In the books, you're right. But in principle it's the same thing. The main difference is that people are forced to support government, therefore it is less likely, in theory, for it to collapse. The problem is that it can't sustain itself, eventually the music will stop, debt grows faster than money. It being illegal or fraudulent is not my concern.
The real question should be where are we going to get the money from? We do not have the money to support this kind of spending bill. i think your problem is that you do not understand the basics of how the market place works. first of all, there isn't some finite amount of "pie" out there, and that if someone gets more, then someone else as a result is getting less. people create jobs, they create markets, and end up making pie for others.

In the books, you're right. But in principle it's the same thing. The main difference is that people are forced to support government, therefore it is less likely, in theory, for it to collapse. The problem is that it can't sustain itself, eventually the music will stop, debt grows faster than money. It being illegal or fraudulent is not my concern.

The only thing I agree with his a tax cut for the middle class. The budget needs to be slashed, and the Federal Bank dismantled. You can't borrow your way out of debt. There is massive restructuring needed in corps. like AIG and the automotive industry, and it will only happen through chapter 11, not by supporting thugs who continue to see profit. Wow. Every single Republican voted against the stimulus package. Now that is bipartisan. They did the same thing with Clinton's first budget. Gore had to break the tie in the Senate because every single Republican voted against it. They said it was a one way ticket to recession and the end of the Reagan/Bush revolution. Clinton said it would cut the deficit by $200 billion. Four years later the deficit was cut by $280 billion. Before long we had the largest budget surplus in history.

The really sad thing is if you took all the income of all the people who earn more than $70000 per year, you couldn't even begin to pay for the stimulus. So Boo Hoo. This will lead to inflation. I fear for our youth. I am lucky, my mortgage is fixed. Of course, I am also responsible by only borrowing what I can afford and paying my mortgage on time (but this is a different issue.) If you want to lecture about history, you should look into how the depression of 1929 was linked to the creation of the fed reserve in 1913 and not to the policies of Coolidge. Because of the New Deal Programs in the 30's it sent us into a further depression. The war got us out. Im not going to defend Reagan, he spent to much and set up the model for presidents today. The downfall of the middle class is government. Obama and Bush are the same there....

You really need to pay attention and understand what we are saying rather than just hear a soundbite in a propagandic video and automatically assume you understand the context. We lost the election because too many conservatives didn't show up to vote because there wasn't a conservative candidate running.
