Song for America, Point of Know Return & Play the Game Tonight are my Top Three Fave Kansas Songs. Vinyl Confessions is One of my Fave 1982 Vinyl Albums. Kansas Rocks! HOOAH!!
........ this is when John Elefante started his public singing career after, and along with, his music producing business !!...awesome cultivated voice !
Kansas rocks, and this is one of their best songs. Carry On Wayward Son, Dust in the Wind, awesome songs as well. Not much of a Queen fan though, especially their early stuff. Actually, as a kid in the mid-70's, I was a severe KISS fan. I still love Ace Frehley. Even now he can shred with the best of em. The 70's & 80's rock was and is the best.
Queen and Kansas toured together during the 1974-75 era. Brian May and Kerry Livgren in particular became friends. The bands had much mutual respect for each others musicianship, Freddie was known to hold Steve Walsh in respect as a powerful vocalist and keyboardist. This band friendship was the impetus for Roger Taylors vocals.
This song always gives me goosebumps and I've heard it over 50 times... I think it's one of the best songs ever made... Especially this wonderful beginning...!
Wow, I didn't know about Roger Taylor either... how in the world did someone think to put those two together? Did they just happen to be in the same place or was it a planned thing? Pretty cool.
The three songs Roger did with Kansas I posted. There are rumors he did backing vocals on some songs on their 'Audio-Visions' album but they haven't been confirmed.

I've played in a Queen cover band, and played Kansas also. Never knew of this. Fan of both bands, naturally.
I'm amazed.

I think losing The Game was worth it to listen to this song, haha.
This is actually the first Kansas song I've heard, I think I'll look into them more.
