Clark. I love you. You are not one of those anti-german bigots who can't think and are advocates to collective guilt. You are a decend man which I admire. Blessed is thee, who can admire people from other countries, and not add fuel into hatred like some other bigots here.
@000000AEA000000 If Modern germans happen to still be stubborn, which I doubt, I would love it. It has been our biggest advantage since the struggle with rome.
Germans just don't learn. My great grandpa was Prussian, moved to Canada in 1875, but man Germans are stubborn, they repeat and repeat, banging their heads against the wall, which as history proves, only really was beneficial in 1989
@mard420 PS: Germany was always a land of innovation. Even today we hold the most Patents per year in all of Europe in competition, followed by somewhat of a distance by France.
Innovation is an adjective that bites "repeating the same over and over again".
But as I said... your study of germans (even though you will deserately try to proof the reader otherwise now) is most likely adapted from hollywood movies. So..... I won't waste any time with your inadequaties.
@000000AEA000000 i didn't mean to offend any 21st century neo-nationalist German sensitivities. I sincerely hope that it is clear as glass on crystalnacht (or however its spelt) to everyone and that my inadequacies do not land me in a concentration camp. I do like German beer, classical music, the VW when it doesn't break down and cost a fortune to fix.
P.S. In canada we have something called a sense of humour, so when people make fun of us, we laugh at it.
@mard420 I could sigh loud again under your braisen spiteful tones you spit out. Your comments did not BEAR any humour you idiot, but resembled your personal opinion in your "facts". And all you can do now is calling me a neo-nationalist and implying that germans have no humour. You are not only an Idiot, but also a coward. Fortunately, I am not forced to endure you. So I leave you standing here as a testimony of yet another person who made a fool out of itself.
@Rick2010100: You completely missed the point. It was a jab at the homosexual community for claiming historical figures to be gay simply on the quality of their marriage.
@Schmidtah As a member of a old nobil prussian dynasty, i knew a lot about King Frederic and also have made some resaearches. F. t. G. King of Prussia has also had some relations with some womans - that is reported. It is also still known, that his brother (Heinrich) has been gay, and lived this livestyle with his friend on a comfortable level as a duke. Frederick has payed a whole wealth (200.000 in Gold coin) to his brother as a payment to end his homoxexual relationship with a special person.
@Schmidtah Prince Heinrich at Rheinsberg Castle instead used this money to build a secondary castle for his boy friend. But Heinrich has also been a verry capable military leader, so Frederic sayd at some times, that liberalism is one of the Prussian goles/rules. In his words: ""There may be any Fasson to his happiness""
That wouldn´t be a surprise to him. This discussion can be dated back to the late 19th century as a result of Siegmund Freuds development of the psychology.
Amazing how you can see that Adolf Hitler was using Frederick the Great's life as a plan for his own: striking Austria first, taking on the whole of Europe at once, sympathy with England, etc.
Frederick was an accomplished composer and his flute pieces are quite unforgettable. Fascinating that such a powerful man could be so musically adroit and complex.
Es lebe Old Fritz! Es lebe Preußen! Gott segne Deutschland!

Every monarch that had an unhappy marriage must be gay right?
Schmidtah 5 months ago
@Schmidtah At that time, you had marriage some one for political reasons, not for love.

Some historians believe Hitler himself was gay

Would have loved to see the look on Hitler's when he found out his hero might have been gay.
