I wonder if the US open is for PBA members only? I know John Nolen was in it, but he got his PBA card in like 2005 or something. I wanna go to one just to see how horrible/surprisingly good I do.

Usually, when it has the word "Open" in the title, it's as it says. That's why everyone wants to win it. There's over 400 entrants. And the pattern is retarded hard.
