  • love healthy guilt free recipes! always looking for a low sugar...low carb version of pizza! thnx so much! my kids will love this!

-soy flour.. why didn't i think of that??!

  • This is 2011 and there are still people who believe that saturated fat is bad for you? People have reversed heart disease and improved diabetes with low carb high fat diets. I overcame metabolic syndrome myself. I don't have one marker for it left.

  • Legy, u dont sems to understand a bit about what bloodsugar does. If i diabetic eat carbs the bloodsugar spikes very high. So therefore insulin must be take and the body stores the carbs as fat and thats the main purpose of insulin. If u skip carbs (u dont need carbs for anything) u can lower the insulin response and the body can start consume its own fat, very simple.

  • The two highest rated comments obviously dont know anything about diet. Atkins - The principle about it is eating meat, why? because most meat has no carbs or 2-4 carbs per 100g. Atkins is unhealthy because meat is unhealthy if eaten too much.

High fat for diabetes is great? NO. The reason why some diabetes people want to eat high fat is just to get more calories and it will not create a insulin spike. Carbs are not bad for diabetes, you need it but you are sensitive to spikes.

  • @legggggggggy As others have indicated you're clueless. I hope you don't ever get diabetes.

  • @gphx Well my dad got diabetes. What did the doctor tell him? Eat very often and stay away from candy and soda water. Dont eat too big portions, but stay with many small ones. Always carry some fruit with you and some other food if possible to control your insulin levels. Except from that I got an education in diet. Its not healthy in the long run to get all your energy from protein and fat. Your body actually need carbs to absorb vitamins and protein better. I know what I am talking about.

  • @legggggggggy I am diabetic and have spent much of the past year going through scientific literature. Seven months ago I weighed 220 lbs, my bp was 160+, and my bg ranged from 66-266 in a day. After going low carb, high protein, high fat, I now weigh 152 lbs, my bp is 110+, and my bg is typically 85-100, normal range. If you can demonstrate similar results from another dietary regime I'd be happy to listen. Meanwhile my scale and medical testing devices tell me all I need to know.

  • Soy flour is nasty

  • i know that this one doesn't taste good

  • wow.. nice to have a dad for a chef... I am so frustrated on what to eat anymore... blood sugars are pretty high.... and Im eat like a bird... uhg... :(

  • Pizza Peel....um did I miss the part where that was funny haha

  • Soy anything is garbage for your body. Just use some almond flour as a substitute.

  • soy flour? WTF!?! 0.o I ..I never heard such a thing..

  • So, i could eat that whole pizza in 1 serving. Does that still make it 15g carbs?

But seriously though, how much is 1 serving of this pizza?

  • High fat is great for diabetes, ANY carb is bad for diabetes

  • @LoCarbHighFat The two highest rated comments obviously dont know anything about diet. Atkins - The principle about it is eating meat, why? because most meat has no carbs or 2-4 carbs per 100g. Atkins is unhealthy because meat is unhealthy if eaten too much.

  • you can make a carb free and fat free tomato sauce yourself, dont need to put a tomato concasse instead!!!

  • @agronkis ya, weird that he didn't mention to make ur own tomato sauce.

  • @wilknight12345 buy it?

  • @lyricaltesting The thing is about buying it, looking for a sauce that isn't loaded with sugar. Canned and bottled tomato sauce has LOADS of carbs in it. If you know of any brands that aren't, I'd love you to message me some. thanks!

  • @agronkis You can't retard.

The things that make tomatoes sweet are sugars. Sugars are a type of carbohydrate.

  • @agronkis fats do not make you fat.

  • Lol this must bee a joke. The American mantra is low fat low fat low fat. Why does americans get fat when they eat low fat. And carbs are actually a poison for the body, to much kills you directly if insulin is not been pumped out. I make pizzas with almost no carbs only fat and protein i have eaten about 40 of them and they are huge. Look for LCHF and lose weigt. The food industry lobby is powerful and they dont earn any money on LCHF food.

  • excellent finally a food we can eat

  • Since the dough is made with whole wheat flour, can you make it in advance and store it in the fridge until you're ready? Also, does this mean that the ingredients will last a shorter amount of time for storing in the fridge? Especially since they are so fresh?

  • Great vid!!!

  • looks like dry cow shit

  • 1. He used soy flour = phytoestrogens (hi, men!), deactivates the thyroid hormone (hi, girls!)

    2. Wheat flour = NOT LOW CARB. Hello!? Gluten, anyone?

    3. Shouldve used nut flours instead. Hazelnut flour.

  • soaking yeast in warm water is called proofing, not blooming. Blooming is the process of soaking gelatin in cold water.

  • Put some cornmeal on the peel and putting the pizza on and getting if off would be easier...

  • Tasty

  • Interesting but where can i buy soy flour?

  • @ClaireSuperNana At your local health food store.

  • I dont mean to be difficult, but apparently these follks are not from Chicago because that DID NOT look like the kind of pizza I am used to seeing.

  • soy flour tastes awful

  • @Blueyedblondeful hhmm I can't tell a difference

  • you call THAT a pizza? pfft...

  • Can you give me the measurements for the soy and whole wheat flours? Thanks.

  • What makes you think fat cheese is bad for diabetics?

  • why do you think that fatsos cutting the cheese only smells to diabetics.

  • @kingarthurup Is that an actual sentence?

  • Yes.

  • @xxxBukaxxx dLife.com promotes the American Diabetes Assoc., which says that a low-fat diet and eating whole grain flour instead of white flour is better for diabetics. Personally, I think that's ridiculous and find that Dr Bernstein's Diabetes Solution, which is truly low-carb and does not restrict fats, makes far more sense. Sugars and starches affect your blood glucose, not fats.

  • This is obviously not an induction friendly pizza. I see that irt is lower in carbs than regualr pizza, but i wouldn't consider this to be truly low carb. Just sayin'

  • @BunnyJLove Not only isn't it Induction-friendly but I agree it's barely low-carb! He doesn't say how big a serving is, but I bet it's 1/4 of that pizza. Which is a waste of 15 gm of carbs, IMO.

  • great recipe indeed..!

  • oh hell no!thats not even cheesy enuff!

  • I'd rather take my chances with store bought Pizzas, that did not look nice!!!!

  • lol. a recipe for disaster...

  • i just found out i have type 1 dietbeties and never knew till i got a glucouse test cause im pregnant every mum should get one esspecially if dietbeties runs in your family.

  • While white flour is not considered the best type for diabetics more fat will delay the uptake of sugars. That's why a lot of low fat products are actually worse.

  • 1- you are awesome

2- your recording looks like an expert tv show

3- is dont know if you are really a tv show

4- {QUESTION] is this good for atkins diet?

  • 15g of carb is pretty high for atkins. I would say no.

  • @philmoskowitz HAHAHA are you joking? You can have up to 30 grams of carbs daily on a cyclic keto diet. 15 grams of carbs is okay, this is a very large meal. You want to stay away from anything that has around 10 grams of carbs per 100 grams.

  • @philmoskowitz Atkins can also kill you.

  • @philmoskowitz The two highest rated comments obviously dont know anything about diet. Atkins - The principle about it is eating meat, why? because most meat has no carbs or 2-4 carbs per 100g. Atkins is unhealthy because meat is unhealthy if eaten too much.

  • @legggggggggy Meat isn't unhealthy, not even to much meat. Meat is much easier processed by your ingestion than any other food. (Guess why we mostly like meat over vegetables) However, industry can fuck up meat very bad, true. However, saturated fats are a healthy source of energy, and have no link with high cholesterol.

It's understandable that some people don't like carbohydrates, since it creates a insulin spike, which makes some people -depending on bodytype- amenable for fat storage.

  • @LordTilo How food is processed has nothing to do with peoples likes. Looking at humans teeth tells that we are not meat eaters from nature since we dont have sharp teeth like a lion. Saturated fats are not healthy. There are many studies that shows that. Carbs dont have taste so you cant say that people dont like them for any reasons. People choose to eat low carbs to lose weight or because they have diabetes and will harm their body if they get those spikes. I assume youre joking.

  • @philmoskowitz Technically 15 grams of carbs is not too high for the Atkins diet as a whole. It is only high for the induction phase of the Atkins diet, which requires that one stay below 20 grams of net carbs. Atkins allows the person to progressively increase their carbs every week after the 2 week induction phase, as long as weight loss continues, and allows for even further increases in net carbs to maintain weight. This allowance varies from person to person.

  • @philmoskowitz fuck atkins

  • @footo9000 To answer #4, no, it's not good for the Atkins Diet. Well, maybe on Maintenance. But the majority of this pizza is whole wheat flour, which isn't Atkins-friendly. Want more on Atkins-friendly recipes? There is a lowcarb cooking chat every Thursday night and you can write to FOODMagic@aol.com for more info.

  • The tomatoes he showed are probably cut and had the liquid and seeds removed, so that it doesn't make the pizza too watery.

  • I can't believe that this man is recommending WHEAT to diabetics or even SOY.

Just plain weird and almost criminal.

  • criminal?

the majority of diabetic people eat wheat, you must be some kind of paleolithic nonsense fanatic

  • A lot of people smoke and... no seriously, wheat contains quite an amout of gluten, which is an opiate, like heroine with time it may wreak havoc on anyones system, diabetic or not, it is even suspected that gluten is one of the substances that can promote diabetic conditions.

Would u care to xplain what a paleolitic nonsense fanatic is?

BTW, words of my endo: we re no stinkin cows LOL

  • the paleolithic diet is based on the unproven belief that we're not suited to whatever food that came after the paleolithic, regardless of whether there are studies showing the benefits of consumption of those foods (i.e. legumes) Most foods contain toxic substances but what matters is the amount. All studies on soy show that the amount of phytoestrogen or antinutrients is so small, a normal serving daily doesn't even affect very small children. Dairy is more of an opiate than wheat is.

  • What is wrong with wheat if you are diabetic?

  • Hi, the problem with wheat is the gluten contained in it, besides the carbs. Gluten is an opiate that interferes with the nervous system. And soy is known to mess with the thyroid gland. I think that if raw it is poisonous or toxic, like potatoes, beans or soy, dont eat it. By cooking them not all toxins will disappear.

  • because carbs are sugars

  • what are the measurements for all the ingredients in this pizza? hard to tell just by watching the video.

  • THANK YOU!

  • how many servings is that?

  • Wow, I'm diabetic and love pizza, so this will be great! Thanks for sharing!

    Kathy

  • Om my god!

My name is also Michel Nichan.

  • Wow! This is great! While I follow a low carb, low fat diet (I'm a gastric bypass patient - lost 100 lb), I did not have a recipe for this pizza dough. It looks soooo good! I am Italian and love to bake and have rewritten some of my favorite recipes with much success. This one will be added to my favorites. I'll be checking out your website too. Thank you!

  • I love Michel Nichan, I have diabetes, and he knows his stuff to keep mine in good ranges..
