I'm currently watching the Colors DVD and realized I'd never seen the video for this song. Not that that matters. I like to refer to this as Pre-Dream Team BtBam, AKA, Pre-tBam.
i noticed that this and mordecai both have videos were just show different sights and views from our cities, are they trying to deliver a message or a meaning to there video and or songs???
I think its Colors, The Great Misdirect, The Silent Circus, Alaska, BTBAM. I felt like Alaska had its moment (Alaska, Selkies, All Bodies, Backwards Marathon), but besides that it was kinda weak. I'm really not too big a fan of the first cd besides this and shevanel and arsonist.
I agree. And they are the best CDs. Sure Colors is phenomenal, and destroys their 1st albums in terms of technicality and all that jazz, but S/T and Silent Circus are still better. They are just perfect.
Agreed, I saw them perform material from The Silent Circus in a REALLY small house in Richmond for the first time before anyone had even heard the material. It was the best show I had ever been to, it was incredible. If they performed newer material there I would have still be blown away, but The Silent Circus material hit me hard. Imagine hearing Aesthetic for the first time ever, LIVE in a small ass room, so powerful.
Personally, I thought the Self Titled could have used more clean vocals, but overall, I loved it.
I think Alaska is my least favorite album, but Backwards Marathon is my 2nd favorite song ever, 2nd favorite BTBAM song as well, nothing will ever beat Mordecai
oops! I meant "wasn't overrun", anyways, you get the idea. The good days, Prayer for Cleansing, BTBAM, Undying, Beloved, Glass Casket, Quell, Azazel, Aria, Rapture Cabaret, etc! Shows just suck now...
This takes me back to when BTBAM ruled the state of NC, when the scene was overun with fags, and you saw some of the best interactions between the bands and their fans. It was a time when NC was on top of the metal game! Miss going to Prayer for Cleansing shows as well!
i also love prequal to the sequal and informal gluttony and selkies and alaska and mordecai and white walls and ants of the sky and the decade of statues and all bodies and fire for a dry mouth and arsonist btbam my favorite band
i agree that he is ridiculous, but it's not all tommy, he's gotten a lot better as a singer and screamer but the band alltogether has grown so much, and they all contribute to the music to make unforgettable masterpieces.
Will Goodyear, the drummer, did the clean vocals for the Self-Titled. Tommy did a little live, but didn't really take over the duties for the clean vocals until Will left before The Silent Circus.
I started with Colors then worked my way back. I like Alaska and Colors the best but all 4 are incredible. To me their older stuff sounds like it was influenced a lot more by other hardcore bands and with each successive album they developed their own sound. Blake, Dusty, and Dan all seemed to bring more balance in technicality to the group.
i loved this bands first two cds. alaska was decent but it just wasnt the same after the first two. they lost what was amazing about them. there new shit is boring. and for some reason i get this feeling that tommy rogers is gay. but thats just me.
I understand what both of you mean. Except I thought Alaska was still really good, not just decent. Their new album was interesting for like the first week...then it just got repetitive. Yes the guitar was really technical, but I like the old feel better.
Yeah, Colors is awesome. It's beyond awesome, you can't even describe it. My friends went to their concert and now I'm obsessed with their album they brought back.
i went to btbam about a month ago, and it was one of the best shows ive been to, topped only by the immortal OPETH, but as far as stage presence goes, tommy is an amazing frontmen and everyone in the band is extremely talented...any doubters should go to a show themselves
I wouldnt call it bitching, but steve vai doesnt jump around and screw up every note, but his stage presensce and shows are much more fun and technical then what i've seen BTBAM do. Amon Amarth know how to get the crowd going, and yet, no screw ups, and even if they do screw up once or twice, its live, theyre not expected to be perfect, thats what makes the whole experence.
Jackson just proved my point, KISS werent that great of a band music wise, sure they had a few a few hits, but it was there live show that made them big, their stage presence made them what they are today
why would yo usee them live 12 times, they have the most boring stage prescence i have ever seen
and i dont know why they do the chugging tremelo heavy stuff, the melodic stuff is way better, i want to hear the melodic stuff, but i hate having to listen to the stuff before it, or having to constantly fastforward, sure its technical, but who cares if it sounds like generic crap
KISS had a good stage show, but they sucked. and the old btbam was good, but not nearly AS good as the newer stuff. they are indeed a band that gets better every album.
you are missing out on a lot of the songs then. those parts are just as elegant and well structured as the other parts, like i tell my friends, they put you through hell to bring you into heaven, and so god damn well, so seamless. just listen to them longer and youll grow to love it
i understand that, but the band death did that too, they had dissonant riffs followed by beautiful melodies and vice versa, but with BTBAM its just so much of the same thing in between
I've been looking for this album since I found out that The Silent Circus wasn't their first and I haven't heard anything off of it untill just now, and now I really really need this album!!!
dude you are fucking missing out then i feel really.....really sorry for you. when you do get it listen to fire for a dry mouth put some head phones on and blast it from 4:50 seconds...listen to the guitars and bass.....its so beautiful. or listen starting from 4:00 and be shocked on how it fucking gets to that...just brutally beautiful
has anyone heard there newest album with the queen, metallica, blind melon and many more! covers have never sounded so fucking amazing! seen them 5 times so far and it never gets old, and dont believe they ever will.
omg, wtf, this song is good. First time I've heard it. I'm guessing it's off their self-titled album which have it I don't. Anybody have it? Say where you got it. I think I'll try Amazon.

its Tommy Rogers, the singer.

Yes, thank you; but what is he saying?
BooBooMcBad 3 years ago
Something about decay and neglect..its hard to make out the words.
JonnyZywiciel 3 years ago
Actually, in the original recording, it's the drummer.

wrong, its Will Goodyear the drummer at the time doing the clean high pitched vocals.
