Ah, the Banana Royal, a split that cost 75 cents and was the best. I had an inlaw that consulted with the dairy industry. He said that all the ice cream was tastier back then because of the amount of heavy cream. That is how HJ had their ice cream made. Many of us that ate at HJ and other long gone restaurants can attest to the fact that food tasted better back then, maybe not healthier in today's terms but tasty nonetheless. I would give almost anything to have a real HJ to go to right now.
