The new Gingerbread (yes, more than a year after the 2.3 release :')) UI sucks on this phone. If you didn't update yet, consider not doing it, if the Froyo built suits your needs. The skin is downright ugly. You can turn it of on the home screen, but not on the appscreen (as far as I know). It has like Samsung Touch Wizz like icons, but more ugly. And there is no graphical effect when switching from the home screen to the appscreen. Strange, since Huawei copied the Gingerbread effect for Froyo.

I Got This Phone: Cause the comopnenst are the cheapest ones (makes this so cheap) this haves some issues, if you call somebody or you got call it lags sometimes like you talk blaablaa and then you cant hear you buddy anymore or he cant hear you, ITS REALLY ANNOYING, its not my phone is broke, friends have said the same (same phone) so i prefer galaxy ace or something :) but this is good phone everying is smooth and nice! thumbs up so everybody can see this!

It is an fantastic phone. I just replaced my year-old HTC Desire with this and it rocks. I installed CWM 4.0.0.5 and Oxygen on it and it's blazing fast! It's well made as well compared to the plastic HTC. Overclocks up to 1.8ghz using a custom kernel (if you managed to get a good unit).

Overall, I am really pleased. Bought it for 150 euros. I should easily get that by selling my Desire, or even more. The brand is strong with HTC.

@baumkleid you can. There aren't official updates to 2.3 yet, but there are 3 custom ROMs for that phone you wanna try: MIUI, Oxygen and CyanogenMod 7. First two are quite stable and almost everything's working. Buy that phone, it's a great deal, don't repeat my mistake with Acer Liquid E =(
