  • Wow. Don't let Stevie Wonder sing one of your songs.. that song will be different afterwards. As ya'll can see., I am having & needing Stevie today. Feed your soul! good people.

  • If the record companies sign great artists like stevie wonder and others I will start purchasing cd's again.

  • only someone that knows chords could end it like that!!!!!......genius!!!

  • When you got it, you got it.

  • For anybody to suggest that Stevie Wonder has so called peaked, you are not a true fan, also you don't know shit about music! In what way has he peaked? He is every bit the multi-instrumentalist he has always been! Stevie's songwriting ability is still the best, check out "I CAN'T IMAGINE LOVE WITHOUT YOU" those lyrics will blow you away,in fact right after Michael Jackson's death, Stevie wrote "IN THE ARMS OF GOD". As for Stevie's voice,he sung "KEEP OUR LOVE ALIVE" early this year.

  • Beautiful~~Stevie!

  • Stevie !!!!!!!

  • As Jermaine Jackson once said about Stevie "what can u say about a man who has gotten every compliment, won just about every award?" I have not the words to say how I feel about this man,he along with Rick James are my idols until death claims me.

  • @mrinnervisionz I am and always be a TAKE 6 fan. Ive enjoyed Stevies music since I was alittle girl growing up inthe 70-80's. GOD forbid when Stevie Passes away.. .The WORLD will morn him and miss him forever. But..... After going to a Take 6 concert that had a special guest (Stevie wonder), Stevie made an announcement on stage...He said "If I should go before my time.... I want... TAKE 6 to sing at my memorial"

Imagine THAT coming from someone like Stevie!!!

    Incredible

  • stevie, u r da bomb. i gotta c u in concert tho.

  • i think its a great performance and i'm a massive fan of stevie, but he's first two lines of this track are very shanky and a little off key

  • ÁÁÁÁÁÁÁÁÁÁÁÁÁÁÁÁ

  • Michael Jackson once called Stevie Wonder the higher Prophet of music

  • @mrtiongson Marvin Gaye also described Stevie's music as simply cosmic,Herbie Hancock was asked in an interview years ago,"why don't you(Herbie) play the clavinet? " his answer was"because Stevie Wonder plays it".

  • that was TIGHT!!!!! Damn Stevie!!!!!

  • The Genius of Music Stevie Wonder!

  • ninety nine and a half won't do, ninety nine and a half won't do, no no no no no no no.

  • I meant he nails this song, not the man! lol

  • Stevie is a genius and any song he covers is gonna be amazin! But..... James Ingram NAILS this man!

  • look at Quincy Jones on 0:35, he's grooing :-)

  • One voice for all songs...that sums up Stevie Wonder. And the harmonica if off the chain. He's got it!

  • A musical God!!!!!! What a joy it is to hear Stevie!!!!

  • James Ingram owns this song.

  • @MrCafiero Love Stevie but you're right, this tune has James Ingram written all over it!

  • @MrCafiero James Ingram just sang it. Kathy Wakefield, Ben Wright, Tony Coleman wrote it. Matters fact, it's not even on his album.

  • It's one hell of a thing. You can write your own song, sing it and get famous for it. But the last person you want to let get their hands on is it Stevie......Cause it might not be yours anymore after that!!!

How awsome can one man be?

  • @SovsBorg Absolutely! Stevie is the man. Thankfully the original is sung by James Ingram, another fantastic singer, so Stevie didn't crush him.

To take your idea: the worst thing you can do is produce a song with various famous artists and be Stevie part of it. He can't help it, he will be the person bringing it to the next level and runs away with it (We are the World, That's what Friends are for)......

  • @SovsBorg LOL You said it all! I remember watching this and wondering why Stevie didn't record it first. Brilliant!

  • @SovsBorg Totally right.

  • the LIVING LEGEND!

  • does anyone know where i can download the tv special of "quincy jones - the first 50 years"? (where this stevie excerpt comes from)

  • Stevie, Stevie, Stevie you are one gifted brotha.

  • it's like he has a mod wheel and pitch bend attached to his throat... this dude is a walking miracle...

  • the LIVING LEGEND!

  • Aint he a "Wonder" Love ya stevie!!! :)

  • last great singer that remains us

  • Stevie crazy

  • MJ may be gone, but lucky us we still have Stevie Wonder.

  • My man Stevie!

  • if you found the hundred ways and still she goes away leave her be now is not the time.....

  • This is EXACTLY why; Classic is Timeless, Bigtime Zeen:)!They Dont Make Them Like they use to, but this Definitely the Romance Lovers' Passion of Creme-Dela-Creme song Zeen:)!

    Luv&Happines!

    Trebor

  • "Screaming" hehehhehe niceeeeeeeeeeeee

  • o yea didnt someone else sing this song?

  • James Ingram on Quincy Jones' '81 The Dude album.

  • Q was concerned that the band did not drive the beat. You can see it early in the song. Q would nver allow a song to get behind. Stevie drove it home. Great Job.

  • This is so, so beautiful!

Stevie always manages to make a great song his very own.Wish he did this far more often these days (like Michael MacDonald's awesome survey of the Motown catalogue).

    Check-out Quincy lovin' thjis rendition.

  • daaaaaaaaaaaayum

  • Forget Michael, this guy is the Man

  • Harsh but true!

  • What he did with the microphone at 2:06 was REALLY neat.

  • lol looked kewl

  • this is wy the man is a legend

  • naaaa..he ripped this!!! James Ingram WISHED!!!!!! go Stevie!!!! good vid.

  • You'll see different..but you won't see better...

  • only a musician can do what he did at the end. he knows what the chord is......Did yall hear that crazy thing he did at the end!!??? he sang a crazy chord change.....

  • I loved . . . 99 and a half won't do! 99 and a half won't do! I was humming this all day long today, lol! 99 and a half won't do! 99 and a half won't do! 99 and a half won't do! 99 and a half won't do! 99 and a half won't do! 99 and a half won't do! Stevie makes anything HOT!
  • hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!

    But he CAN sing!

  • ..and what did James say about this one..? ;-)

    It's great!

  • Hes so awesome! but i think he tried to hard in the end, i didint like all the extra riffting but overall he is still a great performer!

  • I love Stevie! His skin, his hair, his smile,, his voice, his spirit, his soul, his beautifulness.

  • You should listen to Stevie's unreleased song "Spread the love". A great , great song.

  • Great great music, love that guy. Costume adviser needs to be sacked tho'.

  • Stevie´s version is reeeally great, especially the harmonica solo. Why not a duet with Ingram on this one?

  • Thanks my friend ;)

  • whou !! stevie is wonderful !!!

  • AWESOME VOCALS...BAD SUIT....LOL

  • stevie..you are brilliant and so very handsome. melanie

  • amazing.........Go Stevie.

  • Is there anything that Stevie ever did that wasn't brilliant? Thank God we have him!

  • I ttally agree with you, Stevie is a genius & we must thank God we have him with us, be forever

  • had him

  • I just called to say i love you

  • Excellent point! This song was Stevie's commercial song, and yes it is a little on the cheezy side. Yet with Stevie's voice it is great and very musical. There is an honesty and positive energy (not to mention his flawless uplifting singing talent) which only Stevie himself can deliver. Stevie would be able to turn much worse songs into something great.

  • Fair enough yeah.

  • stevie has great vocal techniques

  • had great vocal techniques

  • How good is this? The WONDERFUL Stevie singing one of my fave non-Stevie songs!!!!

  • I LOVE STEVIE!!!! I LOVE HIM!!!

  • loved

  • I'd take a bullet for Stevie.

  • The brother is just simply BAD nvjharmonica

  • stevie wonder is the number 1 in the world, genious.i do not accept this comment.he always is great.

  • Stevie has been better..that's true..but he still the man!!!

  • did u see quincy :)

  • as a stevie obessive... i agree with all the comments about his voice these days. i suspect he might have damaged his voice in the early eighties and changed his technique. he does the nasal SLS thing now and it does nothing for me.

saying that, stevie's worst is better than 99.99999999% of the earth's best!

    :-)

  • He had voice surgery in 1967 and was sent to Seth Riggs for vocal training. He's been using the SLS technique since then. He still sounds great!!!!!

  • You gotta love Stevie!!!

  • They say that Luther could sing the telephone book, well so can Stevie! Such great talent! Watching the BET awards and seeing them only getting on their feet when Envogue, SWV, and TLC came out shows you something about todays wannabes, they are just wannabes! You got to grab the crowd, don't let em go until the last note! The blueprint is on the wall, all they need to do is slowdown, put back on their clothes, and look! Peace!

  • This is breathtaking! What love in the room!! It just don't get better!!!!!!!!

  • His phrasing is amazing!

  • I hate when artists have to maintain some ridiculous expectation of fans. No matter how good an album he releases, it'll always be compared to the 70's. It's why every album Michael Jackson releases is compared to Thriller. Stevie's a genius, maybe he peaked when he was in his 20's, that just proves what a genius he is. What can any of us say we've done by his age? His voice is STILL AWESOME. He actually covered Donny H. in concert, and it was AMAZING.

Stevie is, was and always will be the man.

  • i cant understand what you are so annoyed about ahahaha...anyway..stevie's one of those we call as "eternal". ^__^

  • I'm annoyed because I'm tired of hearing Stevie always compared to his 70's work. "It's not as good as his 70's stuff." "His voice isn't as good now as it was in the 70's". Who cares? He's still amazing. I personally think he gets better all the time.

  • la cancion no es de stevie pero la canta de maravilla

  • I'd say he's ready for the National Anthem.

  • lol yea i agree too. "I'd like to thank my Mom my producer the soundman the little one in the 5th row my caddie my pet gecko, sylvia etc etc."

  • As a big Donny and Stevie fan, I'm so sorry to say, that the Stevie from the '90 and millenium is all about the technic in singing without the feeling he once start with. Please don't get me wrong, I think he's a great soul artist (pioneer) but between every 2 seconds he starts a vocal technic..instead of a basic soulfuly harmonie.

Stevie is a great musician but he needs to get basic again like the Stevie from the '70

I like the James version rather then this version!

    Terry'Soul

  • I don't get this. I just think he got better as a singer and shows it off sometimes like in this video, but he hasn't lost any soul or feeling. And honestly I prefer his voice from late '70s through late '90s to his early '70s voice, especially live. His phrasing in those early '70s concerts was pretty unmusical sometimes, like he was in a rush to get the lyrics out.

  • I agree with vandelay. It would be a shame if Stevie didn't use his pipes to blow. I mean, Latley is a great song, but I find the version he sings on his tours to be superior to the version on the Hotter Than July album because his voice matured and developed in his late-30's, 40's and 50's.

That's the great thing about Stevie though: you've five decades of awesomeness to pick from.

  • this is how i see it

donny hathaways voice carries more air

    and stevies is higher pitched

but i like both voices equally

and i think your right his music has lost alot of quility since the 70s maybe it was somthin to do with the car crash to his head sadly in the early 70s stevies voice did carry better ,it was way more dynamic esspecially in the 60s

but thts just life , everybody passes there prime eventually

  • The way you see it is fucking retarded. Songs in the Key of Life came after the car crash...Lately came after the car crash...even In Square Circle is great in its way. In this video, Stevie is only at the beginning of his vocal decline.

  • my opinion dude my opinion

    dont wet yourself

  • Stevie is a phenomenal singer/writer/musican all rolled up into one. And he performs it sightless, so my hat is always off to him. Steve has grown tremendously in his music and he is constantly evolving into something more wonderful than we could ever witness. His live concerts are always going to sound different from the studio where you have a chance to perfect before releasing.

  • Well,I give he benefit of a doubt. Stevie is not giving a concert and the appearance is not all about him. He had to kick ass and get off the stage and make way for other performers. It's an honor to see him in any format. When he do an album, he never forget his true fans and what we want to hear.

  • Well, all Stevie and the other artist was giving are snippets of the song. There were so many artist to pay tribute to Quincy and what do you expect when it's a rush! Stevie is still bad. He has to keep up with the times, so he is the one who started all the voice techniques.

  • Man, thanks for these rare videos. Awesome.

  • I love james ingram, but i could always see stevie singing this first.

  • Yes this is truly a blessing

  • Stevie is magic! I didn't know he sang this song. I had James' version that's fantastic, but this one's is something special!
