I would have told that cop that if a muslim was preaching or an athiest or a hindu or anyone other than a Christian was preaching, they would have never called it disturbance or anything else. Every false religion gets a free pass in the USA but not Christians. Thats because it is politically correct to champion everything but Christian. Hmmm? WHat does that tell you?

Coercion, manipulation and police action against citizens for speaking does not fall under freedom of speech. It falls under tyranny, fear mongering and conscription. The first amendment was drawn together because of the consequences the crown forced upon the people for speaking out against the crown, for dissent. The first amendment was written with the understanding that a free man should be free to speak his mind without consequence even in dissent.

Not sure how this went litigation-wise but you have the right to free speech but when you started using a loud-speaker that's when you began disturbing the peace.

Next time just exercise your free speech without a loud-speaker and learn to admit when you're wrong and stop using the first amendment as an excuse to break the law.

A bit of a silly video. The problem here is that both sides are legally inacurate and have misguided knowledge of the law. This case would not be allowed to be filed and would be beaten with a demurrer, however, the cop also was wrong for her rational but so was the "preacher" sort of fun when both parties are inacurate. The preacher does not understand that the cop was not stepping on his first amendment rights, yet the cop was also wrong as to her explanation.

ACLJ is who I plan to have represent me... he said it is a very clear case that she was wrong....No, I didn't report her to her chief... to be honest, we have had so many problems in Richmond police, when it comes to 1st Amendment speech, they need more than just a 'talking to' if anything is going to change in that respect...

I wasnt there, but my opinon is this,..freedom of speech doesnt mean you can say what ever you want ,..any where. Its just like going to a movie theater you just cant start talking in a movie theater and interuppting the movie everyone came to see. Freedom of speech is permitted as long as you follow the ordinances (laws) regarding freedom of speech in the city or county you reside and as long as those governments do not effect your 1st ammendment rights. or federal policy.

You need to get very clear on the law, then obey it strictly, then get arrested and file a Federal Civil Rights lawsuit under Title 42 Section 1983 of the United States Code. If you were OK on the law when she ordered you away, (and remember, they are going to lie about that and say you said and did things that actually WERE disturbing the peace, especially after they talk with their lawyers) then you should file the lawsuit NOW. You can get information online on how to file without a lawyer
