This is kind of cool, but honestly a race between an "acrobatic" plane, and let's be honest here, a relatively unimpressive Porsche is weak sauce. Especially when Top Gear did basically the identical thing, only with a Bugatti Veyron vs. a Euro Fighter Jet over a distance of 1 mile. I guess I just don't understand why they bothered reproducing something they didn't have a prayer of doing as well. Stick to making energy drinks.

@TeddyBakesher - there are two or more shots here in order to tell the story. during the actual race the car was on the left side and the plane on the right side of the runway in order to prevent a head on collision, you can see the smoke pass by the car and not on the car (it's a race, not a race to the death). they use the other shots to fill in during the race because there is limited air space for additional cameras. They did a better job than Top Gear
