The flat me and my family had was really smart. You couldn't leave food anywhere for any period of time without her getting it... But they make it up by being so cute when they look so ashamed of what they've done :)

Opportunistic is the perfect word here. We love our flatcoat, and this video makes us (well, me mostly) laugh every time because this dog and ours are crafty in the same way. I mean, he's not even done locking the door and the dog is up on the counter. Not even three seconds, let alone 30 minutes. Its the second look that really kills me though. Love it. Thanks for posting.

Our dog has stolen bread, tortillas, rolls, and even amish bread batter from the counter. To help it go down, he also took a crystal butter dish.

All these things were taken out into the yard though a doggie door. He definitely has the bread monkey on his back.

lol my dog has eaten 3-5 loaves of bread when we were gone and ate the plastic too.

My dog is a Flat coat mix with Bassad Hound.

Flat coats are the best dogs out there.

About 10% of the dogs are allergic to wheat. Mine died just before here 16th birthday and she loved to steal "eat" bread pancakes etc.

Chocolate, grapes and porkmeat are deadly. Except raw pork.

@wtp1981 16 is very old for a flat coat...are you sure she didnt just pass away from old age because the average life expectancy of a flat coat is only 9 or 10

My flatcoat drinks water out of my cats' water fountain that I keep on top of the kitchen table. I don't have it hooked up and running though. She steals the cats' water in the middle of the night. Caught her once with her paws on the table drinking out of it. At night, she goes to bed when we do, but in the middle of the night she's naughty and we wake up to messes! lol

ive got a flattie and a flat/golden cross, the flattie which is the father is always trying to fit as many toys in his mouth at once so as to have them all, its hilarious watching him struggle with ball after sock after ball after hoop etc etc
