  • He's leaning too far forward.

  • Phew, boss squat.

  • Burly!

  • I hate that moment when you feel the weights bearing down on you and you stand for a few seconds to get the guts to lower that shit and start squatting.

  • great work!

  • high weight but technique is horrible. not trying to be a dick but youre leaning forward so much it becomes so visible on the 2nd set where you almost fall on your face. your lower back is not tight at any point in your lift especially towards the end of your lift, it is in a normal position. i am powerlifter and i do coach too and what i would say to fix it would be 1) tight grip close as posible to shoulders without discomfot. 2)shoulder width stance 3)tighten your abs + back for whole lift

  • @wwuussaaTRON

He looks to be doing squats as shown in the Starting strength book.

Maybe not text book, but ok.

Low bar squats are usually taught with forward lean btw.

His form is not perfect, but he's using maximal weights, and form tends to break down a little.

I'm guessing your a high bar squatter, and thus should not be commenting on low bar squatters form unless you also are proficient in that lift.

  • @wwuussaaTRON

If you're a 'powerlifter' you should know that using a wider stance reduces distance the bar needs to travel to parallel and therefore means you can lift more weight, leaning far forward enables you to 'sit back' with a wide stance while staying balanced.

  • weak legs

  • @TheLibertard your mom has weak legs

  • impressive no matter what

  • awesome vid, nice deep squats

  • Your feet are sticking out, keep your feet in. In line with your knees they need to be

  • @Tazza17 The wider your stance is, the more you need to angle your feet out. Even when your taking a close stance, you need to flare your feet out a little, but not nearly as much as wide stance. If you kept your feet pointing straight you would put more pressure on the knees.

  • @Tazza17 Bogus.

  • dude thats some good lifting..nice squat rack but i hope the floor isnt slippery wood cause everytime u widdened yr feet looked like the splits were possibl...ouch imagine that with that weight in yr back lol top squating v deep and controled keep up the good work

  • does any think how the back goes slightly horizontal at 1:00 can cause strain on the back?

I have the a very similar form and my back feels strained after.

doing 1 X my body weight

    apprecaite your response in advance!

    cheers

  • The squat is a mixture of back and legs. If it's a strain, meaning it's an unnatural pain, you're probably dipping your back way to low. Make sure you keep your back arched, this may help.

  • @s0041464 that's how my 2 year old nephew squats when he bends down. He hops like a frog all the time.

  • perfect form, great video

  • dude my riend is 15 years old and squats 455 max

  • hark. EVERY one of these damn vids....'im only 15 and I lift x' blah blah. Some law needs to be instated banned all under 18s from lifting...or at least lifting and also owning a computer.

  • I think when there 15 they can bench 600 when they turn 18 & learn how to count they relise 2 10 = 20

  • @huthut91 That's completely idiotic to ban all under 18 year old from lifting... I'm 17 and I squat/deadlift more than 98% of people at my gym...

  • @Conrad0032 Okay kid

  • get a video then

  • dde my friend is 9 years old and he squat 900 pounds

  • @jeffman3003 how about you how much can u lift, 9 pounds?

  • is squatting in the smith machine less beneficial (in terms of gaining quad mass) than squatting freely assuming that i would get the same depth in the smith?

  • Nothing can beat free weights man. Just squat with a bar, weights and a rack.

  • Using smith machine you are not controlling the balance, but free weight you must control balance and weight which is more beneficial and harder!

  • yes

  • FragmentCrossing it's called bulking and cutting, fat gain in a bulk is a huge sign of growth, learn to accept it.

Don't comment if you have no idea what you are talking about.

  • butt wink there :)

  • Doddle!

  • yeah, but um, why is he still fat?

that's the problem with bodybuilders, they go for the really big muscles that they either cant attain or just end up looking too wide if they do. and they often have chubby faces or look too old and they're heads dont match the body.

the ripped male model v-shape build is much more attractive and natural looking.

  • old comment, but i must say u have no idea what you are talking about. the v-shape is the core of natural bodybuilding physique and all NATURAL bodybuilders that know what they are doing have them. this guy in the video is clearly not a bodybuilder either, he is a powerlifter, so dont expect him to train for a pretty physique.

  • i hate doing squats... this guy makes it look eazy...

  • I like the way you controlled the movenemt. Great job!!!

  • i can only dream of that.........

TIP: you gotta yell out something like "Light weight BABEY" and then it would be like x10 more awesome lol :)

  • NOTHIN' BUT A PEANUT!

  • sick

  • do you point your toes out if you squat real wide?

  • Only if you're lacking in hip mobility. But the wider your stance is the more you will end up pointing them out.

  • VERY STRONG AND GREAT FORM!

  • Not too bad. With that suit and stance, how much does it take to get below parallel?

  • very impressive

  • good job!
