man he has a shit load of Taylor's..i have a messily 2...lol..that add up to almost 10k...he has the Koa GS here very nice, the wood just take's to long to open up..but when it does look out, tonality from the heavens...lol..ohh great song...just dig Travis man
@ltuomela Yeah Travis' favorite of the bunch is the Jumbo that usually sits in the middle of the bunch. I've been priveliaged enough to play all of his guitars and own one of his older one's and I must say my favorite is by far the Koa's.
@rotaryrebel is that right..very cool....you play their electrics yet..whew nice..me im a Indian rosewood guy, like i said it just takes to long for Koa to open up, i want that full sound NOW..lol..nothing beats a Taylor man,i mean nothing..i have been playing for 23 years had my hands on just about every kind of acoustic, nothing can touch um....and its PRS for electrics for me..lookin real hard at Taylor's new solid body though....
@ltuomela yeah I attended a Taylor Road Show last month w/ Bob Taylor had him sign the headstock on my rare custom acoustic/electric Big Baby and they had several guitars from the electric line with them and demo'd them for us and then allowed us to play any of the 50+ guitars they brought with them. I'm currently utterly blown away by the versatility of the T5 line. My buddy Billy preferred the T3's with the Bigsby tailpiece.
@ltuomela :D and just so you guys realize "More Words" in this video is only a partial version of the full song - the full song clocks in around 7 min by itself.
@ltuomela taylors def have a better tone wen jacked in but a martin has more bass . i need a taylor myself. i never got to play his but i never asked lol. he was in a mood so i never botherd to ask lol
@flatbranch1the tone all depends on the wood my friend ..if you are looking for a good all around tone go with Indian rosewood or ovankol which has the same properties as rose wood just a bit more mid range is all..and grand symphony is the ticket...so more bass and that,it all depends on the wood..personally i think martins and say Gibson are bought strictly for the name...none have a better pick up system then Taylor thats proven..the neck set design is the best in the industry as well..
@ltuomela i know that BUT i go up to lansing to elderly music and play all the taylors and martins. the only taylor that has the low end like a martin is the jumbo models. i very much agree their tone is mmi will say more fantsy and clean crisp. a martins loud and nasty. mines mahogany with a spruce top and its a lower end model ...ran about 900$ but its as good as alot of the others. id die to get a koa taylor
@flatbranch1 there ya go..you got it my friend, not much know what you and i have said...and the Koas as bob Taylor puts it,is as good as it gets besides rosewood and aged guitar's,i have a friend with a 77 Taylor! bob refinished it himself says it was one of his first a 3 piece back rosewood..very cool man..i have prices on all models if you need to know,i deal factory direct with Taylor..i myself want a 12 string Taylor really bad...lol..a GS Koa or rosewood..big money man, big money..lmao
I know More Words is pretty old and more simple than the newer stuff, but I really hope it's on Purple, or at least released on a bonus disc or something, it's one of my all time faves.
What a Great song, with such truth! I wish I could travel to see DotN again & again...ect! I could never get tired of His music! Since the time I saw them, not too long ago, til now, I still have "Days" in my CD player. : ) ~ Rock On~
