dude you can't make your drums flat if your just going to hit the rims...tilt them towards u a little so you get less rim and more drumhead

but its just the room's acoustics.

in like a hall or something it resonates heaps.

my garage has alot of carpeting and sheets to dampen the room . so the neighbors don`t complain haha.

heel down = no power or control.
