The fact that David Boreanaz can play a character like Angel for 4 seasons of Buffy, then 5 seasons of Angel, but at any given time completely flip his personality and portray Angelus at the drop of a hat speaks volumes about his talent as an actor. I mean, Angelus was fuckin creepy at times! The cruelty and sadistic pleasure that he gained from physical and psychological torture was awesome!

I think you´re right when saying that only much people have to show interest. This could work. However, I don´t understand why no one bothered. I "know" so many people that want a filmed sixth season, mainly from video comments. There has to be an oppertunity to call people together to do anything..... But I wouldn´t know how....

This is a horrible promo. It doesn't capture the show at all and makes it look like a super cheesy trailer for a generic 90s B vampire movie. But then again, Angel is kind of hard to sum up and advertise because it's so layered. It's funny, campy, serious, dark, sexy, dramatic, epic- it's got it all. Seriously recommended.

@mrcreatureofthenight I second that opinion; the characters always struck me as being a lot more 'together' than in Buffy (OK, Angel had a bit of a breakdown in Season Two, but that was under VERY extreme circumstances)

Angel has it harder I think, Angelus was cursed with a soul where Spike earned his. My sister believes Spike is champion out of the two because he sought redemption by choice, and even without a soul he had love and devotion for first Dru and then Buffy, so much that even under extreme torture from Glory he didn't tell her about Dawn, he's just different to other vampires, angel is worse than others as a cold blooded killer, but I think that only makes his battle for redemption bigger
Spike is not the champion he claims to be. He only sought his soul due to his self loathing for trying to rape Buffy and while under the impression that Buffy would be his, after the fact. He only did it for a girl. Whereas Angel realized his existance with Buffy put her in danger and would only hold her back. He left to fight the good fight in LA. There is an episode of called 'I Will Remember You' when Angel got to be human and have a happy life with Buffy. He gave that all up to save her life
The Ring of Amara is another example for why Angel is a champion. He chose a life of hardship, over choosing the easy way out. In the mean time, Spike was trying to kill him. Some champion he is.
Plus Spike only became a champion by sacrificing himself to close the hellmouth. But Angel saved the world alot, not as much as Buffy but enough to earn him the title of Champion, which he doesn't want. Hell Spike realized it in season 5 of Angel. The coolest scene I've seen was when Angel, Spike, Illyria, and Gunn were standing tall against the armies of Wolfram and Hart.
I liked the whole season 4 Angel/Angelus and Faith coming back into it, but the Connor and Cordelia arc just annoyed me. But while I love Angel and Spike (spike more) I have to agree Angel is the better champion because he fights for redemption, always with the insane angelus side. Therefore angel struggles harder than Spike, who even without a soul was capable of affection and love for another, Angelus is only capable of cruelty, and buffy while she's a champion doesn't seek or need redemption

Angel is stronger then Buffy. Angelus would of killed Buffy if he didn't sto to brag. Also, in season 2 of Angel, he went into a werehouse full of demons and killed them all. It was the eps where he burnt Darla and Dru. Buffy wouldn't last a week in LA fighting the things Angel and co. do. Stop acting as if what YOU think is right.

Angel wasn't shown to be very strong in the first season of Buffy, then when he becameAngelus they started shown him off. By the time of Angel season 3, Angel was doing 25 foot backflips (eps 1). Buffy didn't beat any God. She used a lame looking hammer and it was Giles that killed her when she changed back to Ben. She even got owned by 3 nerds and would of died if Dark Willow didn't save her. That's lame.
In Touched in season 7 she was doing all sorts off stuff like running up walls and running across them and doing flips and she used her speed and thats impressive. To confuse Caleb And she did kick the hell out off glory 2 times. In blood ties and in tough love if you dont believe me go on willow vs. glory and then you see what I mean And plus for the hammer thing it shown that Buffy got strength also because spike couldnt even left the bloody thing and you see how easily Buffy left it.
Thats means you know the fact that angel was soft and their had to make him a little stronger to under go his own show. Faith used her imaginations to stop angelus and Buffy Is way clever and smarter and Buffy uses the environment and her emotions to give her power.
Angel is not soft.Yes,he holds back quite a bit to keep Angelus in check but when It comes to the grit,he`s not afraid to get his hands dirty for the greater good.On the other hand,Angelus`s habit of toying with his prey often ends up being his undoing.

The nerds used a gun in my corrections thats not an unfair and I remember angel getting owned by an arrow by faith or yes and Buffy dodge an arrow to save the girl in help.
Angelus could of killed Faith if he wanted to. He had a shot gun pointed at her face, but instead of shooting, he messed around. Again, the only reason he lost was because he was coxie, not weak. And Buffy isn't much stronger then Faith. Spike is weaker then all 3. Angel>>Buffy>>Faith>>Spike.

Well when she did kill Caleb, who was there to give her that last push? It was Angel. Angelus is a whole different thing. I think he can beat the crap out of a turok han....remember he has trained in fighting for over 2 centuries. Angelus is considered a master vamp. Dude your going into something that was never said. PTB already chose Angel as a champion way before Buffy started striking fear into the wicked. Reason was simple, he helped the slayer then took off on his path of redemption. So he was chosen from the beginning, then Spike became a champion when he sacrificed himself to save the world. Yet he was still showed a vision and prophecy of Angel in the Apocolypse that yet hasn't happened. It s in the magazines lol. Redempition isnt about self sacrifice, its absolution for past sins. He had 150 yrs of killin, so he took the path...
of redemption. Buffy never took a path like that. She has never killed in cold blood. Angel was paying back his sins, all while became a Champion. He still fights alone from what I've heard and read on the Magazines. I think Spike is with him also, they are both fighting together to protect the world.

This is a horrible promo. It doesn't capture the show at all and makes it look like a super cheesy trailer for a generic 90s B vampire movie. But then again, Angel is kind of hard to sum up and advertise because it's so layered. It's funny, campy, serious, dark, sexy, dramatic, epic- it's got it all. Seriously recommended.

@mrcreatureofthenight I second that opinion; the characters always struck me as being a lot more 'together' than in Buffy (OK, Angel had a bit of a breakdown in Season Two, but that was under VERY extreme circumstances)

But then I went and watched Angel and I fell in love with it, and it won my heart over Buffy. Not that I don't love Buffy, but I just thought Angel was a lot darker, and more interesting.

Angel has it harder I think, Angelus was cursed with a soul where Spike earned his. My sister believes Spike is champion out of the two because he sought redemption by choice, and even without a soul he had love and devotion for first Dru and then Buffy, so much that even under extreme torture from Glory he didn't tell her about Dawn, he's just different to other vampires, angel is worse than others as a cold blooded killer, but I think that only makes his battle for redemption bigger

Spike is not the champion he claims to be. He only sought his soul due to his self loathing for trying to rape Buffy and while under the impression that Buffy would be his, after the fact. He only did it for a girl. Whereas Angel realized his existance with Buffy put her in danger and would only hold her back. He left to fight the good fight in LA. There is an episode of called 'I Will Remember You' when Angel got to be human and have a happy life with Buffy. He gave that all up to save her life

Plus Spike only became a champion by sacrificing himself to close the hellmouth. But Angel saved the world alot, not as much as Buffy but enough to earn him the title of Champion, which he doesn't want. Hell Spike realized it in season 5 of Angel. The coolest scene I've seen was when Angel, Spike, Illyria, and Gunn were standing tall against the armies of Wolfram and Hart.

I liked the whole season 4 Angel/Angelus and Faith coming back into it, but the Connor and Cordelia arc just annoyed me. But while I love Angel and Spike (spike more) I have to agree Angel is the better champion because he fights for redemption, always with the insane angelus side. Therefore angel struggles harder than Spike, who even without a soul was capable of affection and love for another, Angelus is only capable of cruelty, and buffy while she's a champion doesn't seek or need redemption

Angel is stronger then Buffy. Angelus would of killed Buffy if he didn't sto to brag. Also, in season 2 of Angel, he went into a werehouse full of demons and killed them all. It was the eps where he burnt Darla and Dru. Buffy wouldn't last a week in LA fighting the things Angel and co. do. Stop acting as if what YOU think is right.

Angel IS stronger then Buffy. Angelus would of killed Buffy in their last fight if he didn't stop and start talking. Also, Angel got alot stronger as the show went on.
Buffy was in LA, but she wouldn't stand a chance with W&H, it doesn't matter if LA isn't on a Hellmouth.
The only reason Angel lost to Spike is because he didn't really care about winning that cup thing, he said so himself. In the eps where Cordy comes back, Angel kicked Spikes ass in 2 minutes. Stop being a Buffy fanboy.

Angel wasn't shown to be very strong in the first season of Buffy, then when he becameAngelus they started shown him off. By the time of Angel season 3, Angel was doing 25 foot backflips (eps 1). Buffy didn't beat any God. She used a lame looking hammer and it was Giles that killed her when she changed back to Ben. She even got owned by 3 nerds and would of died if Dark Willow didn't save her. That's lame.

In Touched in season 7 she was doing all sorts off stuff like running up walls and running across them and doing flips and she used her speed and thats impressive. To confuse Caleb And she did kick the hell out off glory 2 times. In blood ties and in tough love if you dont believe me go on willow vs. glory and then you see what I mean And plus for the hammer thing it shown that Buffy got strength also because spike couldnt even left the bloody thing and you see how easily Buffy left it.

Angelus could of killed Faith if he wanted to. He had a shot gun pointed at her face, but instead of shooting, he messed around. Again, the only reason he lost was because he was coxie, not weak. And Buffy isn't much stronger then Faith. Spike is weaker then all 3. Angel>>Buffy>>Faith>>Spike.

well not really, angelus being much more able to hurt buffy, seeing the past they have: season 2 of buffy was the best of buffyverse because of that: we still had the spirit of the shiw, we had spike and dru ebing spike and dru, cordy being bitchy, etc AND the "big bad" wasnt some stranger put in it for that, it was her damn lover, that's genius - made before, but nor so good, and remade after and worthless. well you see buffy is not just about demon slaying but life itself. Angel is just like demon slaying and other dark things. Buffy has: Hell's Bells, Once more,with feeling. you see. People who like musicals would like buffy's musical. people who like wedding episodes would like buffy etc. Buffy deals with real life things and problems as well as Demons and Vampires.

People can't relate to the wedding eps at all. Nobody even got married in that eps and there was a fight between humans and demons.
Once More With Feeling is also unrelateable, people don't randomly sing till they fry in real life.
You can't relate to graduation day because it had a snake kill everyone and the school blew up.
You REALLY should look up what RELATE means.

You need to understand that you can relate to things on a symbolic or metaphorical level.
People have families that quarrel at weddings; thus, people can relate.
The themes expressed in OMWF are easy to relate to because they're so broad and varied.
Anyone who graduated from HS can relate to the grad. day episodes, it was about banding together as a class.
Stop looking at things so literally and appreciate Buffy/Angel for its THEMES and METAPHORS. *THAT'S* what people relate to.

Well when she did kill Caleb, who was there to give her that last push? It was Angel. Angelus is a whole different thing. I think he can beat the crap out of a turok han....remember he has trained in fighting for over 2 centuries. Angelus is considered a master vamp. He did it to Buffy, Xander, Willow, Giles, Jenny, Spike, Fred, Wesly, Gunn, and Faith. Yeah true. The reason Angel's fight was never shown was because it stood that he would always keep fighting to protect mankind. Whether ppl didn't trust him or wanted him dead, The Powers That Be recognized him as their Champion to the world. Its weird ya knowing his past, but his destiny was written before Spike or Buffy. Plus he is the one vampire that could either bring Armaggedon or Salvation depending on his actions.

Reason was simple, he helped the slayer then took off on his path of redemption. So he was chosen from the beginning, then Spike became a champion when he sacrificed himself to save the world. So there really is 3 champions ironicaly they have all gotten freaky with each other: Angel, Spike, and Buffy.

how was he a champion before buffy becasue he was griving his past his murders soo buffy come along and helped him that why jenny calnader came to sunnydale to split their relationship up becasue their made angel not to grive so buffy helped him move on lol(mind my spelling)buffy killed herself.angel least 3 that was the champion in my opioin 2nd came spike and then buffy came first.

In reality, yeah I do. He is redeming himself for the crimes he's done. Plus there was that prophecy about a vampire with a soul becoming human when he was finished with his duty. True Spike has a soul also, but he wasn't the chosen vamp. In the comics of Angel, Wes showed Angel a glimpse of a war coming that would impact the world and him standing in vamp mode with bodies all around. So he was chosen a long time before Buffy. I know Buff did a lot more, but she wasn't in the path of redemption.

yeah but it was a prophecy about buffy going to killed be the master yeah it was true but it wasnt you know what i mean buffy fightened the prophecy it doesnt mean prophecy is always right,if he was so of a champion why did the monks choose him to defend the key but know the fact that buffy will fighht and defend her sister and literaly i dont thnk angel is much of a champion then buffy because buffy had the redemption to kill herself.!!!!

It was written during the time of the First Slayer that there would be a Vampire with a Soul will play the major role in the next Apocolypse and be awarded shanshu. he did make a tough choice when he signed it away in order to fight the senior partners. Yet he was still showed a vision and prophecy of Angel in the Apocolypse that yet hasn't happened. It s in the magazines lol. Redempition isnt about self sacrifice, its absolution for past sins. He had 150 yrs of killin, so he took the path...

of redemption. Buffy never took a path like that. She has never killed in cold blood. Angel was paying back his sins, all while became a Champion. He still fights alone from what I've heard and read on the Magazines. I think Spike is with him also, they are both fighting together to protect the world.
