@suikogaidenFire In truth Kyon's character is what holds the whole story together and makes it interesting. Without him the Haruhi-verse is just a mishmash of sci-fi elements. With him, and his skewed view on everything, the plot has vibrant color and immense depth. Amazing what a normal guy can do, huh?

Shes not though, Koizumi's perspective is also wrong. She can alter reality, which means that she contains a far greater power than any of the characters in the SOS団. Yuki treats her as a chance for Evolution, Mikuru says she is a time distortion and Itsuki treats her as a God. All those may be different. She has the power enough to create a world where all of the brigade members (including her) don't have power

But in the later volumes, one of Kyon's friend from the past (Sasaki), comes in to the picture..Sasaki has the same power as Haruhi, but unlike her Sasaki knows about her powers and the powers and real identeties of those around her

There are other characters introduced that are, Fujiwara a time-traveler, Kyouko Tachinaba an esper, and Kuyou Suou an alien
