@heartlessvietboy Actually, the shuttle is pretty "Green". That big exhaust cloud is just water vapour and forms a cloud that rains on the local area!
Thousands of Launch Projects were made in the last 50 years. More Space Junk is out there than you think. Hundreds of Nuclear Weapons were tested without safety concerns. People still don't have a reliable battery source.
too bad that Discovery and Endeavor are going to just be museum peices. hopefully we get that ''space plane'' soon that can take off and land in a traditional manner to be even more amazed but to always remember its late great predocessors.
@TehKyosho Thank man! I would love to concentrate on just how amazing the orbiter Discovery at this point, but I gotta say, I do love the score. (I tried SoundHound with no luck...)
Yeah kill the space shuttle program so humanity can make a Koran for each american, they are going to need it when total islamification of the united states is completed
I was at the KSC, and watched the Discovery blast off for the last time... Truly one of the most spectacular things I have experienced, and was able to scratch one more thing off my "Bucket List". Nothing compares to seeing it in person!
@RainbowManification well pretty much... STS 133 was Discovery's last mission, but there are two more scheduled launches for the other two orbiters... Endeavor STS 134 in April and Atlantis STS 135 in June. And then its all over...
they are taking a storage "closet" that will be attached to the ISS as well as a humanoid robot call "R2" that will stay on the ISS to assist with various tasks also a year's worth of supplies
@ericsantiago011 Probably to take some people up to the ISS and bring some others who are already up there back down; what they always do when they're not carrying any cargo.
@mountaingirllll76 No earlier than february 24th at 4:24 pm is the next target. The External Tank had some major cracks and stringer issues to be dealt with.
NASA managers have targeted space shuttle Discovery's launch for no earlier than Feb. 3 at 1:34 a.m. EST. Shuttle managers determined more tests and analysis are needed before proceeding with the launch of the STS-133 mission to the International Space Station.
@tristconroytv It's the last flight of Discovery, but there are two more flights before we stop flying shuttles (still have Endeavor in Feb. and Atlantis - hopefully in June of '11).
@151L107 No. It may have something to do with living on the other side of the world from Florida. My wife and I went to the KSC in July 1998 for the launch of STS-88 Endeavour, which was flying the Space Station's Unity module, but after we had everything booked and paid for, NASA shifted the launch date from July to December without consulting us. Five years later, we went back for the Opportunity Mars Rover launch, which was amazing. After 6.5 years on Mars "our" rover is still operational.
@MarsFKA I saw the STS 131 launch in april, iIwaited 26 years for that one and I'm lucky enough to see the last launch of discovery, just an awesome event!! You will love it!
@lvnmarks I returned from Florida two weeks ago, having missed the launch. We had a waterfront apartment in Titusville, with a clear view across the Indian river to the launch pad, 18 km away. We had the telephoto lens, the video camera and stabilised image binocs. We could see *everything*. It was going to be outstanding. All we needed was NASA to get its act together. Ah well, at least, I got the tee-shirt and some seriously quality time with my grandson and his parents.
I hope the next mission when they jettison the external tank that it missies it target over the Pacific Ocean, and lands on George W fucking Bush’s home! LOL
The space shuttle is one spectacle event I like watching and thanks USA for voting for this twat man Bush! He’s killed the space shuttle program! I really do hope the external tank lands on his fucking home. Good riddance to that twat President!
@ggeek101 NASA has projects like Ares and Orion that should be in service around 2014 so the cape is going to be a bit quite for few years. Mother Russia will continue to fly crews up to the ISS. Personally I think its mistake dumping the Shuttle Fuck you George W. Twat Bush!
Like the vid but I saw sts 131 launch and also they can just use the Soyuz or shenzo Wich is a chinese space craft and the Soyuz is a Russian space craft
@MasterDK94 no its not. STS-134 will be the last mission of the space Shuttle Program. Project Constellation will (hopefully) be the next NASA program

That would statistically never happen, and would put the lives currently in the station in great jeopardy.

FYI - The only way this would be the last launch is if both STS-134 and STS135 both failed to leave the launch pad.
