  • Can someone explain the mechanics of pumping?

  • @YoYowIzArD1 - youtube doesn't let me post a link but if you Google "pavedwave Dan Gesmer PDF" you'll find a link to Dan Gesmer's guide. he's the only guy I know who's really tried to simplify it to a couple pages. but if you really want to learn I'd advise you hook up with guys who slalom, watch a lot, try out their boards and ask lots of questions.

  • i love pumping

  • i can only pump with really long boards with good flex. i can go up really steep hills

  • i know this song. is it patchworks?

  • I seem to lose speed when i try 2 pump. Everytime i lean on my frontside it just slows down.. I got a homemade board about 30 inch with thunder trucks

  • @gdrocker93 I can't say for sure why that is happening, but maybe try adjusting your trucks, such as de-wedging the back one and wedging the front. You want ur front truck to be turning better than the back

  • @Rusty4488 so assuming i had angled risers, how would i angle the front one and back one to pump better, i have the same problem... and does a dropthru make a difference with pumping? i use it for downhill and i wanna start sliding!!! ;)

  • nice dancing :)

  • Looks like a lot of work. Id rather kick a few times and coast. Cool still though. Cheers!

  • summertime

    elevator music style?

  • what kind of board are you riding

  • in this vid-- RoeRacing Mermaid LDP, Pocket Pistol slalom

  • If that is what I would look like pumping down the road, forget it. LMAO

    Otherwise good video.

  • this is dope but how do u do it?

  • when i do it i seem to lose speed? i got a sector nine waimea 39.5 complete. is that and alrite board?

  • You need REALLY loose front trucks. There are slightly different ways of doing it but you have to keep pushing the front of your board into each turn with your forward foot.

  • i liked the cone setup

  • the song is awesome, whats the title ?

  • summer time, i'm not sure who's version this is though

  • are 70mm flashbacks good wheels or should i get 72mm powerballs

  • hahaha powerballs

  • so that is a no on the powerballs i take it

  • aaah yea like who the hell rides power balls but no offense it sounds like some shit from the 80s

  • so are the 70mm flashbacks better then cuz i either need powerballs or the flashbacks

  • hellyea or u should get so gumballs those are sweet the range from 78a to 81a

  • get some 108 bommas

  • Flashbacks are fun, but I'd go with gumballs. They're more fun. Trust me. ;)

  • O-Tangs FTW!

  • what your favortie pumping technique? and what would you recommend for anyone?

  • getting comfortable with ur board. thats the only trick really.

  • hey i need new longboard trucks but i dont know what kind to get any suggestions??

  • buy some randals 180's or Seismic Trucks

about seismic and randals booth of them work weel

  • what website can i get those from??

  • search their websites in google :x type randal and seismic

  • if you want to carve insanely get original trucks

  • for sure

  • help me someone please! i've got a hardwood longboard(hilongboards, that's the brand) with NO flex, is it possible to pump, and if possible how?

  • you're screwed- that was close to my case on my old board

  • How good are Gullwing Sidewinder Trucks on a Sector 9 pintail for pumping? I live on campus and I usually use my board to get around and it would be wonderful if I could get the pumping technique down. Could I get basic directions for the procedure? Thanks.

  • They're pretty heavy, and high, and as a system they work great for carving hills, but if you want to make them more pumpable, remove the middle insert from the rear truck to make it more "traditional", then use stiffer bushings, and enough flat riser to match the height of the front sidewinder.

  • Nice James!!!!

my Subsonic Pulse is doing great now snince its broken in!!! it feels great at the limit!!!

  • Gives a whole new meaning to 'pumping'.

  • I've been doing this for a while. Didn't know it had a name. Awesome.

  • what does pupming do for you?

  • 1. accelerate without taking a foot of the board

    2. fun

    3. style

  • hey i have a sector9 carbon trylam and i was wondering is it able to pump? cuz it is really difficult and i want to learn how to do it.

  • Actually that board was the first concave-camber Roe Mermaid prototype, very wide in the nose, and the wheels were big-- 77mm SpeedVents, and 5.0 Bennett trucks. No wheelbite, but you have to manage that by using enough risers, it's a tradeoff.

  • the board hes riding in the beginning is a sector 9..i rode that model. as you can see the truck width is really skinny and the wheels were too big, resulting into a super tippy board that had gnarly wheel bite. hes good tho better than me at pumping lol.

  • is your back truck tight and front loose?

  • what board do u have?

  • is it hard to learn how to pump?

  • not too much, but a setup that pumps easier - loose trucks! - will be more encouraging when you're learning.

  • its not hard at all you need to just find your rithem and yes loose trucks to start out with realy helps. once you get good at pummping its easy to ride out speed wobbles if you get them

  • Nevermind, I just found the song...it's Summertime by Patchworks off of the Saint Germain Des Pres Cafe CD. It's good :)

  • This video is impressive, and well edited. I love your creativity and the music! Isn't the music at the beginning a remix of 'summertime' by Thievery Corporation? Thanks for the vid.

  • thanks for finding that! it came from a long acid jazz mix CD, so i didn't have the artist info. cheers

  • what longboard are your riding and are you using and what's ur setup, are you using wedges and angled risers?

  • most of the shots are on a Roe Mermaid with Bennetts and angled risers

  • the dude in the red sweater looks soooo ridiculous!!!!!can somebody match his part with the chicken dance song?

  • send me that chicken dance song, do you mean yakkity sax?

  • I find the one at around 0:55 the most useful

  • this video is serious, u guys need to put more out

  • thanks man, i guess we don't get much video footy because its such a different vibe riding with a camera vs. just riding. we'll slowly crank em out ;-)

  • its realy cool
