their singer so wanted to be david lee roth. the guitarist goes off some major off time and out of key wanking at the end...but i still like the original of this cover.
Suhweeet, I remember staying up late and seeing this broadcast, must have been about 14, dug the conga, went and bought the cassette the next day at Wherehouse with my yardwork pay.
I still have this on VHS somewhere. HUGE Bullet Boys fan so it was awesome to see/hear how they were in concert. I believe they did this and, For The Love Of Money and some others. On the same show was Slaughter and they played Up All Night and Fly To The Angels.
WhenI got theonly BB album I have, Ihad no clue of the infamous Waits Connection. That was the early nineties. I still don't care. Thanks for the info though. Makes it even better. I just hope the Waitsians don't come here and wine.
Baaaaaad. Poison Warrant etc were just inferior compared with these dudes. Check Tora Tora, Dangerous Toys, and of coourse Black and Blue. More? Spread Eagle, Love/Hate, Cats in Boots...Sea Hags. Most of them had one or two ok songs but that was it. Hair was essential.
Perhaps this is the reason Tom Waits never preformed without a shirt...But really, even though I've never been one for this style of rock, they did Tom's song justice
This is indeed from a concert featuring all three bands:Poison, Slaughter and the Bullet Boys. This filming took place at my first concert ever. I loved all three bands. This is total nostalgia, thank you.
Like a few others here, I once had this on VHS as well. If I remember correctly, this particular episode featured Bulletboys, Slaughter, and headliner's Poison. I already owned albums from both Slaughter & Poison at this point, but after hearing "Hang On St. Christopher", went out & bought "Freakshow" a few days later (on cassette, no less). It's a great cover, and by far the best track on that album. Thanks for posting this video.
Crue never went grunge! Nirvana lyrics never referenced Mott the Hoople. Pearl Jam never had lyrics like,"I'm a blueprint for disaster. You better not push me or I'll bring you to your knees. I'm a blueprint for disaster. You better not love me or I'll bring you to your knees.
Yeah I still have my vhs of this. Poison and Slaughter were the other bands featured on this same program. My only complaint back then (and now) is that ABC In Concert only aired one Bullet Boys song. Good tune though.
anybody who hates this band, this song, or thier performance of it is an idiot
people should hate and bash some of the music from this era
In 1991, by pure coincidence, classic rock and pop stalled, and about 90% of the brand new music coming out in stores was just hip-hop and modern R & B.
Every kind of horrible piece of shit band and song out there started to get played on MTV, and all of the artists from the 70's/ '80's lost their inspiration to write and compose good original music
Hair metal circa 1991 had this strange cloud (Chili Peppers, etc) hanging over its collective head, like the sword of Damocles. What in the fukk were Bulletboys thinking making Freakshow? It is so ill-conceived, failed art rock...Zaza in 1993 was a partial return to form, especially Laughing with the Dead, but by then the sword had fallen and the head was split (that's when things IMO got really interesting, 93/94:Danger Danger and Warrant going grunge, ACID MONKEY [the supposed new name for BBZ
Hmmm, haven't I seen you post the exact same comment on a few other music video type things? Two words: The first one is "Fuck" and the second is "You". I'd hate to know what terrible shit you probably listen to. Ignorant sheep you say? Lol, you truly are a hypocrite. Although I'm sure that word is beyond your "simple" vocabulary. Now, go post more of the same ignorant comment elsewhere and see if anyone gives a shit you attention whore. Why don't you just write: "Am I cool yet?" instead?
lonnie's the bass player, mick sweda is the rhythym/lead guitarist. jimmy d'anda, drums, marq torien vocals/bongos/bong hits......marq lived in ohio about 2 years ago and we hung out quite a few times...fun dude
this is for drumdummie321 my old band chastity opened a show for the well the singer with a whole new band the band was ok but the singer could not really hit the notes and i love the bullet boys but i did not like the show i thought they would be better
I'm impressed that a band like this would appreciate Tom Waits. I'm even more impressed that the singer is actually playing the drums to make the song sound right, and not just running around posing.
As far as 80s butt rock goes, these guys were pretty good.
I think u r slightly wrong abt. so-called "80's butt rock". I agree most of those musicians did run around on stage like headless chickens, but one thing u can't deny is that all those 80's metal guys were virtuoso musicians. They cud really play their instruments and cud play in circles around most of todays bands. And i'm only 20.
@moosepoop69 LOL! No. If you look at the comments from 3 years ago, you'll see that I was actually replying to another comment that was posted, and not referring to the video. ;-)
This is a decent cover... it just lacks the bite that I really like with Waits... it's a little sedate to me... especially considering it's a rock cover. I am a Waits fan, so I may be a little biased sadly... still all in all I think they did a decent cover... I think Tom is a hard act to cover without losing something in the process, he's just so distinct.
I remember watching this on television! Who would have known that it was about the last time any kind of real "rock" would be shown on network television.
They are so good even better now!!!! I even got to do marks makeup at the coach house gig. CUTE is not even close HOT and talented.
