@Redmanfms not sure how really 'horrendous' it was - the sort of psychological stuff that gets raved about if a fashionable director does it - with the problem of having a mad dead guy providing the storytelling. Connelly & Dermot Mulrooney did look so alarmingly like siblings that one wondered if they'd done a DeHavilland/Fontaine name change long before. As clips indicate, JC could have done a lot of it without facial makeup and no-one would have noticed

"Fashionable" directors get raves when they do similar things thematically because they typically have the talent to pull it off, something Bruno Barreto lacks. Have you seen any of his other works? Blech! Connelly and Mulroney do look a lot alike in the film though.

Actually, having gone back and searched some of the old conversations I had with Mads on a couple fanclub boards, I realize that my memory of him was very much in error. He did have a great site, but he was also a pretentious jerk who made ridiculous accusations and had a propensity to believe that people who didn't believe as he did were part of some internet cabal....

Wow, 6-7 years really can change perceptions, can't it?

Anyway, Connelly was such a beauty...

I really miss Mads. I enjoyed conversing with him on the old JC newsgroup and the Yahoo fanclub. Before he decided to 86 his site it was arguably one of the best Connelly fansites on the web and it had a lively little discussion board.

Ah well....

I still have a crush on Jen, though he turning to extreme vegetarianism hasn't done her looks much good.
