One cannot be atheist AND pagen. Pagenism (simplified) is a religion that gives supernatural qualities to elements of nature. Atheists have no religion and don't believe in the supernatural so a person can't be both. These freaks do what they do because they are anti-modern/western society. It's not traditional paganism though. Its atheist in the sense that they don't believe in God. I guess its more of an animist thing. But I don't think even they buy into the religious aspect of it. They are creating a new faith, a socialist based sort of antimodern, anticivilization, nature worship. Here in Oregon, our energy prices are rising through the roof. What do the radical environmentalists think about that? Do they even care about fellow Oregonians.

They're one of the reasons I would leave this state in a heartbeat if I was able to. Ten years ago when I moved up here, I loved this state and in many ways I still do. I'm just ashamed of the liberal environmentalists who are so extreme they feel they can control everybody else's life.

Although I've always considered myself an environmentalist, todays environmentalist movements have gone way to far and have made "environmentalism" a bad word. Unfortunately, nuts like these lead most enviro organizations and the average American is not really aware of how extreme some of these people are. Unfortunately, they blindly support these groups without realizing how damaging they can be. I'm afraid Americans will not wake up to the reality until we are paying $8 a gallon for gas.

Hasn't it always been that way in movements though. Good policies get undermined by fringe lunatics. Look at any civil liberty issue. The credibility of all of these issues gets routinely ruined by overzealous people. For every MLKJr. you get a Huey Newton and the Black Panthers. For every Harvey Milk you get Bruno types and Leather clad Drag-Nuns. For every Charleton Heston you get a random ass bunch of scary hillbillies packing way too much ordinance to be a good thing. Why showcase the nutters and scare off potential supports by exaggeration? If you want to highlight the unintended consequences of environmental activism and legislation, then do it. Don't just throw some dumb footage and a bunch of inflammatory statements up there.

My father and grandparents used to be Democrats once, but they changed as soon as they started changing. They felt left-behind.

Radical environmental groups have consistently opposed renewable energy projects. Yes, projects like wind farms, geothermal, hydroelectric. Environmentalism is important--to a point. Unfortunately, many environmental groups have passed that point.
