  • Paying for samples = paying to make hip hop

  • sweet that this got the clearance..needed to be heard

  • @kraigphrenia I don't think there is any sample clearance for that tiny, atmospheric yet absurdly expensive bit/bite/byte taken from the Beatles' "Tomorrow Never Knows" so far. Too bad that YouTube still exposes dangerously illegal music which - regarding to quite a few music managers and lawyers - no-one is supposed to hear. ;-)

Yesterdays Capitol Records (as far as I remember they demanded something like $ 100.000) is today's UMG, WMG, Sony, etc. etc. etc.

    "Psycho of Greed", indeed. :-(

  • Public Enemy

    "Psycho of Greed"

This unreleased track was recorded for PE’s latest CD, Revolverution. It contains a sample of the Beatles’ song "Tomorrow Never Knows." The clearance fee demanded by Capitol Records and the surviving Beatles was so high that PE decided to pull the track from the album.

HAHAHAHAHAHHA and yet here is this amazing track on YouTube!

  • A lost gem!
