If Tarja wasn't such a headcase, she wouldn't have the problems she has, Simone while high strung is definitely much more level headed. No matter, they all can sing, I really enjoy Amanda, and Simone, and Tarja with Nightwish was some stellar music, on her own, not so much. As for voice, Mezzo's are ok, I prefer a Lyric Soprano personally, almost a colorotura, but more range than a mezzo. The female voice is such a beautiful thing in any range

Simone can never be a Mezzo she is a soprano because her voice is not so dramatic and low her voice is softer than a mezzo even she is not a dramatic soprano do you think that she can sin azucena or carmen ? o cherubion...?

She is Simone's vocal coach when they record studio albums, that doesn't mean she is her vocal teacher, it means she helps her with pronouncing etc. Simone has had several vocal teachers but Amanda was none of them.

I never said that she should because of their kind of voices,I meant that if she doesn't have a proper technique,she shouldn't be trying to teach her lack of it...I mean,simone is not a really good singer,she does have a pretty voice,but first,she is NOT a mezzosoprano,and second,she doesn't know how to reach her low tones in a good way...she's not well thaught

ok,well hmmm for what I know,she is not yet fully trained as a singer in general,but one thing's for sure,she is a soprano...there are so much teachers that conffuse with mezzos and sopranos,but if you compare simone's voice in the phantom agony with other mezzos,her voice is way lighter than the others...

hmmm,well she sings nice,but if she was simone's teacher I think she must be deaf,since simone is no mezzo,she shall be a lyric soprano,but of course,without the right basics she is not able to reach such high notes...

where's the problem? a mezzosoprano can give lessons to a soprano, it's only technique, even soprano can reach high notes, the way they uses their throats and their diaphragms is the same, and Amanda's got better technique, although I think Simone 's got prettier voice ^^

@lateralex90 : Voice's color doesn't depend on the notes you can reach. Mezzo is a "type of voice", such as Simone's. A mezzo can reach higher notes than a soprano, soprano means "light voice".

@Llilyhful I never mentioned color...and I'm still very sure that neither of them (simone nor amanda) are mezzos...btw, mezzos usually don't get that far UNLESS they are coloratura mezzo soprano (which should be strinctly trained to handle virtuous passages)...Simone is a LYRIC SOPRANO, not even a dramatic one..

@lateralex90 i know ur comment is like 5 months ago, but anyways, simone's tessitura stops at Bb5 on american pitch notation (even though she can reach C#6), thats completely mezzo. she loses lots of volume on the higher notes, there's NO possibility of her being soprano (:

@thedaydreamwalker93 usually, vocal range doesn't determine wether you are one or another, the thing that determines it is the tessiture you feel comfort with, and simones low notes sound really throat and chest and really at the back, not as it should be; she fakes her voice to sound deeper, and that happens naturally in everyone even tenors and light voices, they lose volume if not properly done and positioned
