What a fitting song by one of the all-time great bands, the Kinks. Does anyone know when this song was released by Davies and the band??? I just ran across it. It's a timely song for sure. Some experts(economists) are saying that gas prices are going to go down slightly...Does that mean pennies or something more??? Gas prices here in Alabama are running close to $3. 79 a gallon.

Gasoline was over $4 a gallon in late 2007 - early 2008 . Why wasn't that on this video ? You went from early 2007 to now, leaving that spike in gas prices out.

Fast food places would make a killing off it where are the leftover grease goes into a storage tank and people just pay a set price per gallon and continue running their vehicles on alternate technoligies. Why not?

I can't believe the anyone would name a gas station/convenience store "Kum&Go" (1:06), but if I had to clean the rest rooms at one, the title would probably seem more reasonable (or at least honest).

No doubt, once this recession/depression is over, oil will be right back up, headed for $200. Let's hope someone has come up with an electric car worth owning by that time.

I loved this song way back in the late 70's. You would think someone in the media or on television would have played this when talking about these high gas prices by now. They probably have not because of the drug references though. However the drugs mentioned in the song arent too much more expensive than a gallon of gas these days. Point well taken from Ray Davies.

You can really see the jump in price from before and after Hurricane Katrina, and how gas prices have really gone up since then. It seems like so long ago that gas was under $2, much less $4.

petrol £1.22ish diesel £1.38 ish averagely. but most expensive can be £1.29 1.48 respectively. strange, considering one of europes cheapest country for it is ireland.
