@IncredibleCheese try bringing sugar and butter to 300* C, then answer your own question lol (I'd open the windows first and disarm the smoke detector though)
This has got to be one of the most fun videos I've ever watched on youtube. I can't cook to save my skin, but I love watching others do it, and I love toffee. So kudos to you!
Wonderful...bravo. It definitely shows that you have been making this confection for many years. A friend of mine would say "It's not your first day at the rodeo."
Baker's Special is a C&H Sugar product. It is a very fine granulated sugar. Not quite as fine as powered sugar, but still very fine. By the way, powdered sugar cannot be used because of the no-caking additives.
This is fantastic. I just tried to make my first batch of toffee and I burnt the sugar (and filled my apt with smoke). My second batch will be much better thanks to this video!
is this degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius?

You can find lecithin at any health food store. Lecithin will keep the butter oil and sugar/water from separating. Steven - Columbine Toffee

Is lecithing necessary. Can it be replaced with anything easily available. Where to buy lecithin if it is essential.

thanks for that....what you describing sounds like caster sugar here in NZ....

England and NZ are very alike when it comes to ingredients etc. I think they are talking about caster sugar.
