  • I.35 the voice is awesome great cover this is she nailed it!

  • Check out the response to this song by Camera Obscura, "Lloyd, I'm Ready to Be Heartbroken". That song really rocks.

  • This is one of the best songs ever recorded by a female artist...top 10 ever in my opinion. Compliments to songwriter Lloyd Cole, but she does the signature performance of this song, both studio version and here live. She needs to come out of retirement and keep doing new material and she could transform her career into legendary status. We get zero airplay of Sandie Shaw in Canada.

I definitely appreciate her "60's" style performance with a contemporary piece.

    Keep em' coming Sandie.

  • she is some lady,i just wish she would go on the road doing old and new,she is a true star, such a pro as always.

  • i prefer male singers for most music, also agree not as good as the original

  • @smithslover1 :can't believe it !

  • @Downbythewater73 what do you mean? and actually listening to this now, has shed some new light, i likes :)

  • great. but not as good as the original...

  • WHATS THE ORIGINAL SOUND LIKE?

  • whats with the capital letters?

and the original is lloyd cole & the commotions.

  • Comment removed

  • that's your bloody problem

  • Yes I'M READY TO BE HEARTBROKEN!!!

  • Sure? ha , ha... just listening to this... me too!

  • Much as I prefer LC&TC original, it's a beautiful song and this has an interesting slant to it. Still preferred Sandie doing 'Hand In Glove', with Marr, Rourke and Joyce though......

  • i'm older nowthan she was then - I think - and I still say, 'g'wan milf it up sandie!' good song tooo, respect to Mr. Lloyd Cole.

  • uhu... so fuckin'eighties. sandie's from naked feet to boots... that's her tribute to lloyd but i prefere the original one, though this sounds made with love, somehow

  • What is she?? LLoyd not glorified!!! Top vocals ha, short skirt to throw you off the singing!

  • Still remember her interview with Andy Kershaw. He tried to ask her out for a date...

  • Ah, le look des années 80....C'est la seule décennie qui n'est pas revenue dans la mode..Heureusement! Hormis ces commentaires sur le look, cette chanteuse a une super voix.

  • Sounds like The Smiths with Sandy Shaw with that chiming Byrdsian guitar ... I love the boots and the skirt, btw, she looks soooo cool. Shame about that loose jacket.

  • WOW, That little white skirt has just got to be tugged off. Sorry sexist comment. Great song though

  • Wow, I never thought anyone could make this song MORE 80s!

  • interesting cover of classic song thanks

  • When people say 'interesting', their interest is rarely beyond the first listening.

    Interesting.

Maybe you could extend on your shoe wearing by being the frontman for the Smiths, sans Morrisey, Sandy? Heaven knows...

If I may contradict myself, Lloyd Cole is not 'interesting'!

  • Timeless Sandie Shaw as beautiful and "with it" as ever and SOOOOO COOOOOL

  • yes coooooooooooooooolllllllllllllllll, and very very very classy, just look at the way she moves ... and that smile WOW!!!I just melt away

  • I never knew of this version . Am very familiar with Lloyds since the 80´s .

Interesting take on the song , and not bad at all. Will digest happily :-)

  • ?????

  • what else to expect from you regarding Sandie ???????????????

  • better singer than lloyd

  • Loved her in the 60's when I lived in England. Really enjoyed this song. Weird to see her wearing shoes though !! LOL

  • love the song, love lloyd, & LOVE SANDIE!

  • I agree with you Norn ,both creatures are lovely and each version is divine

  • LLoyd Cole is a genius and his version is so much better than this one (which is also quite good anyway)

  • I'm a great fan of Lloyd's but I must admit his version is not better than this one;Sandie does a fabulous job here you have to admit it!!!However this is a great song in itself!

  • Lloyd Cole wrote it

  • WHAT A LEGEND THIS WOMEN IS.

  • great song

  • wow what a babe. hope u read this sandie, cause i think the world of u!

  • Who wrote this? Was it Morrissey or Lloyd Cole?

    either way, cracking song.

  • this is Lloyd cole song.... Sandy is so much a sex babe...

  • oh, its marvellous...! What year?

  • 1984

  • first verse is the best!!!
