transpacific routes. not US. as the a330's are more fuel efficient and more economical for long haul rather than their 767's.
Recently flew an HA A330 on the LAX-HNL run....awesome aircraft! I will NEVER fly any other airline to Hawaii! If I can't fly Hawaiian Airlines.....I'll swim!
@mrfofboy the 767 will still be there but the A330 are lot bigger than the 767, they'll be using the Airbus at bigger airport like the flight out of LAX San Fransisco, and other big airports, we still get Boeing 767 300 flying into Phoenix Sky harbor airport in Arizona.
Ahh this video puts a smile on my face every time I watch it. It reminds me of the "Aloha Spirit". You guys are mos def filling in Aloha's shoes! I see the service has improved tenfold!
A really uncomfortable plane (and unsafe, I might add). Alaska Airlines flies an ALL Boeing fleet, anD has amazing service to Hawaii. I agree with everybody here... if it ain't Boeing I'm not going!
@miamad Actually, the A330 has had one fatal event out of 3.7 million flights, vs the 767 at six fatal events out of 15.4 million flights, giving the A330 a crash rate of 0.27 and the 767 a crash rate of 0.36.. So I'm not really sure what you mean by "unsafe".. The A330 has a lower crash rate than the 727, 737, 747 and 767, and about equal to the 757.
Of wide body aircraft, the A330 ranks 3rd in safety statistics, only after the A340 and Boeing 777.
Love Hawaiian airlines. Always a pleasent way to fly back to the islands from las vegas. Hope to work for them some time in the near future...You guys are da best!!!
What a great airline, a fantastic high tech beauty flying the Pacific. Congratulations to Hawaiian, will look forward to seeing this beauty at Las Vegas.

Could anybody please tell me?; Are Hawaiian's 767's to be phased out or are the A330's additional planes to the fleet?

@mrfofboy Our Airbus A330 planes are being added to our fleet so we can further our commitment to provide the highest quality in our markets.

@mrfofboy I heard that eventually the 767 will be replaced by the A330 in the future. but i think for now they'll keep both aircraft.
