this is indeed sussex university, mandela hall, some students at the time filmed the whole show, the clash footage has only been publicly shown once about 10 or so years ago if my memory of the evening is correct...

I think this is Sussex University (just outside Brighton) on the White Riot tour. I went to the concert and remember the short stage and the glass panels at the back. Maybe current Univ. of Sussex students could confirm the architecture. I was 16 at the time and thought all concerts would prove to be this exciting - didn't turn out that way (Slits, Buzzcocks and Clash were great as well).

It looks/sounds more like something from the White Riot tour in '77, although I could be wrong. Now I think, wasn't there some talk of a Clash DVD with some Subway Sect footage as a bonus?
Wherever this is from, amazing to see it. I'd gladly pay to get the full thing (if it exists) on DVD.
