My great-great-great gandfather was a McMullen. He came from County Cork 20 years after the potato famine. I hope to go there some day, it looks like a worthwhile trip.
I commented this video last year already. I went to live there for 3 months and now that I watch it again I actually get teary. This country is simply beautiful and its people are just the nicest and warmest ever. I want to go back so bad.
my last name shine i realluy actually interesting about a 11 of my ancestors or the guys they fought in the war and a few were kings of a place notsure buy mei yself sis about 37 or 67 % irish ol mighty egenie sha god bless us all
being a mccarthy myself even living in america i still take great pride in knowing that thats our castle if there are any other mccarthys watchen this please let me know after all we are cousins, jk just let me know id love to talk
Is COBH the same as Cork? And is blarney castle in the village of blarney? We are cruising to cork port. How far do you think it is from blarney? Be good if u could help.
seriously no joke my ancestor designed tis castle and as king until his brother wanted to be king and killed him but then couldn't be king be cause he killed his brother
im obsessed with castles and this one is one of the best ive seen its amazing, the blarney stone is at the top of the castle which is so high up and the views are stunning, i definitley want to go again next time im in cork
hopefully you will get to visit here soon but try and come in the summer and you might be lucky with the weather cause it rains here constantly which isnt really nice when sightseeing, i really want to travel across america
i love the song, it's so cute. is that just "normal" traditional irish folk music or where did you get it from? i'm going to live there for 3 months from jan to march.
i went there to be an au pair and lived in cork. i'm back in germany again and i miss ireland soooo much. i love it and it was the best time of my life so far, seriously!
I LOVE that picture! I found a puzzle company that makes puzzles out of any photo you send in and had that one made. It's glued together poster size for my office wall now. Gorgeous!
oh my god please say you didnt just drive into kilmallock get food and head on to Bruree???? The place is steeped in history and places to visit! The Abbey , fantastic church and walks!!!
I know!!! But yes we did. We found out later and are kicking ourselves now. I feel like we didn't do as much research before we left on the trip as we should have.
Just spent a week in Ireland in november. went through 14 counties. Best place on earth! Next time going to where my family immigrated from county donegal.
Hi there, nice places in County Donegal are Glengesh, Slieve League, Dunlewey, Lough Eske Castle (near Donegal Town - fab!) and Glenveagh National Park. I'd recommend going to a gaeltacht (Irish speaking town) while you are there e.g. Dungloe area.
blarneys da place ta be biy!! haha im blarney born n bread!!!ya da shamz do gat n dre but no1 pisses n da stone!!!hahahahh!!! if we ddnt hav dat stupid stone we wud be natin hahahah!!xxxxxxxxxx
That's it, lean back, grab the bars and try not too think of the thousands of drunk teenager who thought it'd be hilarious to piss on the stone the night before
Have you ever done that? The man at the top that holds onto you does have some wipes to clean it off with if you're squeamish. I've heard a lot of people say they "know someone" who's done this, but no one actually has admitted it.
No, I think it's disgusting, but I know plenty who have admitted to it, plus I'm from Blarney, we don't need to kiss the stone to receive the gift of eloquence, it's in our blood!
lol! Well - I've kissed it once - just a quick peck really.. Didn't catch anything nasty, so I guess I'll live. They need t-shirts in the giftshop that say more than just "I kissed the Blarney Stone". Something like, "I kissed the Blarney Stone and didn't catch anything nasty" By the way, the Blarney area is lovely! You are so lucky to live there!
I wacked a pole with it in a little town south/east of the Killimer/Tarbert Ferry. I took the picture of the Corks Red FM car for my son, but he was more thrilled because now he had proof that I nailed the mirror...
Very nice video with the editing and tune and nice pics and all. Hard to make 'family videos' interesting for everyone. Please take the time to catch my vids on Ireland over on my channel.
You guys climbed the same tree and explored the same tunnels we did!! Did you go all the way to the bottom of the dungeon where people have written their names in white on the walls? It was so tight, dark and damp and all we had was our camera flash and phone screens to guide us!
My son went down the path with his camera flash as far as he could then got spooked by someone else coming back up using the same technique, so he came back out. I didn't realize you could go all the way to the bottom! We'll have to bring flashlights next time.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video, It broth back some wonderful memories of my childhood. I was born and bread in the area and played almost every day in the castle grounds.
Ha,Ha... Thats absolute rubbish though. If it wasn't for the 'blarney stone' they wouldn't have a job. They treat the stone with a bit more respect than that.
Thanks for the so beautiful moments you gave us with this great video. Wonderful places, Excellent cameramen/women and something much deeper yet that makes us feel more proud of our irish blood yet
what an awesome video I was then just over a week ago
