Like all the rest thanks for posting this song!! Brings back memories when I was in middle school. I learned how to play the bass guitar part. I would go to school's band room the next day with my bass and play it to my fellow bandmates because it was so damn funky. I was so mad when the Funk era got choked out by disco and followed by rap. Now, I'm going to plug my bass in tonight and re-learn this bass line again. I need a digital copy of this classic!
One of the funkiest jams EVER recorded. I cannot possibly say how much I love this track. I don't care about the blatant Bootsy impression :-) . When you funk this hard, you can imitate whoever you want!
Great post and I'm glad to know the whole story. I swore this was a P Funk groove but a friend of mine set me straight. To bad about Mr. Jones misfortune it does make you wonder these guys would give G.Clinton and P Funk problems in the market share department.
Iflanery you are 100% RIGHT,,Jerome and Glen started mutiny, I used to play with Eclipse which was the name before the record deal with Arista--Also Mutiny came about from the mutiny from George Clinton
my uncles played guitar on most of these songs. Harry and Butch Watson. Uncle Butchie is in Japan and Uncle Harry just retired and lives in Colorado. I know Harry is still playing he came by my house years ago with his guitar and played for my children. I'm sure they both jam often either by themselves or looking for some band to jam with
Yo kids, Leon (aka musicminor) could play this shit too! I know, i used to cut high school and jam wit Leon in da Soul Pride Band practice place, wit no heat in da winter. Freezin for da funk! Original E-man!
Damm, I still have this album on vinyl this is classic funk from back in the day. One of my favorite songs. This ranks up with Holy Ghost by the Barkay's!!!! Man I am smiling right now!
Oh my GOD! THANK YOU for posting this!! I have been looking for this for *decades*. I have a terrible recording on a cassette which I recorded in '78 from the radio (KSOL!). I think this is one of the hardest-funkin' songs *ever* (complete with Bootsy impression). I've covered this song in two bands. Could never find a complete recording. I cannot thank you enough for posting this!
Quazar was created by Glenn Goins and Jerome "Bigfoot" Brailey with Kevin only participating in one cut and then there was problems with that. It is PLAINFIELD, NJ doesn't have a "s" in it.
I almost forgot about these guys WOW! That jam brings back memories. I used to go to school with this kid whose cousin was the percussionist in the band. I do know one thing, the bass is kickin' in this tune.
they would have beat the crap out of all the funk bands of the time if they continued, this is purest funk, glen coins definitely contributed to the funkadelic camp, thats why their albums after sort of sucked
i still have my original album on vinyl , SUPER FUNKY !!!

Thank U so much 4 posting this along with the history lesson of the song and group.
I can't believe after 'all' these years I now finally know why this song always reminded me of Parliament Funkadelic and Bootsy Collins
:-)
Bless U.
(I think I have played it about 4 times since I have been writing this,....LOL)

This is the funkiest song of ALL time. hands down.
Boosty, EWF, Foxy and Rick James were all caught off guard and took a lesson from this freaky behavior!

@musicminor25 Sorry man but ur mistaken.. Kevin and BigFoot created Mutiny in honor of Glen.. which many would consider quazar without Glen Goins.
