@innit27 Agreed the WC90 was a massive failure, but that was hardly down to just one player. But the EC92 was a pretty decent tournament. In the same group as England, France and Denmark, the eventual winners of the tournament, we came out group winners. In the semi-finals we were knocked out by Germany (2-3), and Limpar only came on as a sub in that game. In WC94 he barely played at all.

Limpar was a diver, that's why the referees stopped awarding him penalties - even when he was really fouled. One of the most unfair players of the English league ever. George Graham was equally honest - ask John Jensen.
I don't hate Arsenal - this is a fine club with great fans, currently managed by a most skilled manager, that somehow manages to get great players walking away.
At last!!! Someone who agrees with me on that overrated plank Beckham,,its just as well Shunsuke Nakamura isnt english because if he was ,that gimp beckham wouldnt have an arse in his trousers.
true I agree. He's very overrated because of that halfline goal... I admire his technique and skill at taking freekicks tho. But the only thing he can is taking free kicks and passes. He's not that good of the rest such as defence, attack and that sort of stuff. He's overrated, but he's still pretty memorable because of the stunning free kicks he've scored. I respect him, even though myself agrees he's overrated. Nowadays overrated players are lucky ones. To get all the attention, money etc...
@RAFL94 He doesn't get any attention at all, I'd say. Not here in Sweden anyway. He never was a big player for Sweden, imo he was never given the chance he deserved, like in WC94 for example. He was however a pretty big player for Arsenal, winning the league, the FA cup and and the league cup in the relatively short time he was there. I don't think he was overrated, in fact I might even go so far as to say he was ahead of his time. He was quick, had good technique and a good passing game.
George Graham says he was the most talented player he ever managed but had attitude problems, Mickey Thomas said he was the most talented he played with. On his day Anders was unstoppable, if only he'd been managed by Wenger I reckon he'd have been up there with Bergkamp, Henry & Pires as one of the greatest gooners ever. A joy to watch

it's not... it's 40-45.

The pitch on Highbury measured 109x73 yards. He passed the center circle and that leaves about 40 yards to the goal.

Limpar had to do it as Kevin "brains of a smartie" was standing in an offside position as usual.
