  • a lot has changed since I went through in 85

  • Great clip.

  • Basic Combat Training has change alot since I went through it in 1995. Damn!

  • For good or for bad? I keep hearing NCOs complain how easy it is for new soldiers, and some others saying the training got better.

  • The training is pretty good, as far as new tactics and things, but the things new recruits can get away with these days. Some are allowed cell phones and "extra" time for personal time.

When I went through i was lucky to get two phone calls on a public phone that I had to pay for a phone card. The first phone call was 1 minute long to let family know you arrived safely. The second was near the end to let family know you were actually graduating.

  • We were allowed to bring a cell phone, but the drills locked them away and we got them back on graduation day.

  • Yeah, same here, but most didn't have cells back when I went through. It was 1995, after all. Haha!

  • hooah!

  • At the Mount Site, did you find that secret hidden tunenl in the building in the back? It starts in the basement, and it travels to a grate in the streets. Me and abuddy checked it out while everyone else was looking for the grenade bodies the DS's were throwing out during the excersize. Good times.
