  • Saw this in Cultural Studies class....Funny documentary! I like the fact that this kid cried for no reason LOL and Cheng Cheng likes to strip (probably cuz it's hot in China and there's no A/C in his house)

  • ITS SUCH AN AWESOME MOVIE!!

  • I've lived in China for the past 6 years, and unfortunately, this extremely disturbing film is highly indicative of the political/education system in China.

  • This is a great documentary. Cheng Cheng is evil, Liu Lei is all right, but I feel like the girl should have won.

  • This is a great documentary. Cheng Cheng is evil, Liu Lei is all right, but I feel like the girl should have won.

  • it's interesting that most Chinese viewers don't like Cheng Cheng, but American viewers do. Some cultural difference here.

  • one of my favorite films of all time.

  • Truth about democazy.

  • "Who are you voting for?"

"Didnt you beat me up before"

Had to LOL so much at this :)

  • A kid, haven't even heard about documentary, is suddenly required to vote, what do you think they can do. Their actions are what people really want but cant do because of the law and the rules.

  • Is it bad that I just find all this ridiculous and funny?

  • @Jubel06 Me too and I am from China. This is exactly what happens in elementary schools.

  • This documentary clearly shows the reality with money you can buy power .

Love this documentary it made laugh feel sad and taught me at the same time it was entertaining.Would recommend this to everybody .

  • i guess time is different. bias film

  • also, my god, that cheng cheng is going to take over the whole country. i've never seen a child act like a natural politician as well has he can!!!!!!!! i'm super scared of him.

  • @zhouxizhou that's not true some isolated/poor chinese villages are democratic in how they elect their leaders. if you haven't seen this film, you can get it on netflix, and i would highly suggest it. it's not really meant to promote the idea that these kids are going to grow up democratic, it was just really interesting to see how this tiny world in a communist country could reflect so much of the western system. i laughed and i cried at these precocious children. except i didn't really cry.

  • cheng cheng is the best ^-^

  • um, as i recall it, growing up in southern China in the 1980s, i was already in class elections for class offices. how is this a "social experiment" if it's been in place for 3 decades?

the problem with democracy in China is that kids were taught the basics when they were young, but the older they grow, the less democratic practice there is. so i would not make a big deal out of this and say these young kids are going to grow up advocating for free elections in government.

  • Poor little girl... That the boys wanted to overthrow her :( and the democracy of kids in china is terrible!!!

  • Its like fucking the real world here "aghhh luo suck my little wang!

  • lol at the bathroom scene...i was waiting for Luo Lei say to Cheng Cheng....."umm your weakness is that: you got a small wang"

but yes...im sure the kids learned that democracy sucks.....specially when conniving parents are pulling all the strings...*cough* DICK CHANEY *cough* KARL ROVE *cough*

  • 哎呀这些孩子将做任何事来赢得选举。哦,感谢谷歌翻译让我看清凉。

  • definitely watching on instant netflix later.

  • @sandywu0310 how are you on youtube in china?

  • This is a very good movie. Watch it!

  • The kid at 1.30 is ledge

  • mouth full of noodles "Cheng Cheng!!" XD

  • This documentary is proof that, in reality, democracy is dirty and evil, heh.

  • Raise your hand if Luo Lei has beaten you.

  • *raising hand*

  • stupid.. this is pointless.. fake democracy whats the point? u tell the kids to be democratic but they cant even do that in the future

  • nice...

  • Looks good!

  • Indeed money can buy power, so do Luo lei!

  • hm.. i won't vote!

  • You just gave away the ending, nice one.

  • Cheng Cheng is hardcore.

All I got to say is they all don't deserve to win.

2 of the 3 kids is like a hardcore bully and the girl is a crybaby.

  • hola soy de chile hablamos español y vi un corto por tv de este documental se vee muy bueno pero no lo puedo encontrar en mi idioma si alguien sabe me podria reponder gracias

  • Just watched this tonight.

    Very good. So much crying!

  • i watched this it was good.

  • Ok very cute its great and very innocent my points for you its 9 grettings and the best dishes from mexico

  • Perfect!

  • i am so sorry. i do not know how to vote.

  • I was lucky enough to catch this documentary when it was shown at bbc last night. this was surprisingly moving. The documentary was fun to watch and it wasn't very intense but it was still able to convey a strong message. Highly recommended.

  • "you ae not strong enough" -that's so cool

  • can anyone tell me where i can buy this film?

I really want to purchase it

  • I loved every bit of this documentary.

    VOTE CHENG CHENG!

  • why did all of the little kids start crying again???

  • coz when Xiaofei start crying, the boys realized they have made a terrible trouble.

the girls crying becouse they feel bad for Xiaofei.

  • super nice doc !!

  • I guess it's a movie.

  • its a documentary...

  • 难得的开始。民主,一路走好。

  • I can't believe the little kids voted for the dictator again! Lol Cheng Cheng was very eloquent and well spoken... Xiaofen was adorable but unfairly pitted against two outspoken boys. The funniest part was the kids frequently carrying around their small rice bowls in school. Two thumbs up for democracy!

  • @DoubleHelix22 why is Luo Lei a dictator? He turned down his parents' offer to use their connections to

give him an edge. Instead he want his classmates to "make their own decisions". I think your opinion was

biased by your preoccupation of Chinese politics in general.

On the contrary I would say Cheng Cheng is a dangerous figure to democracy. He used quite some low

play trying to win the election.

  • sweet...

  • how cute...lol
