  • you fuckin nailed the Lay it Down riff man

  • stock tubes??

  • why is it in the closet? does it make the sound better?

  • the question is... does it matter if you get a 2203, 2204, 2205, etc??

  • i thought jcm 800s were 1 channel amps that could only produce clean sounds. Is there a distortion knob or switch on the 800"s

  • Jeez, this is why there should be history of metal in school. The marshall jcm 800 2203 was the first amp to have a pre amp volume, before that the amp had to go rediculously loud to achieve distortion. This amp has SOME pre amp distortion, but not much! couple the pre amp + the loudness power amp distortion and you get MASSIVE MARSHALL SOUND! This guy is using a pedal to get more gain, because chances are if he used it al full volume the house would fall down.

  • To make it sound better grab a noise gate. It cleans up the tone a lot and is ABSOLUTE quiet. Also, ditch the pedal. IMO, true tube tones is the best. PEACE and you got mad skills. Nice rig man! :D

  • Could this amp do early Metallica w/o a boost? THANKS AND KEEP ON ROCKING!

  • James used to use a slightly modified Plexi, and then I think they used 800's for Lightning, so yes, it easily could.

  • But James also used distortion pedals on the first two albums. Now I think Kirk used stock Marshalls...

  • lol he hides it in the closet so it gets less loud i should start doing that

  • Any pedals?

  • Sounds better then Mesa Boogie ))...

  • pretty cool
