I seem to be doing the right movement but cant get my board to pump fast my board is a landyachtz bamboo pinner plz help me tell me if this is a good board to pump or what can i do thanks guys for your time :)
@YoYowIzArD1 - youtube doesn't let me post a link but if you Google "pavedwave Dan Gesmer PDF" you'll find a link to Dan Gesmer's guide. he's the only guy I know who's really tried to simplify it to a couple pages. but if you really want to learn I'd advise you hook up with guys who slalom, watch a lot, try out their boards and ask lots of questions.
I seem to lose speed when i try 2 pump. Everytime i lean on my frontside it just slows down.. I got a homemade board about 30 inch with thunder trucks
@gdrocker93 I can't say for sure why that is happening, but maybe try adjusting your trucks, such as de-wedging the back one and wedging the front. You want ur front truck to be turning better than the back
@Rusty4488 so assuming i had angled risers, how would i angle the front one and back one to pump better, i have the same problem... and does a dropthru make a difference with pumping? i use it for downhill and i wanna start sliding!!! ;)
You need REALLY loose front trucks. There are slightly different ways of doing it but you have to keep pushing the front of your board into each turn with your forward foot.
How good are Gullwing Sidewinder Trucks on a Sector 9 pintail for pumping? I live on campus and I usually use my board to get around and it would be wonderful if I could get the pumping technique down. Could I get basic directions for the procedure? Thanks.
They're pretty heavy, and high, and as a system they work great for carving hills, but if you want to make them more pumpable, remove the middle insert from the rear truck to make it more "traditional", then use stiffer bushings, and enough flat riser to match the height of the front sidewinder.
Actually that board was the first concave-camber Roe Mermaid prototype, very wide in the nose, and the wheels were big-- 77mm SpeedVents, and 5.0 Bennett trucks. No wheelbite, but you have to manage that by using enough risers, it's a tradeoff.
the board hes riding in the beginning is a sector 9..i rode that model. as you can see the truck width is really skinny and the wheels were too big, resulting into a super tippy board that had gnarly wheel bite. hes good tho better than me at pumping lol.
its not hard at all you need to just find your rithem and yes loose trucks to start out with realy helps. once you get good at pummping its easy to ride out speed wobbles if you get them
This video is impressive, and well edited. I love your creativity and the music! Isn't the music at the beginning a remix of 'summertime' by Thievery Corporation? Thanks for the vid.
thanks man, i guess we don't get much video footy because its such a different vibe riding with a camera vs. just riding. we'll slowly crank em out ;-)

not too much, but a setup that pumps easier - loose trucks! - will be more encouraging when you're learning.
