I think a great deal of people did a double take on Jet with this whole album. I felt like i was listening to Revolver,Sgt Peppers Magical Mystery Tour , White Album and Rubber soul , But for some reason people shunned them. Noone can replace the Beatles friends, but you have to admit we need another Beatle -like phenom, radio is getting stale and oversampled with rip off hip hop. JET keep going my friends, between you and Shinedown i think its a retro revival!!!

@TheKenTerry It makes sense though. The uncomplicated piano, simple drums, and melodic singing...they just need some more guitar and harmonies and they'd be good to go. Until then, though, they sound like a blend of the Beatles and McFly. Not that I particularly like this song above their others...I actually like Are You Gonna Be My Girl quite a bit more, it has more of a Rolling Stones or the Velvet Underground and Nico sound.

@ShippudenSasuke211 It's a great way to point out how some music really is timeless. People use that term too often. A lot of music from the 60's or 70's couldn't be popular if it came out today. It's a product of its time. But this has elements of a lot of popular Beatles/John Lennon tunes in it. As was pointed out, Imagine, Sexy Saddy, and I hear a lot of I Am The Walrus. It comes out 35 years after the Beatles' heyday and becomes a hit single. That = timeless.

The fact that this song (which borrows much from The Beatles) was successful decades later, essentially proves that the music stylings of the 60s can be, and IS popular today. Certainly the tone and subject matter of songwriting have been through changes since then... but eventually the pendulum swings back from whence it came. Pop/rock music has eaten itself several times over since at least the late 70s. The result? Regurgitation.

OK, we get it. You grew up with the Beatles, you had 'it' first. Its the DAMN BEATLES! With as much complexity as they had, they are bound to be used as a primary influence, eventually. I guess through the showyness of 80's hair metal and the 90's grunge rebellion, the true roots of rock & roll got lost along the way.
