I have been to Japan, and this video is BEYOND true there is something special about skiing the backcountry in Japan. Mt. Kurodake is one of my favorite places in the world to ski.

@t0myuri I ve been to niseko twice around new years for about a week each. I got around 2 solid days of powder skiing, but I bet there' r tons of powder in the backcountry. It's just that terrains that are easily accessible from ski lifts gets shredded so quickly like any other resorts. You could hit up nearby resorts that are not known as niseko.

Surprised noone's said this yet; this is from the Poor Boyz Productions (with Salomon) ski film "Reasons", this section starts about 4mins in. A great film, amazingly cut like all PBP stuff and with the biggest names around. Go and find a copy if you like this, and check out Every Day is a Saturday and Revolver by PBP whilst you're about it.

this segy is simply the best edit ive ever seen and ive watched alot of ski films, its hard to convey the feeling and joy you get from powderskiing, hell ive tried to explain it to my family for years but JP and benchetler summed it all up in one video, me and a buddy booked a trip to japan after watching this, I even went out and bought reverse/reverse skis for the insane amounts of powder ill be skiing =D

where exactly is niseko? close to which city? and is it usual to have these masses of powder there?

@looking4musics Niseko is in Hokkaido, the northern most island of Japan's four main islands. Closest major city is Sapporo and yes this kind of powder is not that unusual.

I'm not sure exactly where Niseko is, it's in the north of Japan though. Yes, they have LOTS of powder there.
