Agreed that Lataji doesnt sound the same as she used to but the fact still remains that she has given the most heart touching songs all these years...I have been to several of her concerts and have been touched by her presence. I have felt blessed that I was in the same auditorium where she was present. Even if she didn't sing and just stood there I would still have felt her divinity. People may find her voice unbearable now but to me she is maa Saraswati and only to be worshipped.

The original version is a better representation of hers (though she was quite past her prime during that recording as well).

I think Lata's best years were 1948-60 and she stayed very good till 1975 or so. Her peak was 1948-55. BTW, right now, many people can sing better than what she has done in this clip. Well sir, may be you will believe Webster's college dictionary or Encyclopedia Britannica or even Wilkipedia. All of them state it is an Indo-Aryan language that has same colloquial base as Hindi. Well sir, may be you will believe Webster's college dictionary or Encyclopedia Britannica or even Wilkipedia. All of them state it is an Indo-Aryan language that has same colloquial base as Hindi. Main difference is how it is written, Devnagri for Hindi and Persian for Urdu. And word Urdu is comparatively new it is a Turkish or Mongolian word actually it was given in Delhi.
