@ptowndrummr dude that was for visual effect at the beggining they didnt even play matched the entire time. besides a drumline can play whatever grip they want. at one point matched grip was going to b the only grip everyone was going to be used but they decided to keep traditional grip.

dude...not disrespect but the cavaliers are the visual pioneers of drum corps...although im not a huge fan of the show 2002 cavaliers the visual stuff they did was wayyyyy before blue devils ever thought of moving around while playing, at least doing the visual things that add to the 'demand' portion of the score...

Hay sorry guys but both of you are pretty pathetic, everyone has there own belifs. Just learn to tack it and if you don't like it then just forget about it. I mean come on guys get over your selfs. K. But on the contraty Blue Devils and Cavaliers are two of the best drumlines on the planet, I say, but they both have their differences. And both of them had to work for it. It doesn't matter how you play something its how you perform it. And both do it very well.

the way i see things with body work is that there's only a few things you can actually do with a drum. which is why, it's gonna be hard to be innovative visually in that aspect.

book-wise, i like what BD plays because of all the notes they play, not necessarily because of its musicality. casella's writing style with the cavies is more musical IMO. i like them both equally, but it's a bit like comparing apples and oranges.
