  • I think makeup is helpful to make you feel more put-together and self-confident. I wear makeup most week days, but only mascara and sometimes a little bit of eyeliner. On the weekends, unless I'm going out on a date or out with friends, I usually don't wear any. & Would I go to a party without it? Probably not, just because I'd feel like I wasn't finished getting ready. Makeup is the last thing I do in the morning & it just makes me feel like I'm all set and ready for the day.

  • I like to wear makeup because it makes me look more "put together." However, I wear so little, eyeliner, blush, and that's pretty much all I need. :)

  • It's really just since getting pregnant that I'm getting into a holistic natural lifestyle, but the more I read and hear about how much better it is for me and baby, the more I'm hooked and doing a "makeover" on my lifestyle! In the past 6 months I've hit my fridge, my cleaning supplies, my carbon footprint, my medicine cabinet, and my birth plan. BUT my makeup drawer has not yet received a makeover! I just find my "look" that I've created with familiar conventional products part of my identity!

  • I feel no need to wear make-up in everyday life. I look like what I look like. Why would I want to hide that? I wear make-up to parties but only very lightly. I do it to set the mood for celebrating. I don't mind others that wear make-up as long as it's not 'caked' on!

  • LOL @ you'll let her name them and you post those funky names of her kids! You guys are awesome!

  • IF I wear makeup, it's only mascara and lip balm. I'm a Ginger and makeup just covers up my freckles :)

  • i just bought a bunch of make up to try it out and i ended up spending over $50 on foundation , mineral powder and blush eye liner and some brushes and face cream i normally just wear eyeliner and maybe eye shadow and some blush i guess i just want to do something to make me feel pretty i also seem to be having body image issues while being pregnant but i love my baby bump and feeling my sweet girl bounce around i cant wait to meet her !!

  • Just discovered this channel tonight (I was searching for baby-led weaning videos)! Watching these videos really made my husband more open to ideas like making your own baby food!

I wear concealer, mascara, and cream blush pretty much everyday. I usually put in on while little man plays on his floor mat. My make-up bag actually stays in the nursery because of this!

  • Thanks to my clean eating my complexion has improved and I have been able to go bare-faced. I have been following a paleo diet and my skin is like butter. I put on a little mascara and call it a day. If I go out I will add some eye liner and some bronzer.

  • Oh, the wonderful world of vanity..aren't we all victims of it..lol. I definitely wear make-up, but I don't mind going all natural either. I'm not huge into make-up, but I definitely would wear to a party {wouldn't want ppl running out terrified}

  • Loving the MNS! I have a request for you?? What about healthy options for packing kid's lunches. Our daughter is in Pre-K and I pack her lunch, but I'm in search mode to find a variety of options for her. I would love to see you whip up some ideas for us desperate mamas:) Also, maybe add in some lunch sacks or boxes you find to be compact, but able to hold a variety.

  • Great episode as always! Love your videos!!

  • im a makeup up artist and i hardly wear make up unless in "going somewhere" ie dinner or function, but ging to pick my kiddo up from school or grocery shopping errands and things like that i dont bother, but i do love make up its a fun way to express yourself and a fun way to enhance your natural beauty, also it has the ability to change someones mood if they are haveing a bad day a little pampering can go a long way!

  • I dont think I would be so brave to go to a party without some make up, but I do like to wear it when I go out. Not only do I feel like it does help cover up blemishes, it also is just fun to put on and experiment with the various colors blushes styles ect.

  • I love your Channel MN! I absolutely love makeup too! I am a makeup artist and find that makeup is such a wonderful tool to enhance peoples natural God-given good features. Makeup makes me feel confident and beautiful and I love that with a little soap and water you can wash it down the drain and start over :)

  • @silentmusic22 Thank you :)! Glad you stopped by. XO.

  • I scar really easily from acne, and due to allergies... I am frequently broken out on my face. I need to wear makeup to feel, normal. I try my best to choose companies that limit their "bad" ingredients, and I stick to all natural. I try my best not to wear it on weekends when I'm at home. I know make up doesn't make me who I am, it just lets me shine through my unfortunate situation.

  • I am 41 and I am just stating to get into make up and wearing it right. Before i would but lipstick on, then use the lipstick as blush and eye shadow, then just use eye liner. Now thanks to you tube I am learning how use use make-up the right way and I don't need to use just lipstick as my make-up.

  • We live very natural in my house, but my one weakness is makeup. I feel more confident, what can I say! I'd love to get to the point where I felt fine without it, but for now, I like to glow, shimmer, shine and bronze. :)

  • Great Episode. I'm a freelance MUA and used to get dolled up for almost anything. But now with a baby (23weeks), it's hard to find time to even brush my hair! Luckily, my husband doesn't mind either way, but I still get dolled up for special occasions :)

    And yeay for Erykah Badoula!

  • Mama Natural I just came across your channel and I am hooked! Needless to say, my hubby saw a few videos and he likes em' very much! Yay! I used to wear tons of make up before I had our baby girl, but not so much now. I probably wouldn't go to a party without it lol, but I do go out to the store or to eat without makeup. I keep it nice and simple with a little bit of blush, mascara and lipgloss :)

  • @julieperez06 XOXO. Glad you stopped by :).

  • Hardly wear make up. I'm confident with my natural face :) that and i hardly have the time with a 4 month old and being a single parent. I wear it when I go out, but lately when is that?

  • i rarely wear make up. when iwas younger i would wear make up ALL the time but since my child was born i have no interest in make up but when i do wear it on occasions i feel FIERCE and BEAUTIFUL.

  • I used to wear make-up daily, but since becoming a stay at home mom 3 weeks ago (when our adopted son was born), I've worn it MUCH less. :) I always tried to keep it natural-looking and subtle, though. And I have to say, I think that Lady Gaga looks BEAUTIFUL without make-up. I wish she'd let her real self shine through more!

And BTW, Mama Natural, you are so pretty and your skin is wonderful. I'd love to know what your skin-care routine is! :)

  • @shawnkimadopting Aw, thank you. I used Kiss My Face olive oil soap at night and Tropical Traditions moisturizer in the mornings. XOXO!

  • Eryka Badu is such a beautiful woman, inside and out - what an amazing thing she is doing for other woman. I never felt like i needed to use make-up, but i do like to use it every now and then when i'm going out somewhere nice or if i want to feel a little more made up.

  • I LOVE makeup :)I wear it almost daily.I think anything that allows a woman to feel more confident without having to go under the knife is awesome.I wouldn't go to a party with out makeup but I do go to the grocery store or to run errands with my daughter without makeup quite a bit.Love the bit about Eryka Badu! She is one of my favorite artist <3

  • I actually never wear makeup. My husband likes me without it. So I actually feel a little self conscious with it because I know my husband thinks I am more beautiful without it.

  • I really enjoy looking "put together" so I usually do wear a little makeup when I go out, although not all the time. I hate that some folks thing mama's are boring, frumpy etc because I think all women are beautiful and deserve to feel like! Makeup can enhance natural beauty and give a little extra confidence when we need it most!

  • Ah! For give my typos! Typing from a iPad while nursing baby isn't that easy ! I mention to say "when it's about time for the hubby to come home from work ...." and "embrace" instead of "embrues"! Sorry!"

  • Since giving birth to my amazing baby boy almost 6 months ago the hormones have made my acne go out of control! I am a stay at home mom and don't wear much make up if I'm just around the house with little one so I can let my skin breathe a bit. When its about tine for easy to come home from work I always freshen up my using make up to cover up blemishes and enhance my eyes with a little eyeliner and mascara ! Although he says he thinks I'm beautiful with out it :) it gives my confidence, makes

  • Since giving birth to my amazing baby boy almost

  • I like to wear make up most of the time even if I am just going to be at home with my daughter. I am 8 months pregnant and the mommy to a 17 month old, it makes me feel good about myself to walk past a mirror and know that I am not only a mommy but a woman! :)

  • I wear make up daily, but I have definitely learned to tone it down since being in high school. I like to think of my makeup routine as accentuating my natural features, not covering them up (well, except for the occasional blemish). :D Great show!

  • I personally rarely wear make up and if I do it is just they eyes. I don't see anything wrong with make-up as long as it is worn for the right reasons and not caked on to the point of ridiculousness :p

  • I've been wearing makup since a very young age, therefore I feel a lil naked with out it :(

  • I'm in college and I definitely feel a lot of pressure to wear makeup daily. Girls here are so pretty and it makes me feel a little bit inadequate when I don't wear makeup. My boyfriend always says I'm beautiful without it, but I still feel like I should wear at least eye makeup. My usual regimen consists of foundation, powder, eyeshadow: basically the whole works. When I'm feeling lazy (or like my face needs a break), I just wear eyeshadow, liner, and a little mascara.

  • When I was younger, I never left the house without makeup. Not even to run to the grocery store, or if I had a 7:00 am class in college. Once I finished school, though, I found I was much more comfortable going without makeup. Now I rarely wear it. Usually it's just a church on Sunday or date-night with my husband thing. I think it makes wearing makeup more special.

Although I knew my husband was the one when he didn't notice I wasn't wearing any on our 5th date. :)

  • I'm a 21 year old momma and since having my daughter i wanted to set a good example to her. I want her to grow up to feel confident in her own skin, so now i only wear make up for occasions.

Make up can be a nice way to make you feel feminine but today most girls feel it is just part of there everyday clothing.

Love yourself for who you are and your natural beauty will shine through! :D

  • I can’t live without my under eye concealer! On the work days, I only put on very neutral eye shadows and concealer and I’m good to go.

  • Hey! Natural Mama. I really love the way you deliver your videos.

  • @TheRedBoxVoice Aw, thank you! Your kind words keep me going :)> XO.

  • I prefer the natural beauty, but I don't mind some make up.

Lately, I put make up on when I have enough time to get ready before I go out to work or school lol

I don't feel any less attractive without it.

At the end of the day, your special someone will have to look at your face without any "mask" or covering. I'd rather take good care of my skin and have the natural glow.

  • i never wear makeup, it just doesnt feel right. if im going to a rave i wear makeup but really? i dont need it.

  • I don't usually wear make up. I like to but honestly I like to spend my money on the necessary items. When I do wear it however it's not usually much. Just eyeliner, eye shadow (light), and a little lip gloss.

  • "No wire hangers!!!" Haha Classic! I remember my mom telling me when I was little that once you start wearing makeup you will always have to wear it. So I never wear makeup. I like that I don't have to make it apart of my routine.

  • I don't care about make-up much. I wear it to go out with hubby on date night once a week but for the rest of the week I am all natural...Just a bit of pink gloss& some good mascara from time to time looks great! =)

  • I love Ms EBadu!!!!She is my idol and i hope she will be in the business long enough to deliver my baby! I only wear make-up 3-7 times in a month. I don't care about make-up. when you talk to someone your looking into their eye's. Trying to engage in a conversation and connect to another being. I'm not saying my face is flawless but that I embrace my natural beauty. This is something that America should embrace. Make-up is just a way to hide our true self and it is hard to accept ourselves.

  • If the barn needs painting, paint it. :)

  • I like make-up. It offers a way for you to look a little bit different depending on how you apply it. I sometimes go without make-up, usually when I go camping. I like to wear natural make-up so I look good and look like I'm not wearing any. I usually wear it everyday and NO I probably wouldn't go to a party without it.

  • I love makeup! I think it's fun to experiment with new looks and colors, and I enjoy trying out new products. I've been wearing makeup for years and although I don't wear it every day I definitely put some on before leaving the house. I like to look my best when I'm out and about, whether I'm just grocery shopping or having lunch with friends, and I think makeup helps accentuate my best features as well as hide the things I don't love (for example this awesome pregnancy acne...).

  • I would love to enter. I'm a makeup artist and I love to go with little or without makeup during the day and when I go out I like to do dramatic theme makeup to go with my outfit. I love to paint peoples faces from natural to bold.

  • I only wear make up once in a while. Depends on my mood buy 100% of the time i'm without it. When i do wear it I might throw on a llight peacy or pink rouge , or some light eyeshadow, thats usually it though.

I dont feel 100% comfortable in my skin with make up on. Weird but hey - Thats just me :)

  • I wear makeup but not too much, I want to keep it natural and still look good:) I do not go all out with powders and foundations though, just a little eye makeup and some blush and im ready to go! There is no beauty better than your natural beauty!

  • I hardly wear make up anymore, it's not a necessity and with baby on the way all of my extra cash goes straight into savings.

  • I am a minimalist when it comes to wearing make up. I stick to the basics- a little bit of under eye concealer, eye shadow and mascara! I can go out of the house without it, but I dont feel as good about myself.

  • I also see the art form, and I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with wearing it; just with thinking that make-up is necessary to be beautiful and/or acceptable - no matter what the natural face looks like, it is beautiful!

  • I think that we as women are trained to "feel better" with make-up on because of the advertisements we have all been exposed to our entire lives. It wasn't the the definition of beauty thousands or even hundreds of years ago. I also have to wonder why our society is so artificial & superficial that people feel they can't go out of their houses without painting/disguising themselves in order to be acceptable to other people? Weird.

  • very rarely do i put on make up except for a special occasion such as my baby shower this weekend!!!! when i do wear makeup i stick to natural mineral veil makeup or burts bees love them both!

  • I like to wear makeup! Ofcourse I buy organic, mineral, natural makeup not tested on animals. But I feel nice wearing it! I wear it if I am going out of the house usually. I would go to a party without it, but I prefer to wear it!!

  • I think make-up is good as long as you know how to apply it right. Although sometimes I like to just play with it like I'm painting a canvas! If I'm going to be home all day I usually don't like to wear make-up, it's nice to let my skin breath. And no I wouldn't feel comfortable going to a party without it!

  • The last time I wore makeup was on my wedding day over 2 years ago. Too much money and too much effort to put a face on everyday. I also don't like that it makes me look fake. Just some lip balm to help out those dry lips and I'm on my way!

  • i haven't always been big on make-up (ie as a teen/early 20s) but in the last couple years (25 now) i've started wearing mascara, a little eyeshadow, eyeliner, & chapstick or clear/lightly tinted lip gloss. i'm very make-up challenged passed that lol. i truly do feel better about myself with it on!

  • I love wearing makeup. I feel better about myself when I'm down and depressed & when I'm happy! I feel sloppy sometimes when I don't wear it. Either way makeup or no makeup women are beautiful:)

  • Anyone who knows me personally knows I can't live w/o my makeup! I won't even run to the grocery store w/o it. I've been wearing makeup since I was a young teen and at this point I feel too "exposed' if I'm not wearing it. I just feel way more confident with makeup on.

  • I just love you. You are so funny!! :)

  • @thinklove36 Aw, thanks so much Kelsey! You made my night :). XO.

  • I always have to wear foundation and mascarra if im working or have something important to do...but SOOO love the days when theres nothing to do and no make up on my face. feels so....free!

  • I wear make up maybe 5 times a year :S Only for special occasions. I like how I look with make up but I simply prefer to sleep 5 minutes longer in the morning instead of getting up and get my hair done or paint my face =)

  • I don't really wear makeup (unless chapstick is makeup!). The only times I wear a little makeup (meaning a little eyeliner and lip color) is for an anniversary date with my husband. I think makeup is ok, we just don't need to go overboard and suffocate our skin!

  • I did not think I could live without make-up until I got pregnant 5 months ago and now I really don't use very much make-up day to day. However, I use it for special events and when I'm feeling like I need a BOOST of confidence. I confident and happy mom is a comfortable and healthy baby.

  • Personally i feel better when i wear makeup, But again i don't wear that much. I think that as long as your motive in wearing make up is to enhance your NATURAL beauty and no cover it up that it is perfectly fine and can boost your confidence in a healthy way.

  • im definitely a makeup wearing mama :)

  • I usually only wear make-up when going out. I do not wear any at work or when physically active. It is funny to me when I go to the gym and there are women there with a face full of make-up. But to each their own :)

  • I don't like to wear full make up very often, but I do make sure to wear it to important events so that I can 'look my best'. However I do put on basics on a daily basis - for me this means sunscreen, mascara and lip gloss. I like to let my skin breathe a bit and not go overboard with my make up all of the time!

  • ually I wear makeup - for him - even though he claims I don't have to. And I usually wear little eye liner because I've trained myself not to rub my eyes (making myself more tired) when I have it on. But from going to party-working-engaged girl to mom, I don't have much use for it anymore.

  • Make up... Has changed A LOT after child birth. I had my first son at 20 (pretty young) and daught at 21. So I went from high school (5 jobs), to still working about three jobs after, to engagement, pregnancy to stay-at-home mom and housewife. Some days I just don't need to wear makeup. But my Mama always told me to look good for my man! He goes to work every day and see pretty women, comes home to just mom in her pjs?

  • Mama Natural, I just love you! =) Your videos are the first ones I look for when I log on!! I just love makeup! I wear it several times a week. Like when I go to church, to the store, ect. Basically anytime I go out. It does make me feel better about myself.

  • @jessinjamie2006 Aw, you are so sweet, honey. Thank you! Your comment warmed my heart to overflowing. God bless you. XOXO.

  • I only put natural makeup on when I leave the house. For me, putting on makeup creates a new persona for me of a strong and confident woman. It means I can leave the house with my head held high knowing in my mind that I look good. I have no problem wearing it and being a confident mama :) xoxo

  • I only wear makeup a few times a year. I'm too lazy to put on makeup. I feel pretty enough without makeup. My eyes look great with a little eye liner, but really who cares. Slap on some moisturizer and sun block, get good rest, eat healthy, work out, and smile once in a while....that is how I look my best.

  • I didn't used to wear makeup...but am just starting to get into it a bit. The baby weight is finally coming off, and I'm starting to feel good about myself. So let's work it! :)

  • I don't wear alot of make-up but I do always wear some...my normal make-up routine is Tinted moisturizer, Tinted lip balm and Mascara...I only add other things if I am going somewhere special!

  • I don't use make up unless I'm going somewhere special. I do like to buy it though and i subscribe to a few beauty gurus on here as it has always facinated me. My partner loves me no matter how I look. Maybe if I posted videos I would put someone then. :)

  • I am just to low maintanence for make up. I really don't want to put the conventional stuff on my face for fear of chemicals. I have yet to find all natural or organic makeup (and doesn't cost an arm and a leg) that will stay on my face through tears or sweat (both happen most days for this mama, haha!). I do wear it on date nights or to parties. Dh loves me the way I am and honestly his opinion is what matters most to me :)

  • i don't wear makeup at all. i'm the type of person that is like, "love it or hate it, i don't care."

    :)

  • I wear makeup a couple times a week. Though it's usually just some concealer and mascara. I find I am too lazy to wear it a lot, and my husband hardly notices :P.

I did take the time to switch all of my makeup over to non-toxic versions from 100%pure.ca over the last couple months and I am thrilled about using healthy makeup now!!!!

  • I used to wear make up all the time. But then I discovered the more natural/organic lifestyle. I have not had the money to buy organic make up. So really I only use mascara on Sundays for church. But I always drool over sephora's line.

  • I used to wear make up all the time, almost daily. But ever since becoming a mother (9/28/10) I seem to wear make up a lot less. I usually only dress up once a week, and that is to church. Other than that, I wear light make up anywhere else to match my casual clothes :) Love ya, mama natural!

  • I used to not put much effort into my looks, I'd wear make up but just every once and a while. After I got married I learned that it was (and is) important for my husband to see me making myself pretty for him, and I've found that it is very gratifying and fun, he gives me tons of compliments, I feel prettier, and I've learned that one way in which I can love him is by just taking 5 minutes to make myself look nice in the morning. So I wear make up more often than I used to. But not every day.

  • When I wear makeup being a mom, It actually makes be feel beautiful. After long days with the kido's I like to cover up the under eyes and make things look easy for a day. Although i dont wear it all the time, I used to and it can age your skin but every now and then is fine!

  • I like make up I wore it alot more before my son was born but have only put it on 2 or 3 times in the last 6 months

  • I'm a stay at home mom so I mostly only where makeup when i'm going out.

  • QOTW Answer: Make up to me is an occasional thing. Sure, you have those spur of the moments that you just have to play around with your make up kits and try something new and daring. Then once you've nailed down something unique you can use that style you invented for parties, weddings, all sorts of special events. Now I am one not to wear make up every day, but I do wear it for events and when I feel like I need make up for the day. I've heard that it's a great way to express your emotions, an

  • Well, I hardly use any make up. a little mineral foundation and that is it for every day wear. I add mascara for very special events. My pastor alway says if the barn needs painting then let her paint at least 1 coat. :) I am happy though with my looks with no make up and my husband likes the natural look better. :)

  • I really have no idea how to put nice make up on... I know a bit about stage make-up but that is a scary look for everyday! LOL! Living in Hawaii is nice because it is so casual here, we don't really need it! Every once in a while though when I go out, it's fun to put some mascara on!

  • @fluffywanderings You're naturally pretty :).

  • I wear at least some foundation each day, sun damage and acne has made my skin uneven and it makes me self conscious.

  • i never where makeup EVER i haven't for 3 years

  • @FreeyourMind941 Good for you, sistah!

  • I hardly ever wear make-up. I put a little on for work, but other than that I don't really ever use it. I don't feel comfortable with make-up on. It frustrates me to put blush or powder on my face, and I feel akward whenever I wear it. As far as my feelings towards it, to each their own. If you want to wear make-up that is alright, whatever makes you comfy and happy!

  • Makeup is my therapy!! LOL I would not go out without it... it's the few minutes I pamper myself everyday and make myself feel beautiful!!

  • i love it, but unfortunately i dont feel comfortable going anywhere without makeup. i wish it wasn't the case, but it is! i'm hoping my daughter will feel more comfortable in her skin than i feel in mine.

now i have to get back to putting my face on so i can take my son to soccer practice...

  • @fakecrab I love your candor :).

  • I do not wear makeup everyday, however...if I am going somewhere nice- even if I don't feel like it much- I will at least put on some eyeliner/mascara/gloss just to feel and present as a more polished but natural woman. Also, once to three times a week, I do a little more with makeup to feel less frumpy as a stay at home momma. I like accenting natural beauty, not hiding behind makeup. I really do think it is beneficial- appearance wise, as well as mentally.

  • I don't really wear makeup, I don't feel I need to have it, I wasn't raised to wear it either. My husband really likes makeup though so sometimes I wear it for him. I would wear a little something when going to a party probably mascara and lip gloss.

  • I love wearing eyeshadow, so depending on my mood and what color I'm wearing I definitely wear makeup even if sometimes is more neutral look (eyeliner, mascara, pink lipgloss, etc).

  • OO please enter me! I actually have an organic beauty channel, DanielleBeautyBliss I do product reviews on mineral makeup and skin care. I love makeup but Im not a huge fan of putting it on. lol I prefer my natural look. Im fine with a little lip gloss and a high light. and Id totally go makeupless to a party! <3

  • @DanielleBabyBliss What are some of your favorite brands?

  • @MamaNaturalBlog I really Like Elemental Beauty, Lavera, Dr Hauschka, Alima is one of my all times faves, Living Nature is from New zealand its great but expensive. :D

  • I definitely would not go to a party without makeup on. Although I don't wear much during the week.

  • I wear makeup everyday. I think a little goes a long way and its great to bring out a woman's natural beauty.

  • I LOVE makeup! after having kids the time I took for myself to get ready went mostly to my 2 girls. now I only wear it if we are going to run errands and out to the mall or dinner. but when I'm at home or plan on staying in all day or just taking the girls to the park or a walk I go all natural ;) but it's almost always very natural looking when I do wear it :)

  • I do have to say that I wear make up everyday. I love it...It's almost like a mood booster...But I do also go with out...Thanks for all you do with the mama natural.

  • @JSSmith4273 XOXO

  • I meant to put this with the last comment... I am not a mom yet or trying to be a mom, but because of your videos i would love to try cloth diapering and Brest feeding when I have a family of my own, so thanx in advance for ur advice :)

  • @SarahRenae717 Awesome Sarah!

  • I love makeup... But I do not ware it everyday, I don't feel it is a need :) I would not go to a party without it though!

Thank you for all of your videos :)

  • @SarahRenae717 XOXO.

  • I love makeup! I love putting on makeup on others but on me i like to wear my makeup to where it looks natural and pretty! :) I usually wear my makeup to church or when my husband takes me out for dinner! A little makeup always makes a person glow a little more :)

  • I also just realized I'm signed into my husband's youtube account. I don't know if that matters, but I'll subscribe with his as well.

  • @darthomar ha... ha... ha... he's commenting on make-up :).

  • I always try to at least put a little mascara on each day. Even if it's just me and the babe at home, I feel better and more awake. when I get a quick bathroom break and look in the mirror, I can say, 'not too shabby' instead of 'i look like death' :) haha And definitely yes to a party! A chance to get out of the house?!!-My one chance to get dolled up?! YES YES YES!

  • On a normal day-to-day basis, I don't really wear makeup. I do like to wear it if we're going somewhere special like a family get-together or dinner, also if I know people will be taking pictures. My skin is fantastically clear at this point in my pregnancy, so I don't feel the need to wear much more than maybe some eyeliner, mascara, and chapstick. I knit when I watch tv, so I'm going to tell myself that it makes it a bit better.

  • I think natural living is great; taking from the earth and making use of things straight from nature and not overly produced. We weren't born with a mascara in our hand, so we don't need it.

But we also weren't born with a bar of soap and toothpaste in our hand, but we can all appreciate good hygiene.

I think makeup is about making a woman feel the best she can be. No, maybe it's not the most natural thing in the world, but if it makes you feel good about yourself, go for it!

  • @ObbsAndLala I keep thinking of the song "you make me feel like a natural woman" So whatever does that, go for it!

  • i would never go to a party without makeup, but on the other hand i don't wear alot of it. I only really wear eyeliner every day but other than that if it is a party lets up the makeup to some eye shadow and lip stick :D

  • I think makeup is all about enhancing your natural features, not hiding behind a mask.

  • I used to never leave the house without makeup. Now that I am pregnant, I hate putting on makeup. I just don't feel like it anymore.

  • I'm a stay at home Mom, and I only wear makeup when I go out. I like wearing makeup (although some days I have "bad makeup days") but I hate taking my mascara and eyeliner off at night! haha :) I wouldn't go to a party without makeup! NO WAY!

  • i don't think it's necessary to wear make up to go to the grocery store, or run a few errands, but i definitely wear it to church or get togethers. I would hate to scare people with these dark circles!

  • I dont wear makeup very often. I am very fortunate to have really great skin so I never wear foundation and when I do wear makeup its very minimal. Although, I feel prettier wearing it, I just dont think its important enough to take the time to put on everyday.

  • @fcossell You do have beautiful skin, mama :). XO.

  • I definitely think I look better with a little make-up on (gotta cover those dark circles that come with motherhood) I usually only wear make up if we are going out somewhere (or I'm filming a YouTube video) now would I go to a party without makeup ? No, but only because make-up makes me feel more confident and I wouldn't be as social at the party if I was rocking my all natural look. :)

  • @ShaysMama23 LOL! Same here. I really only do make-up for these videos or for work (2 days in an office). Otherwise, I like to be FREE. But, mama, I do know whatcha mean about dark circles. Griff still likes a night feeding so I'm going on 12 months without uninterrupted sleep!

  • I enjoy wearing make up, but I only make the effort when going out with friends or my husband. It does make me feel better but I don't depend on it for 'self-confidence.'

  • I love make up but I never have time to put it on, so I just wear lip gloss and powder.. And occasionally mascara... Summertime I don't wear it at all, it seems to just come off anyway.. Haha

  • Wearing make up just gives me the energy to do more stuff during the day my 5 month old daughter loves watching me get ready. I put her in the moby wrap and she just stares as I put on my makeup and do my hair in the morning I sing and dance while getting ready and she loves it. I feel like this is some great bonding time between my daughter and I even though she's only 5 months

  • @Ayanajb What an awesome little baby girl! Griffin would so be over that :) ... and rightfully so, he's a boy. But what a fun little tradition... baby watching mommy take care of herself. XO.

  • I love makeup. I wish I had the time to put it on everyday, but I have left the house without it on. My never leave home without it product is mascara, I just don't feel awake without it. I have been looking for organic and natural products for years, and recently decided to buy only cruelty free as well. While this limits me in some ways, I feel good about what I put on everyday. Why use products that hurt any living being and are toxic to my body to look beautiful.

  • @Katysek What mascara do you use? I don't care for most organics but now I need to see if mine is cruelty free.

  • @MamaNaturalBlog I use Physicians formula organic wear mascara and Tarte lights camera lashes. I am still searching for that perfect formula though. Next up on my list to try is Hourglass film noir mascara.

I am still using some non cruelty free products up , as I do not believe in wasting anything.

If you are interested in checking if your products are cruelty free, I check things out on leapingbunny(dot)org.

    Have a great weekend.

  • I wear a little press powders and lipstick everyday. However this past year, I have been learning how to apply my makeup correctly and creatively. Watching youtube tutorial videos really helps. Now when I go out, I step it up with a little eyeshadow and mascara.

  • @TellaQ I need to watch a few of those to learn a few new tricks... LOL! Any suggestions?

  • @MamaNaturalBlog Some of my favorites are MichellePhan, dope2111, petrilude, kandeejohnson.

  • I LOVE MAKEUP!!!!!!!!!!! With that said I am not a slave to it either. I would totally rock a nude look to a party or a heavy smokey eye. My friends never know what they are going to get with me :)

  • @phatNaturals Nice! I love it too. I like the smoky eye look and I never learned how to perfect the cat eye look liner a la Bridget Bardot but I think it looks amazing...

  • I love makeup; especially eye shadows. I think it looks pretty and it makes me feel good when I wear it. I like a natural look, though, for every day wear. I don't wear it every single day, because some days, I don't leave the house. But, when I do wear it, the look has to fit the destination or occasion. For example, to the grocery store, I might wear some eyeliner and lip gloss; whereas to a party, I'd go the whole nine yards with eye shadows, bronzer, mascara, etc. :-) Why not? It's art!!

  • @HatchedByTwoChicks I do think it's art too. I like when I have the time to do it right (which isn't often :).

  • I love makeup but find it hard to give myself time to put it on, especially now with my five-day old bundle of smiles.

  • @defragmenter OMG! Please share with me your baby details! I want to feature you on our Sunday show. Happy, happy! Enjoy newborn bliss :).

  • @MamaNaturalBlog

OMG I just found your reply now! Almost two months later! What a shame! I will share anyway. Audrey is going to be 8 weeks tomorrow. She was born on Sept 10, weighing 7 lbs 7 oz. It was a natural birth; however, I had to be induced because I was at 4 cm dilated for a long time. No pain medication = LOTS of pain. Haha. I had always wanted 3 kids at least. Without pain relief during birth made me rethink the whole 3 kids bit..

  • @MamaNaturalBlog 8 weeks later, I am starting to get the mommy amnesia everyone talks of, and I guess I have forgotten about the pain, and another baby or two would be wonderful!

  • I am a Make up wearing , cloth diapering, breast feeding mamma. I don't have a major obsession with buying it or trying new things. I just really think I am beautiful with it on. With being a working mom of 3 boys and a husband I want to feel sexy, and be that HOT wife my husbands deserves.

I usually wear it 5-6 times a week. Depending on how tired I am.

Would I go to a party without it?? Maybe a Mary Kay party where Im with other bar-naked women. (makeup) lol

  • @MBShrewsbury LOL! Or to the MAC counter. Have you ever had your make-up done there? Not exactly "natural" products but they definitely are artists.

  • I wear make-up maybe a couple times a week. I don't do it every day. It isn't something I take time out for. But, if I have the kids entertained, and I have somewhere to be, I will put it on. I wore make up last weekend for a neighbor's birthday party, because it was a special day. I don't do it all the time...Does tinted moisturizer count? I don't count it. :)

  • @TheAppieShow My husband's grandma has always stood by her need to at least walk out the door with a minimum of lipstick.

  • @TheAppieShow My mom will literally kiss my lips to get her lipstick on me! LOL! She's known for her red lips like Gwen STefani.

  • @TheAppieShow I'm right with you in terms of times per week. And no, tinted moisturizer doesn't count. One thing I really should use daily is a little concealer to smooth out the uneven skin (and dark circles :).

  • @MamaNaturalBlog Have you tried the Origins VitaZing? That is what I use. My skin is pretty dry, so I throw on my regular lotion (Vanicream Light) and then put on a layer of the VitaZing. It is tinted, just enough to give me a little glow and even me out.

  • I just recently stopped wearing my makeup unless I am really in the mood to put it on. I try to wear it when there is something special on that day. I use to be really self-conscious without it on and I would worry about what people thought. Then I realized there are so many people in this world that nobody cares if I go out with makeup on or not. So yes I do LOVE doing my makeup, but have learned it isn't needed for the little things like school, grocery store, and mommy meet ups.

  • @Matixsmom Some days I just don't want to mess with it...actually, that tends to be most days... LOL! But, I do feel so much better when I take the time to do it. Sounds like you have a healthy attitude about!

  • @MamaNaturalBlog Yeah I do too I love makeup and doing my nails lol but sometimes I am just so tired from watching a toddler I don't have the energy to do it..

  • Yes, of course, the act of typing makes this less likely to cause death.

  • @internetcases Bingo.
