Dislike because "metabolism boosting" foods are a huge lie proven by scientific evidence. Also, you don't need to eat frequently to keep your metabolism going. Your body will do its job either way. And for anyone thinking that I'm wrong and wants to buy into this crap of "eating to lose fat", I suggest reading. I also suggest eating less...
@On1L1nk while that is somewhat true. Green tea can actually help in boosting metabolism (about 80 calories) because of certain compounds in the body (catechins). Also protein is broken down into amino acids which are connected to metabolism. Eating frequently is about your own satisfaction. This way you never feel "hungry". It's a tool to help those who feel 'starved' when cutting calories.

@midime6 Metabolism isn't a function of genes. If it were your body would burn as many calories when you were starving to death as when you were eating huge amounts. It would burn the same amount if you weight 150lbs at 5% body fat or 25% body fat, it doesn't. Genes may predispose you to certain foods etc...but they do not set your metabolism.
thats not true at all, genes can effect the functionality of your thyroid and metabolic functions. My family has thyroid problems, my mother has had to have surgery on hers twice, i eat 1700 cals a day, i excercise 2-3hrs a day 2-3 times a wekk and i do a 20 min day starter every morning. yet im 345lbs, my doctor said the only way im going to lose weight is if i cut my intake down to 12-1500 a day and always in 2-300 cal portions throughout, well im not starving myself so thats out.
That's like saying you'll loose weight if you have breast cancer or gain body fat if you are castrated. Also if you are hypothyroid to the point of 1700 calories actually keeping you at 345 lbs you are also loosing your hair, have almost no finger nail, your skin is in horrible shape and you will probably be dead in a matter of weeks. I'd suggest you ask your MD for an RX, something like L. Thyroxin. Setting aside conditions like that a fat person has a high basal metabolism then a skinny.
idk what ese to do, i just placed 2nd in a grappling tournament yesterday, i work out a lot, my cardio is crazy for how big i am, but i just cant lose weight.. i was weighed in and i was actually 351, so ive gained 6 lbs..lol...

Yeah right. first of all, you don't have some super efficient metabolism that can maintain that type of weight at that caloric restriction level. So, you're lying to everyone you posted the comment to, and yourself. It's not magic... it's simple arithmetic. Besides, if you really do have thyroid problems, you'd still lose weight. You can have a doctor prescribe you T3 Cytomel for your thyroid.
You'd have to eat well over 3,000 calories a day just to maintain that weight...common now...
if by the average person you mean the average american, DON'T expect to get advice here on what the average american would eat because this is a health video!

I've been a personal trainer for about 12 years now so I'll shed some light on the topic. People really seem to over-complicate things!
HOW TO LOSE FAT
1) Avoid high GI foods (they trigger fat storage)
2) Eat frequent, nutrient dense meals (every 3 hours) - include a protein source with each meal
3) Follow the nutrition plan from the "Fat Loss Customized" program (I can't provide a meal plan here)
