where I live , in wisconsin, I usually can pick these markers up for less than a dollar. sometimes at flea markets i can get them in packs of 10 for a dollar usually in black but sometimes in the blue. also the pen she is using is a marker with a cotton wick in the middle so I think any marker with a wick will work for this

Thanks to everyone who has commented. There has been some discussion about the safety of spraying alcohol around. By all means TAKE CARE when using and wear protective gear. Alternatively use on a felt pad instead. However you choose to use - enjoy!

Wouldn`t it be easier to just buy the acohol ink? It`s not that expensive.

Great tutorial, thanks! this looks like so much fun. sometimes I really don't like living in europe as a similar pen will be difficult to find here. I wonder if this would work with another kind of ink pen?
