  • hhmmmmmmmm

  • Ron Paul & Gerald Celente knew that the depression was coming.

  • Nice! Cool stuff... I agree, invest in human capital, not just products. we are a service industry. People want to work and make a living, but not with a big company... so please U invest in people (intel) and we will invest in and sell your products :)

  • This is so cool! hey thanks for uploading this video. I'm going to subscribe!

  • Nobody's ever negligent in a fist-fighting accident. Americans grows fatter & dumber by the minute. F.E.M.A. is our Gestapo. Let's spend our way out of economic chaos just like Brazil did! Society'll have to choose between humanism {which is but another shade of collectivism} & libertarianism {self-sovereignty}: Man as free or Man as slave. The Darwinist/"atheist"/hedonist/elitist movt. aims to create a hellish Earth. Einstein married his cousin. He justified it with his theory of relativity.

  • Sir,...I share your optimistic perception as it relates to the reversal of current economic trend., ...This message is stablizing and empowering!

    Regards,

    mratteon

  • Retarded CEO.

Everybody who was not driven by greed saw this comming. The writing on the wall was really easy to read.

You Bastard you are a part of the problem not of the solution.

  • never blame a handicap for his or her inability to make intelligent deductions

  • ♥

  • Von Mises Institute got it right

    Ron Paul got it right

    Peter Schiff got it right

  • I Wanna shake that mans hand

  • "no one saw this coming"? Thats an unfounded statement. Plenty of people "in the know" saw this crisis coming.

  • It was predicted in several ancient prophecies dating back centuries ago that our civilization would eventually come to an end. Personally, I dont think it means the end of our species, but more to do with our way of life and the way we choose to co-exist with other species in our environment. We've been creating according to ego based desires and intelligence which is almost always too short sighted to spot the implications of our activities and divert them before it's too late.

  • wow! speak of prediction! civilizations ALWAYS have a begin and an end. Our "civilization" is no exception. Crisis, however, does not necessarily means end.

  • intel i7 core

  • How did we get into these bizarre ideas below that everything would be just peachy if we defunded defense and that the GOP and not the eco-fascists drove jobs away by making hiring costs so noncompetitive!?! Yes those'll sure be pretty new bridges crossing the Potomac for the Russian army to march over. Someone please explain to me how the answer to "fixing" an economy destroyed largely by reckless govt spending is to repeat FDR's ruinous policies on an infinitely more destructive scale?

  • no one can predict future economy.

  • Agreed, but one thing Mr. Barrett... Peter Schiff did see this coming, and is predicting it'll get much worse.

  • Honestly, I would very much beg to differ about the anticipating the economy problems. I would not go into it here, but I am quite sure that there are many, many companies whom which were quite aware of the fact, that how they were operating, and what their income was contingent upon, were a plan for disaster.

I do believe that there were severl indicators that would have pointed to the emerging problems, long ago.

I don't see any way that jobs can be created fast enoguh to save us.

  • Simply creating new jobs based on our current economic model is not feasible. The wealthiest among us need to reinvest that money back into the people, into the environment, and create new projects, new technologies, new developments, new education systems and methods, and ways that we can go forward in a new direction without recycling the old behaviors of pursuing self interests at the expense of other species and the ecosystem.

  • out of the kindness of their own hearts?

that would take an act of God and you know how hard it is for rich folks to get into heaven

  • Not just out of the kindness of their hearts (see heartmath for more info), but initially from the realization that it is also in their best interests if they value their existence and our civilization.

Balance is the key to creating the kind of harmony that we as a civilization desperately need right now. And that means sharing that 80% of the worlds wealth which is owned by only 10-15% of the worlds population. It has to be redistributed, otherwise it'll eventually be worth nothing at all.

  • while I agree with what you are saying my comment was more geared toward the "how" of the matter. These greedy people are the one who are in the seats of power they are not all of a sudden going to just change their thinking without a force to compel them.

We need a new class and generation of people to attain power which could start the process at zero and give us a few generations before too many of them became corrupt all over creating another imbalance.

  • First it's important to see tht the tendency to engage ego intelligence is a habit must be dropped. Ego by itself is neither intelligent nor wise enough to make the kinds of choices that need to be made, b/c ego is inherently concerned with self interests, not shared interests. When self interest dominates decision making, imbalance is the result that leads to system incoherence e.g the decimation of an ecosystem which took millions of years to establish and upon which our very existence depends

  • "they are not all of a sudden going to just change their thinking without a force to compel them"

The "force" is logic and insight. Logic and insight will show you that if you consistently pursue selfish interests over system balance and the betterment of your species, then you must be short of a few billion neurons. But what will really compel them to change is the realization that if they dont change, then they die. (if that doesnt work, then we'r doomed! lol)

  • "We need a new class and generation of ppl to attain power.."

I would qualify that by saying that this new class must be acutely aware of the ego element and take measures to ensure that it does not become the dominant factor in decision making and planning. B/c if the core consciousness that we function from is largely ego-dominated, then decisions, actions, and ideas that emerge out of such an ego-structure will naturally procure imbalances at the physical/environmental/ecological level.

  • Yes, Indees. I don't believe they can "Create" jobs out of thin air, reguardless of how much money they have. And I agree 100% that the "investment" has to be ther people.

Without the People, they don't have a company. So people are the Key.

I can say though, "fixing" the education system, may be near impossible, however. But keeping people working, is a huge part of it.

  • "But keeping people working, is a huge part of it."

Yes. The question is, working at doing what? If it's the same work (i.e. destroying that which we depend upon), then that's not going to work for us. There is a way forward, but it requires some sacrifices. One of them being greed. We need to re-create our economy based on sound principles of logic and reason that encompass advancing the well being of every human being on the planet and not just the well being of a select elite.

  • "the well being of every human being on the planet and not just the well being of a select elite"

There is only one problem with your suggestion. The well-being of the elite is dependent upon the not-so-well-being of other humans. There's a certain kind of feeling (shot of chemicals) that one gets (addicted to) from being elevated in position/stature/wealth, higher importance, sophistication, cleverness, or creativity than another.

How to overcome this addiction? Maybe it's not so easy.

  • While there's nothing wrong with having material possessions, cultural sophistication and cleverness etc, if having these only feels good in comparison to a lot of people who have less, then there is definitely an imbalance that needs to be corrected. Because it's this fundamental imbalance that drives people to make decisions that are vested in achieving personal gain at the expense of other human-beings/species/the eco-system.

  • As for the addictive-chemical aspect of this condition, it's like anything else that's addictive. First thing is to recognize the addiction/imbalance and its root. After that initial recognition, logical steps can be taken to correct it. Until that happens, it's just one big smoke-screen.

  • indeed...There is not enough room for me to write here, how I believe we can fix thing...But what you stated is true was well. My plan would ecompas nearly "all" the monies they want to "Bail Out" things, and instead create a couple new companies that will make products we need, and should have been using already by now. Thats the bulk of it for me. And also perhaps eliminating "bonuses" for exectutives and up.

  • this guy is a douchebag

  • very wise man. Thank you Mr. Barrett.

  • Amen to that. Until the majority of voters know the difference between a capital item (bridge) and a expense item (tank) we're screwed. As Howard Taft opined, "We cannot keep this country ready to fight an all-out war unless we are willing to turn our country into a garrison state and abandon all the ideals upon which our state was erected." We abandoned our ideals 60 years ago. Our "defense" is now consuming at least half of our industrial output. For the night watchman's department ???

  • In the 1950s the USSR knew this about us , ( Without a First Class Tax Paying Base , The USA , Cannot Afford A First Class , Infrastructure or Military ) , all the were waiting for was the GOP , to deregulate laws and ship her jobs overseas , and that in place , to wreck herself !

  • If we'd invest in infrastructure capital instead of military expenses we would back up our paper money, not inflate it. This is the 800 pound gorilla nobody will confront. In '92 my factory (Soloflex) had a visit by our Russian Sister City's mayor. I told him I worked five months every year and gave every penny I made to my generals to protect me from him. He countered that he worked 11 months every year to protect himself from me. Those were the right figures then. Much worse here now

  • If the Military was to shift more down onto the commercial sector than it currently does the investments of the US would be better stretched and now under Barrack Obama instead of Mr bushy between the ears there is hope that more can be worked on in the civilian space given the right lobbying in Congress. So its up to you to empower such change and not to simply expect it.

  • One point is that it does not always require the most money to drive new products there is therefore an issue with cohesion. Youtube and Windows are great places for cohesion but lack adequate competition from others with respect to certain market interests to really push the movement more forward and with the right thinking such might be cheaper to get started than one might have been driven to believe.

In which case the words needed are thought and proficiency not just plain market efficiency.

  • The real Question is when am I gonna see a 180GHz Indium Phosphate Based IA-64 Linked into an appropriate array of network processors as my Home CPU.

Then the Question is when is when am I gonna get the whole thing layered with New embedded Units that make use of quantum computing ect.

I suppose the answer is that with little to no investment !never.

  • Why is there only 3 (now 4) comments?!

I think it's great that we can have CEO's on here like this talking to us about how they are conductiong business. Not that he said much, but it's a fresh change.

  • and this is why intel survives.

  • whatup hahahaha this video is cool omg but look at this h1t m3 0n my y4h00. its: kelly4funonline
