  • cant say im a fan of the longhorn Danelectro,s

  • looks Awesome. If only it had humbuckers

  • SAD BUT TRUUUUUUEEEEE!!!!!!

  • 3 libras <3

  • i love this guitar. this video is a great sales pitch and it really shows how diverse it is. it's not some guy rambling on and on, it's not some guy playing as many fast bluegrass riffs as he can, just a nice video demo.

i want to buy one right now.

  • 3 Libras!!!!!!!!!!! APC ftw!!!

  • AHAA AHAHAHAH YOUR GUYZ' COMMENTS CRACK ME UP!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :DHAHAHAHA

  • The head is like African Elephant ears....

  • take a look at the jerry jones guitars, they look a lot like danelectro's. Personally, I think its good to stand out from the crowd of guitar players and having an odd looking and sounding guitar is one of the ways to do it.

  • I'd rather die than get caught with a guitar that looked like that.

  • could you please get a musician or half-way decent player to test out the equipment rather than some faggy emo-hipster asswipe who thinks his sideburns will compensate for his lack of talent?

  • @wesmartino64

Don't be a dick...i'll give it that's he's not very entertaining..but he's demoing equipment, no bum notes, all well played and executed nicely....I think you need to wind your tits in mate.

  • @zenzeypher

def not well played. there's no way i could get a sense of the guitar's potential with the bs he's pounding out of it. i don't expect Pat Martino or Eric Johnson level playing, but at least something musical, that offers a sense of the guitar's scope and potential. You're the one crying for the demo guy, so i think you need to get the sand out of your vagina

  • @wesmartino64

hahahahha how did you know I had sand in my vagina? It's not that bad, like I said I think it's just uninspiring and abit bland, but I think you can get enough idea of the tone from it...plus remember it's a youtube video they get heavily compressed anyways..most LP's sound horrid through this. I don't think he takes full advantage of the scale length either, I get he's only twiddling on open and some powers. I will shed many a tear for the demo guy and the abuse he has taken.

  • @zenzeypher thanks for sticking up for me... I had never actually played the guitar before or any baritone for that matter. I was pretty much put on the spot by my boss to make a video and I admit I kinda rambled a lot as any does under pressure. I actually own a Danelectro U2 Baritone now, one of the 90's Re-issues... maybe it's time I make a better, more informative video. I suppose I'd have to learn some "proper" baritone licks, tick-tack, country and western style.

  • @garyptaszek

Thats alright dude, I can't stand internet bullies or people with harsh opinions of other peoples skills whilst showing none of their own.

Most important thing I think with demos is just to enjoy ragging the crap out of the guitar :D

  • interesting Tnx !

  • Wow, should play some Shocking Blue songs with it!! Robby van Leeuwen's iconic guitar!!

  • What is it with danelectros and ugliness?

  • good sound but that guitar looks like shit

  • the tele pups make it too tinny sounding they work against the baritone

  • that guitar is a Danelectro longhorn baritone electric guitar!

  • He sounds like the bassist from JET.

  • @ox092 except JET are an Australian band...

  • @str84ever Specially, this APC song is "6 Libras", from the album 'Mer de Noms'.

  • @jorgicio Three Libras

  • @jorgicio 3 Libras you mean;)

  • @dekoene91 Thanks. You're right. Sorry

  • Proof that a good guitar makes a shity player sound! SHITE!

  • Proof that a good guitar makes a shite player sound! SHITE!

  • @BradleyCraig69 thanks duude... real mature

  • I want that guitar so badly! With a Wammy Bar

  • that is a sexy guitar, what you gibbering about!?

  • Come on man the song hes playing is 3 libras by a perfect circle

  • so ugly and yet so cool!

  • this dude sounds like scroobius pip!

  • @str84ever What's it called?

  • 0:29 sounds very Foo Fighters

  • Overdrive? Really? If your gonna play something heavy and that low go full out Distortion because OD is for leads not rythm.

  • @Fluffykuns1 is that in the rule book is it?

  • @TheBrowndawg Nope, But Overdrive really does't sound good that low, at least in my opinion. But, to each his own I guess.

  • @Fluffykuns1 yeah sorry dude i was bein a smartarse.

  • What's the first song he plays?

  • @superstriker00

    3 Libras by A Perfect Circle :)

  • @DoughnutGG Thanks, that song is so epic. XD

  • I like this thing... Anybody know how much it costs?

  • At least you get more of an opening for high note shredding ^.^

  • Perfect circle!!!! doof

  • That guitar looks like a fucking yak.

  • @thewalking ROFL

  • i hate this body. looks like if the creator was on drugs (which doesn't make the guitar look better)

  • aww yeah the longhorn body

  • HE'S PLAYING 3 LIBRAS! YAY!

  • what an ugly-looking guitar

  • Is it possible to get this guitar in F#?

  • if you use big enough strings. you can string it with Fender Bass 6 strings and tune it an octave down

  • I WANT ONEE!!!

  • I Love this Guitars Twangy Sound :D

It sounds like He's Playing Funk Slap Bass :P

  • can you put a baritone guitar in all the tunes, like G D C etc.?

  • prob'ly not cause the reason ud go for such a low tuning gear is intonation. a 27.5 or 28" scale would give that perfect adjustment for B, Bb, A tunings and whatnot.

  • its a nice sounding guitar I like the fact that it has more frets. It sounds really full and yes your right BAsSS is awesome.favorite riff was 2:22-2:30 second mark I bet if u down tuned it more the sound will just be brutal as heck .

  • Do you tabs for the very first riff you played? .)

  • its staind, i cant remeber what song

  • nope, no 'Staind' in this vid.

Although Mike Mushok of Staind uses Baritone guitars he uses some very different tunings

  • its 3 libras by a perfect circle.

  • The First Piece he plays is a song by A Perfect Circle called 3 libras

You can get tabs for it by just Googling them

  • the first riff was by A Perfect Circle

  • OMFG has this guy never heard someone play a baritone guitar before?

I can't blame him I guess as lmost all the people playing baritone's you see on youtube are trying to play them like a normal pitched guitar....

The guitar is great - the tones used and the playing was for (sorry) tosser's...

    Just my opinion....

    Baritone guitars ROCK!

  • sorry, was the first baritone I ever played. Only bands I knew who used them back then were heavier bands like Deftones. I've since bought myself a baritone Dano and might do a better demo.

  • Perfect circle fan much.. ;)

  • amazing tone. it might be a combination of it and the vox, but still so amazing

  • that' a mean piece of equipment - I'm in love!!!!

  • 3 libras great job!!!

  • great sounding guitar. those lipstick pickups work really well with the deep notes.

  • DO WANT!

  • im surprised with the sound, though i do agree that it's an ugly guitar. i believe Danelectro are now producing a Hornet style baritone.

  • did this guy play in bedtime stories?

  • not unless I did without remembering

  • Sounds good, and I know a lot of people will disagree with me but I find this guitar to be quite ugly (not unlike many other Danelectro guitars).

  • it's unique, its sounds amazing and it looks cool!

    ...let me guess, its discontinued?

  • I think it's actually one of the few guitars Danelectro still make.

  • First thing he played was 3 Libras by APC.

  • What about the fender jaguar baritone? Better? Same twang sound? or does it sound more like a bass?

  • I love baritone acoustic guitars, and baritone guitars with single coils, but baritone guitars with humbuckers just plain suck. IDK maibe its good for some styles, but I think hums on a baritone sound too muddy. Low oupput humbuckers (filtertrons) might be nice though.

  • You've just never heard them with the right Humbuckers. But, I know what you mean. It's easy to mud up those low tones.

  • gretch spectra sonics with tv jones pickups sound awesome.... i agree though, most baritones with humbuckers sound kinda muddy.

  • i cant decide if i want to get a 7 string or a baritone. can anyone help me decide?

  • that depends on what style are you going to play, but the 7 string goes to more styles than the baritone.

  • I want one

  • Ugly thing, beautiful sound.

  • to get this or just get a 7 string guitar.

    fuck, i'll get both.

  • @FINCHster haha baritone is like the 6 last strings of an 7 stringed, its 5 steps down :)

  • oh cool

so it got more frets or longer frets

  • both, I believe.

  • whats the diffrence from a regular guitar?

  • Longer neck like he said, so its got a lower sound somewhere in between a regular guitar and a bass guitar.

  • they are usually tuned a 4th below regular guitar

  • i love the sound...but the thing is ugly

  • Was that first song you played (the finger picking one) a Kaki King song?

  • A perfect circle - 3 libras

  • Heh, YAY i'm not the only one that struggles with the wider fret spacing!

  • He said there were five extra frets. I don't know that baritone guitars require more frets, but just a longer scaled neck to comfort the low registers.

    Anyhow, that thing is ugly.

  • that's why I love it.

  • cant you just put baritone strings on a normal guitar to get the sound?

  • Yes, but the scale longer scale on a baritone guitar helps keep the notes solid and in tune. A normal scale would be a bit flappy and muddy.

  • actually... no

you can get the same tuning (might have to modify the nut to fit the thicker strings on) but you wont get the baritone tone out of it.

i think you have to play them to fully understand the difference that the scale alone will make in the sound. i can tune my 27 scale and my 30 scale baritones to the same tuning but the 30 will have more of a bass growl to it as where the 27's tone is a little closer to a regular scale guitar.

  • 3 libras, 1 1/2 steps down...

  • how can i get the same guitar in the video. i have always tuned my guitar to drop d and tried to tune down lower but the strings buzz and pop. that guitar sounds awsome and ur tuned to drop a 7 stings are cool but 6 srting baritone is the ultimate. now i realize how anotations and postmoertem promises do there thing please let me know how i can get same guitar as in vid

  • postmortem promises and annotations just tune to drop C (postmortem) or even lower drop A# (annotations) u just need thicker gauge strings

  • yeah, i use thicker strings, i can get Drop C, no buzz, Bb(or A#) can be flappy but its still available if i want/need it

  • That is one sweet Lang Horn Baritone!

The Fret Access much be so much better then the traditional Danelectro Baritone.

I am a big Dano fan, don't see many of this type

in the US, Long Horn Bass yes, Baritone's no.

Fernandez makes a nice one two (with a sustainer

    system as well)

I am a big Baritone fan as well! PRS SE series

now has a Baritone (Mike Mushok model from Limp Bitzkit ? spelling, he used to play a Ibazez Baritone the PRS one is only ?$599.99

new where the Ibanez was> $1,000+

  • I have a question, whats the diffrence between 7 string guitar and Baritone guitars?

  • ibik, Baritone's have longer neck's, differnt scale and has

heavier gauge strings and is tuned differently

(but people tune them all sorts of ways)

some people take the Danelectro Baritone

and string it and tune it as a six string bass

I have never figured out 7 string guitars

I would be interested to know what they are

    about as well

  • Wow, thank you.

  • Not sure what he means by "5 extra frets". I have a 32 fret dano longhorn (one of my favorite guitars), and it's not a baritone. What does the number of frets have to do with the scale of the guitar? Its the length from the nut to the bridge, right?

  • This Long Horn Baritone is sweet, don't see many!

It's possible your axe is a Danelectro

Guitarlin which is a cool piece

    Link Ray used one alot.

Google Danelectro and there are a few really good web sites ( sites of the originals(Silvertone, and Danelectro and the

reissues since the late 1990's, the late 1990's were the better ones (I had a limo black 57' Reissue U3 that I kick myself everytime I think about when I sold it!

Check out the Paul Reed Smith (PRS SE Baritone

    its about $599.99)

  • 32 frets? what was the name of model?

  • is it well balanced??i mean when you have it on your knees do you have to hold the fretboard all the time because it falls on that direction due to it's weird shape??please if anyone knows!!

  • it's actually quite comfortable to play. it's not as neck heavy as you may think.

  • 3 libras from aperfectcircle this guy rocks

  • aww shucks thanks,

Don't forget I played 'Hexagram' by Deftones later on! that totally needs mentioning!

  • lmao, 3 Libras. Awesomeness. Didn't expect that.

  • Do people usually solo with baritone guitars at all??

  • Buckethead plays custom made baritone guitars almost exclusively for solo, lead, collaborations, etc. They also sound great in spaghetti westerns, so I'm sure someone soloed them. Baritones would certainly make great solo instruments.

  • I knew there was something sounding different in "Killing Time", by Clint Black, way a lot grave sounding than a simple guitar. Has someone seen that video? The guitar they use there, it is one of these?

  • probably a danelectro "long-horn" baritone is my guess

  • Which Danelectro is it exactly?

  • by the way, the song he plays at the beginning is called three libras by A perfect circle

  • i wonder if you were to put very heavy string on a baritone and tune to satndard E an octave below if it would sound good?

  • well (apparently) originally they made one for that cause... obviously it would be a similar string gauge to the Fender Bass 6 25-95 gauge

  • ohh a perfect circle.

  • i have a danoblaster guitar...love it <3

  • bludy lush

  • Wow. That sounds beautiful, albeit the guitar being less than eye candy. I do think it's an interesting shape though.

  • Cheap and chearful, but fun. Masonite translates in Britain to "hardboard", the 3mm composite fiber-board used for drawer bases and the backs of picture frames(!). Nevertheless dano's have graced may major albums including those of Zep. BTW Jimbo, I'm sure anyone knows they can detune however much they want - But whether they will clash with a song's bass part is another issue...

  • not bassy mate, you want true '''baritone'''

then F or G is the answer for a 6 string

  • ♪ I do love danelectros. ♥

  • i wanted to buy this guitar. so particular and a wonderful sound.

  • it's a really ugly guitar.

    but it sounds o.k

  • it's awfuller than "el fary" sucking lemons and looking at the sun

  • actualy very good sounding, i hate their looks, but the sound is very nice

  • What's the first song he plays? It sounds really nice and soft

  • a perfect circle - 3 libras

  • Thanks

  • This kid has issues, he's stalking my posts

  • It sounds excellent, but it's so freaking ugly! Ahhhhhh! I want one but could never be seen in public with it.

  • You know you dont need to buy that one to get a Baritone. I have a baritone and it´s one of ESP´s guitars. It´s an LTD mhb-400 baritone so check that out:)

  • i have that one as well and it rocks and its probably half what this one costs.

  • If you have a baritone guitar that costs half what a Danelectro costs, you have an electric turd. Danos are the cheapest of the cheap, poorly constructed, using the most bargain basement componants known to man. The ONLY baritone out there worth a darn is a Jerry Jones.

  • I've never liked Danelectro's at all, they're standard '62 or whatever it is, sounds about as good as a Squier.

  • i so want a baritone now

and if im to lazy to change guitars to get standard tuning i can just use a capo...sweet

  • Seems like a good way to step on your bass players toes...

  • I'm in love with this guitar!

  • I gave you 5 stars because you look smarter than big guitar chain and your guitar is cool.

  • Your camera mike is very sensitive or else the wood on that guitar is hard as a rock, because I can hear the guitar strings sound over the amp loudly.

  • I love this shop its they only good shop in Bluewater.

  • Yeah, he plays Hexagram [Deftones] :D (2:05). Thats pretty cool, I'm going to buy a baritone, too.

  • in the right hands masonite dano bari's are VERY cool instruments...people sleep on these.

  • 3 libras by a perfect circle, Good Job.
