The current groups in India have been more carefully set up and supported in the Brahmasthan. They will be built up gradually and I think now the collective consciousness of India is more receptive now.

Yeah..I am totally agree with 'swiftdigger' that there is a strong foreign influences which do not want that vedic knoweldge should prevaile in India. It so sad that great sages of India like Maharishi has denied entry to India. & its these types of things are happening a lot these days & the culprit is media. All the medias & news papers are being handles by outside forces which are seems dedicated to create a negative atmosphere towards Great Saints, sages, Guru's etc, Recent case was Asaramji

I heard three successive Indian prime ministers sent in the troops to disband the large groups of peacefull meditators, Allegedly due to influences from outside India. (the first two died not long after doing so, Probably from the bad karma). Many times the war mongerers have tried to ignite a war with India and Pakistan and so far failed. Now they are doing it from Afghanistan instead using there American trained al quaeda and taliban mercenaries.
