@DianeDi By now, there are many other sources of independent news feeds i.e RT and Al-Jazeera, which on first appearance, may seem quite daunting, but well worth listening to. The 'orthodox' news feeds, Reuters & Associated Press, which feed Fox, CNN, BBC etc are not involved in the above mentioned independent news.

Or you could simply purchase meat from a local farmer so that you are aware of everything that goes into it. Its typically cheaper, and you get a better quality meat most of the time.

Perhaps, and this is only a suggestion, you might want to watch the best documentary ever made about how people treat and use animals. It's called EARTHLINGS. Just go to Google video and search EARTHLINGS. You might have a different way of looking at meat or flesh in general.

The nature of animal life is being a phagocyte, or in other words, gaining energy from an external source. Every single animal must kill to gain energy, its either killing plants or other animals to gain that energy.

There is nothing wrong with eating animals, it would be as silly as asking a wolf to become a vegan because when he kills rabbits, he does so "inhumanely".
