I know on a guitar losing the tension of just one string can throw the rest out of tune...I imagine the effect is much more pronounced on a violin where there are only 4 strings. So can you just play everything a little flat to compensate? She seemed to do a pretty good job of working through it.

and WOW she is amazing. i've been playing the violin for 9 years now and if my A string broke in the middle of a song i would like scream and run off the stage since it makes everything go out of tune. kudos to her!

Other people would have stamped out of the stage after losing a string but like I always say, Lucia is a genius and has the most incredible love for music and performing that she wouldnt just leave the audience (and herself) feeling bad!

Lucia is the best she has inspired me to learn to play, I mean I've been wanting to play for awhile but not as much as when I heard her solo on Josh Groban Closer. Amazing!! I just got a new violin I'm determined to learn it and be just as good as when I play my flute.

wow! what a trooper. her string broke and she still kept goin. thats awesome! not that her string broke during the performance but that she has to make the best of it. shes such a bad ass violinist! kudos to her!

no. it was on her violin that one of her strings broke. she did lose a bit of string(hairs from her bow) but that's okay if that happens. it just means she pressing the bow(the wand that she is using to play the instrument) a little harder then usual. so does that explain it?

yes it does, thank-you. I have been learning since I got a violin and before that you shoulld be careful on that stuff but she just rocks it out.

actualy, the A string broke. she screams something for somebody in the left side of the stage in the moment and you can see the broken string hanging at the violin's scroll. and she becomes completely out of tune. but she did it well without one string. good job. and lose hair of the bow do not affect the tune. it's usual.

your VIOLIN goes out of tune automatically when a string breaks. This will be the reason for the out of tune notes.
